  2. Most places I know of that have super-CQB have a touch kill rule whereby if you can put a hand on someone's shoulder they're dead, no 'hit' gets called they just leave and go to regen. It's not a safety thing (350fps is not dangerous even at point blank range) it's a sneakyness thing. Then again, the people I tend to play with these days are of a more mature and practical mindset and accept that while a point blank shot in the armpit or inner thigh (oh god, it hurts) is uncomfortable it's not going to do anything more than bruise. The alternative is shouting 'bang bang' at each other with potentially unloaded guns or pointed fingers which leads eventually to arguments or people abusing the rule. The 'bang rule' isn't for safety, it's so soft people don't throw their toys out of the pram when their tampon strings get pulled and they end up with a boo-boo.

  3. Your attitude is spot on both with regards to MED and bang rule I'm a true believer in that if you have a problem getting hit point blank (single shot) then you should stick to posing with airsoft guns instead of playing with them. If you are a bit of a jitterish person than cqb is defo not for you. Strangely when I play airsoft I do see a lot of people who hang back a bit away from the front line/entry team on doorways obviously afraid of getting lit up. These people tend to have masses of protective gear on and still worry. The strange thing is, if you let a mate shoot a couple of times point blank it will hurt but then you get over that fear. You will enjoy airsoft ten times more after that with your new found bravery and freedom. Getting hit point blank at airsoft should be as expected and enjoyed as much as getting wet going swimming or getting muddy playing football. We need to take the 'soft' out of airsoft lol

  4. The Matrix/Iron airsoft Green gas SMLE from Evike. cost £212 including shipping. http://www.evike.com/products/41725/ Also just bought a sling and bag for it from Soldier of fortune 'cos you may as well have the period correct bag and sling for a gun like this

  7. Hi Ian There was a bunch of new Olight flashlights auctioned off on ebay a few nights ago at stupid o'clock so they were going cheap. For All i know it might even be a clone but I'll see when it arrives. It was £20 rather than the £69 rrp so I just went for it That and the fact that i was outbid on many better flashlights last minute and that this was the last one up for grabs. Ive already got enough flashlights that can do the same job but given the low prices it was more of a "spur of the moment buy" Rex

  9. Yes, there is only 1 reason why I would buy a gun from America. I cannot get it anywhere else. A Gun shaped object being sent from a country known for the easy availability of guns guarantees customs will be interested in it. Once they realise they can't keep it, they will apply as much tax and duty as they can. Sometimes you can get lucky ordering stuff from the US but a gun has virtually no chance.

  13. TaiwanGun isn't actually in Asia, it's Polish. So you won't be charged VAT or import tax AFAIK. I would have them put your UKARA number on the box though! If you want you could contact them and ask them to do it before you order but you can also write it in the business line of your address so it should be on the package already.

  16. sorry but the guy he comes up behind Black Death "taps him on shoulder"....... - never mind bang your dead that to me is knife kill in effect - CONTACT WAS MADE !!! to me in my book Black Death is brown bread - don't matter in my book knife hand dildo or BB - contact was made The post itself iself is going on about just saying from distance BANG and NO CONTACT - that is what I say no kill Black Death may prefer to shot but me myself would accept that kill by tap on shoulder the only problem is if in heat of them moment would being pumped up etc... would I calmly accept it immediately hopefully but like I have said in the heat of battle we all may not always 101% do the right thing straight away we can only try to play fair BTW - you either have to be really brave or really stupid to try & sneak up on Black Death for a Bang or Melee kill Personally I would fire a shot or two & RUN - coz I ain't hanging around if I miss

Did I do the right thing?

Neither, I'd rather the person brought along a suitable gun. If someone turns up with a double eagle gun we don't allow them to bang kill people outside of their 10m range. Why should this be so different. It was courteous of the guy for sure but if the bang kill rule wasn't in effect then he can hardly complain. He new about the MED rule and yet still chose not to carry something suitable for inside it. Simple. Respect the MED and only bang kill if the rule is in play, if not be courteous by all means and offer a painless kill but be prepared to shoot if needed. That's how pretty much every site I've been to does it and it saves arguments. You can't complain if no rule was broken.

Did I do the right thing?

i treat the bang rule as if im giving the person a chance to surrender, but that they are potentially going to react and try to refuse it, i always keep the target in my sights ready to shoot if they start to move. and vise versa i will only take it if i cant see a way around getting hit. iv had someone run through i room i was hiding in with me watching where they came from, them pointing the gun at the opposite corner to the one i was in and them try to shout bang. course i shot them and didn't take the bang. thankfully we dont have that awful sniper rule. but i have to wonder why the sniper was advancing through a hostile area without a capable weapon for short range, who does that? pretty sure thats not part of the role...

  20. I would turn around and tell you to shoot me in the chest point blank! Ask anyone who has played with me and they will tell you I'm there to be hit. Don't rob yourself of a hit to please me as I really don't mind being shot point blank on purpose (as long as it's not intentionally in the face/neck). If it's a sniper rifle doing crazy fps then I won't take the hit and I will stab/shoot you under MED rules. If you do shoot me within MED rules then I will go straight to a Marshall FOR YOUR OWN Safety not mine lol

Really? You'd never know.... Personally, I used to mountain bike a LOT but my personal geometry has become pretty downhill specific these days so it's video games (console and PC), airbrushing (yes - on guns as well as other stuff) and the usual pottering about. Work is pretty stressful so I like to unwind in front of mindless entertainment of an evening.

  27. They're ok, performance isn't the best, creaky in some places. Though for your first AEG that isn't an M4, you could go for the Cyma AK series, or a JG/SRC G36.

  29. Probably take it but that's not the same scenario. That'd be common courtesy by the player, who could still shoot you should you not take it. A sniper couldn't.

  33. I've not tried bunker51 but I have visited the mall. Overall it's a good site and I can appreciate why it has won awards. It's quite large as sites go and the layout is brilliant. The guys that run it seem very nice which makes it all the harder to criticise it BUT I had one main frustration from my experience which was the lack of lighting. Yes most sites (especially cqb) will have dark areas and in some sites absolute pitch black but the mall just has too many areas like this. A little bit of this makes for exciting variance but too much of it means it encourages too many choking points and at times spray and pray type gameplay. I felt the fluidity was definitely reduced by stumbling blindly around where more running and fighting could have commenced. On a more positive note, the terminator game mode is absolutely fucking AWESOME! If you haven't seen it before a guy dresses up as terminator and will take hundreds of bbs before he goes down for 30 seconds or so. He fights back with a fully auto support weapon which feels like being shot at by an entire team at once. If you can get down to the site then do so. In my honest opinion it's not the best ever site but it's very far from the worst either

  35. I personally side 100% with the OP here, if the sniper is inside MED then he cannot fire for reasons of safety, fair enough. I'm not going to EVER take a 'bang' kill from someone more than 5 metres away, certainly not 30 metres. There's absolutely zero guarantee he'd have hit his target at that range; I have seen some properly speshul shooting from airsofters who are shouting 'take your hits' while the overhopping BBs are chopping through leaves 5metres above me. If you want to play the sniper role in airsoft (which is a game, with rules) then you either accept that you're unable to engage within 30 metres or you buy a secondary weapon without an MED. Personally I disagree with the bang rule entirely and believe it's a crossover from the states where they play with much higher FPS limits than the UK. I regularly play CQB in a site where the longest possible sightline is about 20 metres and engagements often happen at corners with distances less than 2-3 metres; does anyone complain about 'bang kills' etc, no, they don't. Because 328-350 FPS isn't dangerous even at point blank, it just stings a bit. The bang rule is bullshit and common courtesy is what's required, if you're up close clearly it's not cool to light someone up on full auto, but to point your gun at them and say "bang bang" is just sad, we're not playing cowboys and indians in a primary school playground.

  40. Any AEG can be a DMR with the right upgrades. RealSword SVD is just unique is that it has really good parts quality and performance out of the box. The hop up units on those things are amazing. I'd put the motor armature into a neodymium can and leave it until it breaks. It's a heavy fucker, full stamped and machined steel. Very long and hard to maneuver. RS type 56 is probably the strongest bastard of a gun in airsoft. Gearbox is very reliable- but proprietary since it's made to fit into a real steel demilled body. Components are good quality, hop up units are great, and RS supply the parts direct at very low prices.

  41. Personally I would have taken it. The whole reason I got into airsoft rather than paintball is the realisim. Realistic weapons, realistic scenarios, the gear and tactics we try to emulate. In real life guns don't run on batteries or vent gas when it's cold I know other people play for different reasons so really both sides have a point.

  43. So your saying if I literally walk across your red dot when you had no idea I was there, that makes you more aware than me? Lolololol I think luck may have a small part to play. I was merely identifying that some experienced players quite literally HUNT opposition whereas the rest of us just find people! There's a big difference

  44. Guy needs to buy a £6 rubber knife or a £15 springer pistol lol You did nothing wrong in my opinion. Snipers appreciate the minimum engagement rule especially as it's based on safety reasons. If they shoot too close that's cause for getting kicked off site! It's just plain dangerous especially when you consider the vast majority (almost all) standard eye pro isn't rated to 500fps at close range! Bearing that in mind, if he shot me with a pistol which malfunctioned I'd politely ask him to show me the mag. If it has BBs and gas if put the lack of shot down to malfunction outside his control and assume he wouldn't miss a target my size from 5m. I've done this before as i feel it's in the spirit of the game. but not carrying a knife or pistol as a sniper is your choice. Your fair game As for bang rule it's so so sooooooo weak! It's actually counterproductive to the sport. It's anti-combat! I can understand it for under 18s games but for the rest of us it's like 'touch rugby' which makes my blood boil. The way I see it is that if a guy is smart enough and stealthy enough to get behind me then he has every right to shoot me cold in the back assassination style. As long as he's not too spiteful and shoots me in the back of the head/neck it's all good. Between the shoulder blades is polite or the bum cheeks are good for extra humiliation lol. I deliberately keep my knife on my left leg because of the bang rule! Why I hear you ask? Well if you shout bang at my back my right hand raises my rifle as if in a passive fashion. Now at this point I don't shout hit but because I appear slumped and my gun raises you assume I'm pussying out! As your eyes fixate in the rifle my left hand stabs behind me and you are now in fact DEAD! Sneaky yes but deffo a lesson learned! If you get a chance to kill me... Please do!

  48. I'm never going to wear any eyepro that isn't full seal ever again. I find it amazing that people shy away from mesh because tiny fragments may get through (and for the sake of discussion forget the physics involved, because many people will not understand the simplest science, purely because it is science so they just switch off) but cheerfully wear lenses with gaps around the edges that whole BB's can fit through, nevermind the size of shattered fragment which could ricochet up off a gun or mask. Literally amazing
