    Double eagle UTR 45

So I managed to put a few rounds through the gun at work today. It uses the same gearbox as all the other DE guns with the falcon system. At about 10/15m I was getting a grouping of around 2" or so (using valken .20g outside. I then shot at sign about 30/35m maybe which was about a foot square and after adjusting for wind I was hitting it pretty consistent. The gun feels very solid. No creeks anywhere. The only part that has a bit of movement is the stock when extended half way or more but even then it's not that much. I thought I'd highlight a few bits that might be useful and nice touches. First up is the battery compartment. It's pretty airy in there, especially if your a fellow 904G owner. as you can see plenty of room for larger sticks or crane batteries.b The stock has 6 extendable positions plus a couple for the cheek rest. It has a nice rubber pad at the end. A little detail that I thought was nice was a window to show what position the stock was in. The charging handle is ambidextrous and can be swapped over easily. You pull the charging handle back along 2 sprung loaded stainless steel tubes too access the hope unit. Hop now exposed through the large ejection window. This stays open until you press the catch and it snaps shut. Next is the grip. Feels good in the hand. Has a nice rubber texture on it. Definitely more comfortable than my 904G and H. Lastly one slight downside. The stock when folded doesn't click into anything to make it stay fully closed to the rifles body. There's a bit of free play before force is needed to fold it back to lock it out. Easily solved with a bit of velcro, or something. This is the amount 'free play' Hope that helps someone.

  2. Hello peeps.... Had a frustrating conversation with the airsoft shop today... Took the Rapax M7 I bought at the start of December in because the pistol grip had come loose - again. The day I first brought it home, the grip came off completely, and it was evident that the 4 screws had been stripped in the factory. Took it back the next day and said that I had tried to put them back in, but it didn't look good. Shop tech rather abruptly said I might have voided my warranty; but took it out the back and did something to it. I was given the gun back and no charge etc. Scroll forward to last week and the gun's 4th time out, and the handle goes all loosie goosy again; so dropped it back to the shop. Tech guy half pretended he didn't remember the gun and started waffling on about it might only have two screws which isn't enough for a gun that heavy, or I might have been holding to wrong, but would have a look. Phoned this afternoon to see if there was any chance it was ready for tomorrow, to be told it might be outside the warranty period, and that either way it might not be covered. I told matey boy firmly, but politely that it would be under warranty and that it was the same fault the gun was sold with. To whit, he said it would be looked at on Monday and that they'll get back to me. Won't name them just yet as it might turn out to be a nothing-burger; but "welcome to airsoft" memes aside; do these merchants realistically think they can get away defining their own Consumer Rights Act by stating a two month warranty? I can understand limited warranties on batteries and gears, but not the structural integrity of the gun itself. Various terms spring to mind: An unreasonable contract is an unenforceable contract. These [consumer] rights effectively overrule any warranty and guarantee for the product As an aside, Patrol Base were excellent recently when the boy's L85 shit the house. They sent a returns label with no questions asked after I sent them a video of the gun sounding like a strangled cat and not feeding properly. Turned out to be a simple motor height issue and the hop. All sorted and sent back in around a week FOC and a good 4 months after they sold the pew. I was expecting and willing to pay for the shipping, but they covered the lot. Tah in Advance!

    Tell Us a Gag. Please!

STAY AWAY FROM WEYMOUTH I witnessed some terrible behaviour by the seafront from a couple arguing in front of a load of kids. It started off as an argument but soon escalated to violence. The police attended the situation, the lead police officer tried to placate the couple but had no choice but to use his baton on the bloke, but the bloke managed to snatch the baton and started hitting the police officer and the woman with it. Then a crocodile turned up and stole all the sausages.

  5. @C-Diddy certainly was great using my own kit, not only is it the stuff I want to be playing with but it’s like officially being an Airsoft player. This community is great at making rentals feel welcome, but as a rental you still feel a bit of an outsider. I was going to ask for recommendations for a two point sling but you’ve already given me a couple 😉

  6. @RostokMcSpoonsyou're not alone in doing that 😂 So used to having a kit list, I've carried it across to airsoft.

  7. I'm playing my first game in a loooooong time, and went a bit bananas today trying to work out what I needed. So I put all my kit into a spreadsheet (and greyed-out the stuff I'm not taking / don't need) It's a bat-shit crazy amount of kit I know it's quite an OCD thing to have done... I wish I could attend to important things with as much diligence The TL;DR version is Comfy clothes (plenty of cheap army surplus available) Decent boots with some ankle support (the first time you trip over a tree root or stick your foot in a hole, you'll thank yourself for buying them) They're a very personal thing, but I took a punt on Swiss Paratroopers' boots which are heavy, but good. Eye protection: Bolle Tracker 2's a cheap and good starting point, or British Army ESS goggles perhaps. Half or full face mask (cheaper than a visit to the dentist) Perhaps a Dye full-face mask if you're thinking of CQB. Baseball cap or bush hat (scalp shots hurt, protect yourself at least a bit) Gloves (knuckle shots hurt too) - Mechanix are great value. Battle belt or chest rig + mag pouches. You can just stuff things into pockets, but it's just not tacti-cool If you're thinking of spending upto £500 on a RIF then you could be choosing AEG, gas or HPA "The world's your oyster" - make some friends and ask to try their guns out on the field for a few shots, you'll soon get an idea which way you want to go (might be all 3 of course, in the long term) We usually advise it's best to rent for a few games, make sure you really enjoy it first before splashing major cash though. There are plenty of separate threads for more discussion on all these things so have a search... see if they help at all. Good luck and have fun! (And call your hits)

  11. Drops straight in, I've not had to alter the motor height for any of them. I've had a noticeable improvement in trigger response on semi, the torque difference is night and day, and a tiny improvement on RoF. DE told me that the stock Chaoli motor is 19,000 RPM, however they didn't say at what voltage, and I use 11.1v.

  16. The only way HPA hurts more than an aeg, bbs (assuming they're the same weight etc) travel faster, the BBS do more damage etc is if the joules of that rif is higher than the aeg players. If the hpa player has changed their joule setting after chrono it's because they are a cunt. If the site refuse to deal with cunts ....why do you want to play there? Why attend a site/give them your cash and time that has pandering to cunts as it's business model? Why take your child to a site that doesn't deal with players that break health and safety rules that could risk your child's eye sight? An AEG with the same joules and same weight bb will do the same thing as hpa. Hpa can be tuned to firing very fast, I have seen aegs that have been tuned to fire very fast, generally this is just down to the person behind the system but yes, hpa makes it easier for cunts to cunt. My AEG clocks in around 340 fps with a .2, which is just under the 345 limit of the skirmish site I attend. Typically I use gbbr (and the fps is very gas dependent) and I get as many kills etc as when I use an AEG, yet I have far fewer BBS, so I don't buy the whole faster rate of fire/mass of suppression will always win. Though it can have an impact. As for where on the body you can and should be shot simply put you have to expect to be shot anywhere, hands, groin, face etc and wear ppe as per your comfort levels. I've aimed at players chests 15 meters away (or so) and ended up getting them in the face, there are many factors that can impact how accurate a bb is you can't get upset about hand shots etc. It's part of the sport.

  17. It's not the HPA, it's the player and more importantly the site staff and enforcement of the rules. HPA at 1.2 Joules is no different than spring or AEG at 1.2 Joules, the BB doesn't know or care what system is providing the motive power. Find somewhere else to play.

  23. Nice review. I've picked one of these up and thankfully the internals are the same great stuff in the M9XX series. I first thought it was a made up replica by Double Eagle but it turns out it's actually based on a real firearm http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/LWRC_SMG-45 it's also good to see a whole bunch of rails, screws, a different mag release and the battery adapter in the box as well.
