Thought I'd do a gear dump for some people that have been asking about various bits of kit I've shown in pictures recently and also when ive been out at games in particular the tacvents I got from tacvent which help to keep the body cool whilst wearing a plate carrier which ultimately helps with regulating your body temperature. 1st line OPS D-Ring Cobra Warrior Belt PIG FDT Delta Utility Glove Tactical Tailor Roll-Up Dump Bag ESSTAC 5.56 single KYWI Shorty Mag Pouch Spiritus Systems Medium GP Pouch Safariland 6354DO Glock 17 ALS Optic Light Bearing Holster With QLS 19 Fork Safariland UBL Mid Ride with QLS Receiver 2nd line Spiritus Systems OVERT w/4" cummerbund Ferro Concepts Turnover Magazine Pouch - Triple 5.56 (until I get the Spiritus 5.56 Placard) Baofeng UV5R Thales labelled fist mic Tacvent plate carrier vent system All the equipment above was sourced through both tacticalkit and hueys and as always I'm running the travail fitness group 3.2kg multicurve m81 granite2 plates.3 points -
What's the Cold War (60s-80s) scene like in the UK?
Tackle and 2 others reacted to EvilMonkee for a topic
I run the WARPAC Cold War Airsoft page on FB. The 'scene' is in pretty decent health with a hardcore of around 80 players plus another 100 or so who come and go. You tend to get around 30-40 per side at events weather and location dependent. You would absolutely be welcomed by the Brit side and they are a good bunch of lads (if on the wrong team). Check out the kit guide here : www.coldwarairsoft.com. Next game is at Tuddenham in Norfolk on 23rd Nov, will probably be a smaller game as Tuddenham is difficult for people to get to. The games at Eversley will recommence in the New Year probably around March time. There are usually 3 games per year and you get the same groups playing on each side pretty much. They are easily the best airsoft events I have been to - but they are not milsims! They are FILMSIMs, don't go expecting a milsim. I personally think that they have got the balance spot on. There is never any drama or such like and no cheating. Once you have come to a good Cold War game you wont want to play a skirmish again. Any questions yell.3 points -

New specna arms SPECNA ARMS SA-A27-M CARBINE / BLACK It's official I'm a fully paid up specna arms fanboy load it with a 7.4 lipo 330 fps set hop for .28 loaded it up and watched them fly out accurately to a distance that scared my sorted Tokyo Marui No play in any parts, m-lok that works and solidly built with a full metal body i simply cannot fault this Aeg at the price point, if the gear box and hop alignment is good for the inferno gen 2 HPA engine that is going in it I will be a very happy bunny.2 points -

For me it would be the natural position for dumping mags. Mines pretty much in the same position1 point -

My own personal reason is I find it easier to put mags in a downwards motion once empty rather than reaching to the back, it also flaps about less as how the belt sits it's actually directly over my hip so won't flap as much back and forth compared to being more behind me. I don't just use it for empty mags, if I'm doing target stuff I can put my speed loader etc in there or other bits and pieces and it's easier to access. The GP pouch goes further to the back as during game it holds stuff that I use less often so makes sense to have the dump closer to the action of drawing out an empty mag. Again though this is just my personal opinion and how I find it easier to do things. I'd happily take suggestion that it's easier to do other ways but this just suits me at the moment.1 point -

The first test print for my SCAR H M-LOK rail system on the gun for the first time. It's not finished and pretty much every element needs tweaking in some way or another but it's satisfying to finally have it in my hand.1 point -

Gunman do cold war themed 'filmsim' - they've got one on late next month as it happens https://www.gunmanairsoft.co.uk/event-category/cold-war-red-mist/1 point -
I will compile a summary post of everything I’ve tried so far and the pro’s and cons tonight if anyone is interested. That should save people 85+ pages of reading as a lot of things have changed.1 point

Took my MWS in its HPA drum mag glory for the first time on Sunday - it's a beast and I beast I like very much. BUT I loathe and detest the stock handguard. I find it really uncomfortable - so it's gone! It's a shame the tan doesn't match - but that's what happens when America meets Germany.. I'm gonna just run a single point sling, so I don't have to sully the handguard. The fit is utterly solid and no PTS ring needed. I absolutely love it to bits.0 points
