  1. Had a very casual game today. Forgotten all about it this morning thou! Have a sleep in, get up, see the text message, "damn", throw battery on charger, decide for uber casual kit, get dressed, grab nearest highcap, fill with bbs, grab akm, drive, 2 hours late: "why are you ALWAYS the last one to arrive??!", excellent games and superb weather! (minus scarf.. and kneepads are hidden under shorts) (little hello to Swedish Goverment FRA who looks at all pictures uploaded in Sweden, presumably searching for militant group that does not exist or upload pictures. not the best looking smiley, but don't think they mind.)

  2. They have gearboxes that are much more advanced than normal gearboxes, they never miss a shot and have instant trigger responses. Plus they use interchangeable cylinders which means you can change the fps within seconds. They are 1:1 scale in terms of weight and detail. They are advertised to be training weapons used the the military, so obviously, milspec is a selling point and an excuse to jack up the price by 5 million.

  4. okay i think i get where you are getting confused (don't worry there is a lot to learn we all get confused!) there is a difference between an aeg with blowback and an GBB. an aeg with blowback is a rifle that uses battery's and a gearbox to work, but it has a small plate on the ejection port that moves back and forth creating a simulation of the real thing. a gas blowback, is where the the gun uses gas to work that is stored in the mag,it uses a bolt and some fancy stuff that i have no idea about as dad wont let me touch his gbb m4! but the problem is that a gas blowback mags only hold 30 rounds, and as a starter you should go with an aeg if it has blowback its fine dont worry nothing really to maintain but if you go with a GBB for your first gun without any experience with airsoft guns gbb or aeg probably not the best bet honestly go for an G&G AEG combat machine ! any particular questions please ask we will all be happy to help!!

  5. Good quality for the money does not = will never break. G&G Combat machines are very good value for money, but they inevitably can and will eventually break. It's the same with any airsoft gun, the better quality ones may last longer / better accuracy / rof / etc etc but they will all break down at some point in time. Although some brands though expensive will disintegrate when you so much as look at them.

  6. The main thing you notice immediately is weight, the polymer based guns tend to be a lot lighter. Its not necessarily an authentic weight but its a lot easier to handle and move around with a light gun all day than a heavy one. Metal is tougher but a lot of the modern plastic guns are surprisingly durable and don't have loose parts and show decent build quality. So really I think it mostly comes down to weight v looks. The metal looks authentic and the plastic really can't ever achieve that same look but the metal can't achieve the weight savings. You could look at getting a polymer based gun like a SCAR, then the real gun is polymer based and the airsoft guns are modelled well on the original, although the rails add a lot of weight its nothing like as light as a G&G combat machine but its also not as heavy as a full metal and wood AK.

blowback is just for looks, it doesnt do anything. Unless you plan to do work on the rifle then blowback wont effect the gun in a bad or good way its just for looks, but the G&G guns are really good for starter guns!

  9. So I used to use adobe after effects quite a lot but I just kept using trial versions and it's great. I can have precise edits and sync audio extremely well. But I can't use it forever on trial and I ain't paying 400 quid or what ever it costs. I use windows move maker quite a bit too and I really like it; it's simple to use and does the job well. But it does have that many effects which I would like. Today, I decided to use lightworks, which is free and what an utter load of shyte bollock it is. Dragging and dropping doesn't exist, they use this "mark and park" method which is utter shyte. Useless. I can't even sync videos to music precisely, it's extremely off. The worst editor I have ever used. Is there anything that is decent enough to have some effects and have precise editing?

  10. I can't get my head around the fact systemas are like 5 times the price of any other make but the fps / rpm doesn't justify the price. Am i missing something, like maybe they are all steel. If so, still doesn't justify the price in my opinion. Also, dont G&G have really good m4's that will supposedly never break and have metal gearboxes etc and £120 compared to a systema which is like £1200. Can someone explain? thanks...

  11. will never break?? tell that to their gearboxes!! but yea, more precision, and the fact that some yankie special force uses them for training add to the price as well. ea. branding. like surefire or aimpoint for example. generally, if you're prepared to upgrade you can get just as good a gun for less money, say with a G&P base.

This is NOT a good choice for a first rifle. http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?cPath=268&products_id=8296&osCsid=bd5296770e1832cdf7068553b3321e6e GBB means gas blockback. Not nearly as reliable, takes a lot more care, more expensive to run, mags will be expensive, rare 2nd hand mags, only lowcaps available etc. etc. My opinion is that you should own at least 2 AEGs (primary and spare) before getting a GBB. At least if you intend to skirmish. GBB are plenty fun thou, but get your AEGs first! and if I started out and wanted reliability (as oppose to m4-tacticoolness), I'd choose CYMA AK, the VFC/LCT clones (such as CM.045 or CM.048). Will be way more reliable than anything else you can get at a beginners budget. Great out the box performance as well.

    Gloves for airsoft?

I've gone with the "gucci kit" Oakleys. If they fail me, I'll just return them. Gucci kit.

Hmm do you think people on this forum would really be interested in pictures of guns? If in doubt, ALWAYS post pictures of guns. If you can't find pictures of guns to post, kittens or puppies will do. <---posting this is not pointless and silly, I have taken care to ensure that it illustrates the point I am making with my post

Blowback means different things to different manufacturers. Some are connected to the gearbox and that's bad because when if fails it can destroy your gearbox. G&G just use some of the air from the piston to open and close the bit that the spent shells would eject from (the name of which my brain will not allow me to remember at the moment). If it stops working it will have no effect on performance at all, its just a neat bit of added realism. It should not be an issue when doing upgrades etc. EJECTION PORT!!! -see I'm not a dumbass who doesn't know what gun parts are called, I'm just half asleep

  23. I didnt use a full face mask when I was sixteen, I used goggles and mesh face mask and no one really questioned me about it. Make sure you get some decent goggles, I know I sound like an old hag, but you can't get another pair of eyes.
    1 point
  24. Would goggles and a lower mesh covering only the mouth count as a full face mask? I personally hate full face masks.

  26. I have had good luck with desert locust goggles with a fan. The fan really does help reduce the rain out (they don't fog as they have a good anti fog coating but they rain out) quite a lot and I found it good enough to play where normal goggles were simply not. I sweat like Niagara falls, definitely the sweatiest guy I know and its been a challenge finding a solution but those desert locusts work pretty well.

Guns that NEED to be made

I'd love a GBB Tec-9 for my assassin loadout. It'd be an interesting sidearm for cartel loadouts aswell (Wood kit AK-47, red plaid shirt over a tank top, casual slacks, too much hair gel, and some cheesey-looking airsoft sunglasses... Maybe a rubber machete aswell). I remember seeing some crappy pump action spring version on eBay, but that's all I've ever seen.

  33. Sadly, Jambwow sells guns that are worse than these. I reckon that they can fire at least 420fps using the new JustBBGuns Snoop Dogg .12g Bulldog BBs: http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/21083-brand-new-snoop-dogg-bbs-jbbg-exclusive/

  36. Right you bunch of fuck nuggets An Imitation firearm is something that - oh I'm not even going to bother with big words so we'll introduce an "acid" test? If you were to take the Morrison's water pistol or replica of choiceand lay it on a table if front of a jury. Ask them if it's a real gun if they answer 1) yes, it might be or I'm not sure - Congratulations it's an imitation firearm 2) no, that's a water pistol from Morrisons', don't waste our time again like this or we'll kneecap you with a spade - unlucky, it's not an IF

That's standard airsoft monkey metal. Decent ABS plastic I reckon is actually stronger than some of the metal receiver that are knocking about.

  39. Really? Your telling me that those pictured toys closely resemble a real gun to a normal person? That's the working definition of a Imitation Firearm. Did you know there are companies that sell "wild fruit" products but they are technically breaking the law because you cannot sell wild fruit, berries or nuts for commercial gain as it's technically theft. If they are commercially grown then it's false advertising. Nothing gets done because 1) The Police/trading standards have better things to do 2) nobody cares

  40. W0W...They do look so real I nearly bought one but then the magic mushrooms wore off... I sometimes feel that "scaremongers" like yourself do more damage than good, replica firearms is it...they are shillouette at best...and water pisstols. Kids toys not replica firearms, water pi$$tols get a grip,I hope the Daily Mails ignores your message but as there's bugger all else to print..well done. Who could possibly mistake them for firearms?Next the wonky sticks we used as kids will get people shot, and the tennis ball hand grenades...common sense must prevail.surely.

  42. I don't think its an issue, I prefer the fact the guns are lighter and the polymer G&G uses is great. But he did ask for a metal gun in the OP so I mentioned it so he was aware that while the gun itself is lovely it doesn't meet the all metal requirement. At £300 you might be able to get a VFC, they do have nice externals.

  43. But they don't need to be made.

  44. I've been shot way too many times when I didn't expected it, in safe zones or at home. At a game day first thing is to put my goggles on and I only take it off when I'm driving away at the end of the day. Sometimes you can even surprise yourself with a well placed unintentional shot. For example the time I was building an 500 fps DMR and I put my finger in front of the muzzle to see if the air blows hard enough when I fire. There was still a BB in the hopup. Oh, fun times...

  45. I've always found trigger discipline and weapon handling stuff kind of obvious and natural to do. For example your grip on a pistol should be as high up on the frame as possible but sometimes you see people holding it like half way and it looks retarded, not to mention completely impractical and probably uncomfortable. I don't know why you would do that. Reminds me of that kid on one of scoutthedoggie's videos with an MP5 and was holding the grip with his left hand and the stock with his right or something. Like Nickona said it's just a bad attitude / not good practice to have your finger on the trigger. We could all say 'oh well we're not stupid enough to have it loaded' etc but obviously we do it for a reason anyway. Nothing bad is likely to happen but it could so you should be careful and responsible, even if it is just a replica it's still capable of firing a pellet and regardless of where it hits someone it's still not supposed to be discharged in the safe zone or whatever. He's got eye pro on and he's at home and everything so it's fine really.

  46. I always use knee pads, yes you don't need them but you don't need mag pouches, pockets would do the job. It's nice to have the comfort of them.
