The trick as always is convincing the retailer that they do in fact offer said warranty. It is a very specific as to what is user error and a very short list of manufacturing issue.... (I think I have read here that SoCom are not useless when it comes to warranty/gun issues)2 points -

As an avid airsoft player with well over 10 years of experience, I've been on the hunt for a high-quality brushless motor to upgrade my Krytac DMR. After experiencing issues with a previous brushless motor that had its connection tab break during my first skirmish, I stumbled upon the Solink SL-39000 brushless motor while browsing an HK online shop. I was excited to give it a try, and I'm happy to say that it exceeded my expectations. Before switching to the Solink motor, my trigger-happy play style caused a lot of issues with my high torque motor. I experienced overheating, fast battery drain, and had to set up pre-cocking to improve trigger response, which led to increased wear and tear on my gearbox. But with the Solink brushless motor, all of those problems were solved. The instant torque greatly improved my trigger response, and I no longer needed to use pre-cocking. Plus, my gun was noticeably quieter without the annoying squeaking noise of the gearbox. I have attached my testing video below, so you can see for yourself. With the Solink motor, I no longer have to worry about overheating during intense semi-spamming sessions, and my small 1400mAh battery lasted me a whole day of skirmishing (I used to have to bring three batteries for a day of skirmish with my old high torque motor). I've fired over 20,000 semi shots with this new motor, and it has worked flawlessly. The Solink brushless motor arrived well-packed in a black padded box, with the pinion gear already attached and locktited. The build quality is exceptional, and the connection tabs are rock solid. The pinion gear meshes perfectly with my gearbox, and the resistance suggests high-quality magnets are used in the motor. It fits tightly in my PTS EPG motor grip, which I prefer for their high quality and comfort. And I love the small switch located at the base of the motor that allows me to adjust the speed from 39000 (H position) to around 31000 (L position) to cater to different setups. Pictures attached below: The Solink brushless motor is also highly compatible with various AEGs and FCUs. I've tested it in all seven of my AEGs, and it worked flawlessly with my G&G FCU (plug and play) as well as my Gate Titan and Gate Aster SE FCU (with brushless support turned on from the Gate app). Overall, brushless motors offer numerous advantages over brushed motors, including high efficiency, higher torque and speed, less heat production, and greater durability. The Solink brushless motor delivers on all of these fronts and offers exceptional performance, reliability, and efficiency. If you're looking for a top-notch motor for your next airsoft project, I highly recommend giving the Solink brushless motor a try. My rating is a solid 10/10!1 point

VFC HK53 GBB Pre-Orders?
RostokMcSpoons reacted to hitmanNo2 for a topic
I have it on good authority that there is potentially an issue with the cocking tube alignment on some of these HK53s so be wary. Not sure if this is a batch issue or what but potential for something not to be great OOTB.1 point -

DE UTR45 - very erratic hop?
RostokMcSpoons reacted to The_Lord_Poncho for a topic
In way of an update - I popped a ZCI hop unit in + macaron bucking. It really didn't like the macaron - wasn't reliably feeding, so I used the bucking that came with the ZCI unit. A few times to reassemble due to the hop unit not being entirely centred on the barrel, but all good now. Still not really sure what was up with the original hop unit/bucking - it didn't look damaged.1 point -

Was going to mention the Prometheus gears but someone else has covered it. They are available from Eagle six, again pricey but at least should be better postage costs. https://eagle6.co.uk/shop/catalog/product/view/id/3965/s/laylax-prometheus-high-speed-hard-gear-set-version-7-for-m14-standard-aeg-series/1 point

The VFC / Umarex HK416 Owners Thread
Nick G reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
(Sorry I keep bumping my own thread, but if it's new stuff, it's new stuff...) I just received my two "nearly hens-teeth-rare" VFC mags from LandWarrior. I check 'em both - they were both empty, so immediately gassed them. One of them is peachy, the other is leaking. Well I've taken the 'easy' method first, and squirted some Abbey maintenance gas in there. It's still leaking but slowing... hopefully that'll fix the seal(s) because I've never had to take one apart before... I have a gas valve key - but it's not the right size for the fill valve on the back Alternatively I could just send it back (at a small cost) - is that actually wiser? Is a new mag that has leaked always going to be (technical term) 'shagged'? Edit: Well, bugger. I left the working one in the sunlight, and that decided to start leaking too. I've watched a couple of YT vidz about gas mag maintenance, I've tightened the screws on the base, and the fill valves (as best as I can with a screwdriver). They both seem to be leaking from within the mag shell, but without stripping them down I won't know where from exactly. I've emailed Landwarrior to give them the news and ask for their advice.1 point -

I've got a cheeky bargain SRC Magnetar waiting to go in mine. But I must admit I've not been brave enough to fit it yet - I want my Ol' Reliable to stay that way! But there is someone on these forums who has replaced the motor in multiple DE's... I think it's @Stevobeavo (Edit: nope, @Fatboy40) but I'm afraid I can't be certain... anyway, the I remember it being described as a drop-in replacement, with no hint it'll knacker your gnu Edit: I have this one in my AK2M4 basket, it must be the recommended beastie... https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/shs-high-torque-motor-16tpa-long ... but that's a long and my Magnetar looks like it's a short. I've gone awry somewhere! Edit2: Long is correct for V2 gearboxes. My bargain motor therefore ...isn't.1 point -
Army Armament R85A2. Despite all the listings i've seen of this RIF saying the handguard is nylon/plastic, this one appears to be metal. Only gripe is that the sling loop got snapped during shipping. Fire-support have an ICS one in stock, chances are I can modify it to fit. Just need to get a dovetail to RIS converter so I can use optics with it, an A2 style charging handle and then it's on to internal upgrades.1 point

JG G36 on a 7.4v LiPo. They will probably function until the heat death of the universe. Problem is - whilst they are great site rental guns, they don't exactly sparkle with performance. And without knowing what your performance expectations are, you may as well ask 'how long's a piece of string?' There is no such thing as 'the best most reliable platform' when 'best' is subjective to the expectations of the user, and 'reliability' is often compromised by said expectations. Happy with a gun that trundles at 10rps out of the box forever, just 'works' despite being wrapped around a tree but is as dull as ditchwater to use? See my first sentence. Want a 30RPS+ speedyboi monster with incredible semi response? Well - that's another kettle of fish altogether, expect things like higher preventative maintenance/servicing, increased wear an tear, and a more expensive bill to fix when it does shit itself. I'm guessing that what you probably want is something in between those two extremes. Expensive =/= better. Just because there is a high ticket price from some manufacturers does guarantee performance and/or reliability. Looking at you VFC. TM NGRS - the ultimate fanboi rifle. 'Perfect' out of the box apparently - so perfect that people drop a grand to upgrade them to be able to keep up with those pesky kids and their £250 lightly upgraded budget blasters in terms of ROF, trigger response and power levels. But it shakes a bit when shooting and has a functioning bolt stop so it's all good.1 point -
Solink Brushless Motor for Airsoft AEGs Review

Decent V7 gearsets are like rocking horse poo. Prometheus do (did) a higher speed set but they're pretty much unobtanium these days (if you can find them it'll be an HK import). A tightbore barrel will up your FPS, so then you'll want to knock a couple of teeth off the pickup side of the sector gear. Having discussed at length with everyone's favourite sweary tech, a Warhead motor is a good upgrade BUT you will have to heavily modify the motor cage to get it to fit.1 point

Must be having an absolute giraffe! https://www.socomtactical.net/jg-mp5k-aeg-201t/ £150 brand new, with 12 month warranty. Or if you really really want a tacticool version with rails and stock, £170 A handful of plastic midcaps and NiMH batteries doesnt make a gun of unknown age, quality, and condition, worth £30 more than brand new.1 point
