I've been telt off I have Naked SR25 with 4 mags for £100 more than you'd pay shipped with fees and taxes from Proact. Same here, around £100 more than you'd pay for the rifle and mags from Proact delivered with fees. Particularly funny the assertion that a tan VFC SCAR H is hard to come by. Apparently looking for VFCs in Gas Rifles is a cheat code to this thread...2 points -

Vague description of the item and the seller is expecting people not to ask any questions. If people are asking questions about your advert then then you probably didn't invest enough effort. Not to mention the ''upgraded this'' and the ''upgraded that'' but there are no details about the ''upgrade'' part such as brand or model. My personal favourite is the ''selling for a mate'' First of all, what prevents your mate to create an account and submit an advert. Secondly, if you do sell on behalf of someone then you'll be responsible, can't blame the ''mate'' if something turns out to be not as described and you'll have to provide after sales support. And then last but not least: The fully dressed RIF with optics, lasers, lights on the pictures but they are ''only for show''. Why the hell would you put on a full range accessories if they are not included in the sale? Nobody cares about how sexy your WADSN torch and FMA PEQ15 is ?2 points

Do tell us which section of the VCRA states that it applies to ‘shops’ only https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2006/38/section/36 A defence does cover the shops back - it covers the shop against prosecution. You are correct that possession is not an offence under the VCRA. But a private sale is not possession but the transfer of the possessed item in exchange of monetary consideration, AKA sale2 points

Just remembered another pet peeve, you see an item new in the classifieds, so you start a pm stream: ME: Hey mate, if this is still available I'll take it please.... SELLER: Yeah, still here mate..... ME: Cool, send me your PayPal & I'll send it over....... Half hour later, your message has been read, the items marked as "sold" but no reply to your earlier pm. Hour or two later...... ME: Mate, still waiting on your paypal details ?......... 2 hours later you see your message has been read, but no reply ......... 24 hour later........... ME: Dude, what's occurring, are you selling this to me or what ? Hour later, your message has been read, still no reply...... 2 days later......... SELLER: Yeah, soz man, somebody messaged before you........ WTF, SO WHY DID YOU NOT SAY SOMEONE'S SAID THEY WANT IT, BUT IF IT FALLS THROUGH YOUR NEXT IN LINE ETC. & WTF IS THE GHOSTING ABOUT ? Definitely should be a reason for negative feedback, even if it's only to wake their ignorant dumb asses up ffs.1 point

Sold a rif once and the guy disassembled it, broke the gearbox, then claimed it arrived broken. Silly bugger had already sent a message confirming it worked on arrival though, but that was still three weeks in PayPal dispute. I think that's the only one that really ground my gears. Other than that there's some funny buggers out there. Shout out to Job Lot posters, always a Perfect Starter Kit. A pile of minging gear, no splits though you're getting that one pistol you might want bundled in with a load of Amazon special, child size, full Multicam Black kit. The worst photos of the worst piles of junk going. Collection only btw.1 point -

TM MP7 has a fair few wear parts that aren't listed in those upgrades either, (there's no aftermarket, and replacement parts are scarce). The stock rails, receiver, and fire control parts are generally prone to breaking after a while and can be annoying to procure. If any of them goes, the gun is Boneyard for parts only. "High RoF" build just says wear acceleration to me tbh.1 point -
Yeah, it's the same guy, it's taken him 6+ months to setup the forum again, using the 2 year old vBulletin 5 software, instead of the latest. It might have stood a chance if he had done it right away. I doubt even the scammers will join and if they do, nothing will happen to them. It's dead, Jim.1 point

The local indoor CQB site chrono with their .20 ammo which is great as typical max engagement distance is 2-5m so they need to be extra sure you aren’t running a hot gun. You can run up to .25 for the game, the safe zone is so small you would be spotted pouring BB’s out of a .28/.30 tub (assuming you were stupid enough to bring them in the original packet) The woodland site is based on trust and will re chrono you if other players let the Marshall know they think you are running hot. Personally no idea if/how they weight the BB’s you use, I have 2xAEG’s which chrono around 320-330 fps on .20 so never been re chrono’ed on field. There are obvious and easy ways to cheat the system but as Jez said above if you cheat from the start airsoft isn’t really for you.1 point

From recent experience, that claim about selling/buying is inaccurate. With the boot sales at Shift Your RIFTs, the organisers said in no uncertain terms that private sellers have a responsibility to ensure that buyers have a valid defence to buy a RIF as the event was open to any Tom, Dick or Harry who may have sinister intentions and not just regular airsofters or novices looking to play on a regular basis. As Tackle & Rogerborg said, while checking a defence with private sales is in the minority of cases in practice and it's seldom enforced at a retail or private level when the RIF is already in the UK, shouting about your claims doesn't make them correct. The litmus test of your claim is that if enforcement of defence checking happened overnight, you'd find a lot of private sellers could be prosecuted no matter how much you shout that a defence is "not needed".1 point

Sorry yes what I meant was there's nothing to prevent me (or anyone), other than the threat of being caught. Ultimately, it's very very difficult to completely prevent people from cheating if they really want to. You just have to do everything you can to make it not worth it.1 point

Selling RIFs - VCRA Defence/UKARA Checks?
Rogerborg reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
So confident and yet so wrong. Private sales are subject to the same laws as shops, whether or not private sellers are as strict as shops is a different matter. You're right that a defence isn't needed for ownership but that's not what we're discussing here. UKARA isn't the only defence and nor is it a legal requirement. A seller just has go be satisfied that the buyer is using it to play airsoft hence why on site shops can sell to players without a site membership. If the vcra was a person it would be old enough to drink in pubs and vote. How are people still getting this wrong?1 point -
Lipo appropriate?
Lozart reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
Volts are volts. The circuit doesn't care about the chemistry of the battery. I've been using lipo batteries exclusively for the past 15 years or so and guess how many guns have had a mosfet. None and how many gins have had failures in that time? Again none. There's alot of bullshit put out about lipos and a hell of a lot of it is sales nonsense specifically designed to part the unwary from their cash by getting them to buy shit they don't need1 point -
In truth nothing is foolproof. I've been to places that give you ammo, tag your RIF etc but there would be nothing stopping me turning up an NPAS or similar in the field. I played first time round about 20 years ago, then got back into it recently, and I've never been spot-checked in the field. The only thing I've ever seen that was lairy was at DogTag last summer: a guy chronoed as a DMR (he was right in front of me in the queue), then in the field I clocked he was firing full-auto. I told a marshall, they spoke to him and reported back to me that he had turned off the semi-lock on his mosfet. They sent him home instantly. I do some marshalling at a site in the SE when I'm free and often run the chrono. Do the same checks in the chrono, tag the RIFS (and regs for HPA) then eyeball everyone out of the safezone to make sure everything is marked up. When I go out into the gaming area, I take a chrono out in my pocket and I have spot-checked people. I've yet to come across anyone doing anything silly like adjusting power post-chrono.1 point

Selling RIFs - VCRA Defence/UKARA Checks?
Dogsbody100 reacted to jaywebbo for a topic
UKARA are ONLY needed by shops. If buying or selling a rif privately they are NOT NEEDED. A UKARA OR DEFENCE is only to cover the SHOP'S back simples. At the end of the day it is NOT ILLEGAL to own a rif it's only illegal for a shop to sell one without a UKARA.1 point -

The 'What have you just bought' Thread

I was at Overlord on Sunday. Bought a couple of real Surefire M600's for £55 a pop. Also got a RS MP5 torch handguard for £35 quid and found what might be a bit of gold unicorn pooh in the shape of a MP5K handguard with a Magnalite attached. The mount was made by a company 20 miles from Hereford and the torch had some issue Duracells inside. I've never seen a picture of one and it's either probably a trials piece or a one off custom job for a job. I'll post a picture when the forum lets me. Now with a picture.1 point -

I may've bought a few things lately.. Some highly exciting maintenance stuff and some gas. A couple of nozzles for my unreliable VFC MP5K. Another ASG MP5 claw mount and a beautifully made UTG riser. Vector optics Veyron scope for my 416. Small angled vertical foregrip for my 416. I really want to hate vertical foregrips because they look awful, but they're annoyingly comfortable to use. A Vector Optics Paragon 4x prism sight for my 553. And finally, an E&C 416c with the sexiest handguard you can get for an AR; the Geissele SMR. Not sure if i'll keep it yet, i only want the handguard to go on another build. The stock is among the worst designed and most uncomfortable ones ever made.1 point -

The site will need Public Liability Insurance. Even if you sign a waiver you can still claim against the operator's insurance if you injury yourself, especially if the injury is life altering. Public liability is a bit of a minefield, which is why it is always recommended that businesses ALWAYS have at least Public Liability cover. It will always be advisable that a site operator seek legal advice, especially in regard to injury waivers or acceptance or risk documents to ensure they are valid and enforceable.1 point -

It was at 2.0 in September 2023 - extremely miffed I never got up to their original site as that looked brilliant, the 2.0 site was decidedly meh, with this situation overshadowing it. Made it so none of us of a near 20 strong group who went that time, have returned since. I contemplated going again to give it another shot, but as i'm predominantly using systems with finicky PITA to adjust hop + a pretty much 2.5 hour drive each way, i've not really got the want to try. I'd heard great things about the other CQB site over that side of Scotland, but the decidedly ill informed reasoning for an arbritrary reason for significant hindrance to those on HPA tanks + the aforementioned hop messing + a more than 3 hour drive, makes me look at the Newcastle site as the only real CQB option for me now without getting on a plane or train.0 points

Doesn't work there either. My one and only visit, had multiple people running Saiga's through chrono on the site 0.2's, then using way above the permitted 0.25's on joule creep, resulting in bb's punching through facemasks at 20ft. One of the players was a marshal, and didn't get spot checked once all day despite multiple complaints. Meanwhile, anyone who made a complaint spent the rest of the day getting spot checked every 15 minutes, despite many of us being well under the limit.0 points
