Red Alert Newbury, again. I rarely go anywhere else these days, I don't need to as it's such a good site. Last week I added a Tridos TDC 2.0 hop adjuster to my SSG10 (Video about this in my thread in the media forum). I put it in because, while I love the Rif, I was fed up of accidentally changing the hop as it was right next to where my thumb sits when shouldering the rifle. Sunday was the first day of using it since. As well as the intended result it has added extra power and it's more accurate (it was already pretty good). So I spent a fun morning totally beaning people with it. Really happy with the results. Later in the day it became apparent that the teams were a little imbalanced. Yellow, the team I was on, had a lot of rentals but also people new to the site as two other nearby sites were closed this weekend (One of them being Absolute Airsoft, ho ho). So I ditched my beloved SSG10, and pulled out the Cyma SVD AEG I recently bought second hand, in order to get a little closer to the action and help the team tactics and morale. The svd was... not great. It has a combat union hop in it, and is pretty fussy. I didn't manage to find a weight and hop setting that resulted in a half decent BB flight, but that didn't really matter as I ended up ditching it and leading from the front with my MK23. It was fun for me, but also pretty frustrating. Defeat in the first few games had demoralised the yellows, and many of them were not playing the objective, and the rest were all hanging way back. We lost again, despite myself and the head Marshall attempting to get them motivated. Oh well. It did, however, result in chatting with lots of new people and they all seemed to have a good day despite being steamrolled. And all the players from "that site" I chatted with were really impressed by Red Alert, but then their bar is pretty low. In the first game after lunch I was feeling tired, being the creaky old fart I am. I had just cleared out some reds, and feeling that I may be safe I decided to sit on a bench in one of the buildings and take a sip from my camelbak. Foolish old man. One of my friends in the other team came swinging round the corner and snapped off a reflex shot from his pistol. Hitting me in the left testicle from less than six feet. I sat out the next game ? At the end of the day we had a cqbish game in the town area, basically stick in the mud. I used my TM MP5K High Cycle, which I recently added a Swordfish rail to. I love that gun. I need to use it more, but it's very situational. Overall a great day. VERY happy with the changes to the SSG10, the SVD needs some attention, and the MP5K is just so sweet. This weekend Red Alert are running a Battlesim Lite, which I'm very much looking forward to. Basically a normal skirmish day but the only break is for lunch, with set objectives, teams etc. Their full battlesims are great, and this should be a nice intro to the kind of gameplay that a Battlesim offers, for less experienced players.

Picked up an MWS with SLR body, experimented with a couple red bits that my friend gave to me to sell ? Not sure what I'll do with this one, but the sun made it interesting Edit: Now in the classifieds ? Didn't have a spare black front iron sight, don't judge Also got a 3D printed MCX Rattler upper for the other MWS, which is quite cool! Needs sanding and painting though

It seems to fit, although it doesn't solve my "tighten the grip and the gun screams louder than a petite vs BBC clip" issue, to which I have yet to figure out a solution. Along with a self unwinding motor adjustment grub screw piece of shit.

Played at District 23 again last night but this time with almost double the numbers than normal. Games were decent and the level of gameplay was fantastic minus one guy refusing to take a trade-kill when we both shot each other within touching distance. I just walked away, can't be bothered with that. Some guy had an absolutely silent Mk23 that you never heard before you felt it. It was insane. One dude got the drop on myself and a teammate and rather than shooting us in the back or legs, chose to shoot both of us in the back of the head with a HPA pistol. Cheers pal. One negative is that the staff never tagged/ziptied guns or regulators at chrono and I think some of them knew it and might've given themselves a bit of extra juice. Project gun performed fantastically again and never had any issues with BBs striking the tracer since swapping to a shorter Blaster Unit.

Damn, this TM MP5K sure is nice out of the box. Not gonna touch the internals at all. But I want to do something to it.... I KNOW! Added bonus, I can now access the hop adjuster without disassembling the front end.

This! Most "upgrades" cock up a well engineered rif. Use it, decide what and if you think the RIF is lacking. It's very easy to focus on "upgrades" that actually make your RIF worse. How does your RIF compare in performance, side by side, to someone else's RIF? Considering how you play, do you then need to "upgrade" your RIF. Generally, I'd say save your money and put it towards a new primary RIF. Not that you need it, but in x amount of weeks you're going to get bored of your current RIF and want something that's different, an SMG, a gbbr, an AK etc. don't buy a back up RIF, when buying, get something you'll love more than your current one. The only thing I will say, is that if you aren't getting the range you want now and it's been sat there with the hop on doing nothing for 4 years, a new hop rubber wouldn't be a bad move (but a good idea to compare to someone elses range would be sensible in making the decision as to whether this is needed now). If your FPS is below 300 on a 0.2 gram bb, then that would make me take action sooner than I have recommended. Peq boxes are nowadays, pretty much purely for looks (I run them) but even if you had night vision, some sites are banning IR lasers and there are so many players with NV, it's a giveaway of your location. A red dot sight (and screen protector) is sensible, if only to improve your first shot hits and use 0.25 or 0.3 gram bbs.

As above. Also one of the cheapest and most effective "upgrades" is to simply switch to heavier ammo

Play several games with the gun as-stock, do nothing but clean the barrel. Figure out your playstyle, are you getting up close and personal? plinking from distance? Have a good notion in mind of how the gun is performing, and what about its current performance needs improving. Then its time to start talking about how to go about improving the performance to make it better at doing what you need it to do.

Think I've said before that Camouflage Bournemouth has now become my preferred local site. I agree that paintball sites don't generally make for the best airsoft fields, but the terrain is decent here, with plenty of hills, thick but not impenetrable foliage and some decent structures. The site is generally really well run too. @Speedbird_666 and @Shamal shout if you're planning a trip there and, depending on C-Diddy Jnr's football schedule, we'd definitely be up for a meet

Polsim is very niche, there's very few who are proper dedicated to it.....but that loadout is pretty impressive. I have seen it add a huge element to some events and then be almost irrelevant at the next based on how the players are. Personally I hate the focus on whether a face is blurred. Some photos just have people pulling silly faces, sometimes there's a genuine reason (workwise) where you don't want pics of you running round playing toy soldiers or fake coppers to be available. Having been heavily involved in recruitment for some big employers I've seen hiring managers get funny about lesser subjects.
