The RIF I wanted so bad, that when I joined these forums 20+ years ago, my username was 'Bison Hunter' ?. I got a custom made from a TM Beta Spetsnaz but it wasn't really skirmishable. Then I quit the hoppy and came back 15 years later to find that Bizons had basically been and gone... until Patrol Base got some stock in at the same time I got a work bonus. I've had it 3 weeks and decided I wanted to remove the stock completely and cover the exposure at the back. This required an adaptor that itself required some angle grinder attention. But now with the RK-3 grip, B-13 mount (both with funky Russian language on them), and PBS-1 can, it's almost my dream RIF. In lieu of a decent Kobra sight, I have a C More sight on the way, so the nasty one on here is a placeholder. First game on Sunday and I just can't wait! ?4 points -

Yes mate they are spot on. I am the same when it comes to fogging, I just leave them on the low setting and they keep me fog free.3 points -
Saw that HPA U.K. have the GHK Glock 17 Gen 5 in, and at a great price. Landwarrior who are the Umarex main agent apparently still don’t have them, listed as out of stock, and listed at £70 more than HPA.2 points

Enforced BB weight limit
Galvatron and one other reacted to Adolf Hamster for a topic
It's a rule that has some logic behind it, ablbeit the lazy logic of a site that finds it easier to enforce an unenforceable rule than take the steps to ensure proper chrono practice. Tl:dr is hpa/gbbr has a tendancy to joule creep, ie it can fire kosher joule-based owchie on 0.2g but significantly more than the allowable joule-based owchie on heavier rounds, so a (theoretically unsuspecting) player can pass chrono with flying colours and with no more effort than loading their preferred heavyweight ammo be dishing out unnessecary zingers to their fellow humans.2 points -

The 0.28g tracers were one of the substituted items. They asked me what wanted to do I I asked for the swaps.2 points
-
I went in yesterday at lunchtime. They have very few bb bottles left. Mostly the Perfect BLS .2s and .25s Tracer ones. I bought 6 bottles of the .3 Devils and a bunch of other stuff. They had none of the G&G or BLS.28s left. Got 2 Nuprol AK Flash Mags, couple of possibly Boneyard RIFs that they didn't have on the website, a couple of decent old stock Viper Special ops zipped jumpers they stopped making 15 years ago that I have been looking for for a while. It's just one guy left in the shop. The shutter is half down so he can concentrate on internet orders and people who are in the know can ring the shop when they are outside to be let in. Mostly to prevent browsers/time wasters. It's looking awfully empty in there. I was told that Saturday will likely be the last day they open.2 points

Their I cannot see any reason for substituting items that have been ordered. If they don’t have enough in stock, their inventory management needs to be improved; they cannot just send people something that they did not order.2 points -

Luckily, I know a fair bit and am happy to shit on his parade. TL;DR; The "upgraded" hop unit is trash with proprietary buckings which are near impossible to obtain outside of HK. The "Highly Upgraded" Is bare fucking minimum.2 points -
It's not generally accepted yet, but I'm fine with it. Above about 0.4g you have to mix in so much metal and minerals that it becomes hard to argue that we're slinging "plastic".1 point

Hello I've recently carried out an upgrade on my stock Specna Arms SA E08, upgraded to 13:1 shs gears, XT high torque motor 22TPA, new piston heads, costed around 65£, motor was only 30£. It was absolutely worth it, trigger response was amazing even without precocking. With precocking, the shots are almost instant. Though i haven't tried the gun in a full game day yet but everything has been working well so far. Mosfet, im using Perun ab++. I'd highly recommend buying parts from ak2m4, the XT brand parts are super cheap but also of good quality and also cheap next day delivery. The customer service is amazing, the guy will give you as much help as you need and answer everything.1 point

Did a search of the site to see if any news on the pre-order delivery and was surprised these had not been posted. https://trittech-us.com/ Looking at the youtube channel ballistic testing seems good and the antifog look amazing. From someone that can fog a DYE mask I use an ExFOG like system but its just a PITA with the tubes so most of the time I wear my heroshark mesh but I have astigmatism and in low light suffer. Fingers crossed they turn out as advertised.1 point -

QD gearbox Screws
strykerles reacted to The_Lord_Poncho for a topic
Do you mean the screw that connects the washer inside the buffer tube to the spring guide? From memory these are m5, but lengths vary depending on the gun....1 point -
Someone let me try their bolster tuned mp5 at my local site a month ago. It's was definitely good, don't get me wrong, but I'm not convinced it's £500-odd good. Trigger response was great, cycled a lot smoother than anything I own, and the range was good airsoft range (60m maybe a hair further - hard to see without a magnified optic but similar to most of my better guns). I just can't help but suspect you'd get most of the way there with a brushless motor, and 11.1v lipo, and a decent hop rubber. Add to that a perun with precocking and it'll be snappy AF. Perhaps you need to be a bit more of a connaseur to properly appreciate them, but if that mp5 was on sale I'd be very tempted. It's was pretty cool to shoot. They did a bolster mk23 a while ago and if you read through the parts list it was a pretty good deal from memory. Not sure on the aegs though but I'd imagine they're adding the parts at a reduced markup to make it more appealing.1 point

Yup, there are no standards in airsoft, only a series of copies of copies. A millimetre sanded off here, or shimmed in there, can be necessary.1 point
-
Exactly this! The guy at ak2m4 told me to try to find the perfect height with my thumb and found out that the base plate was too thick even when the middle screw was taken out, sanding it down made it work without overheating.1 point

Some new toys coming from VFC
KermitTheFud reacted to BenJackson for a topic
It is, but it works very similarly to the current 249. Ie, the main part of the magazine is actually a gas reservoir, and there is a casette within the magazine that holds the rounds. In this case, it has a 150rd capacity. They will come with a drum mag from standard. I believe VFC is also going to be releasing a HPA magazine from factory.1 point -

MWS or WE Open Bolt?

TM AKX et al are also empirically better than WE AK's, if not compatible with many RS parts, but then most will take a functioning gun over a pretty one.1 point -
MWS or WE Open Bolt?
Hawkeye450 reacted to GiantKiwi for a topic
Been a user of WE since the closed bolt era, but i'm now swapping to TM as I don't have to stick with a single, shit aftermarket option (note, not upgrade, aftermarket, as they're anything but upgrades). Also another consideration, WE V2 (what most retailers in the UK have in stock at the moment, and what all used sales will be) is now end of life, as V3 has been released 4-5 months ago. There isn't enough information on the reliability of V3 to be able to recommend them, and V2 parts ceased being manufactured 3 months prior to the first production runs of V3, so parts will start to become more scarce.1 point -
MWS or WE Open Bolt?
Hawkeye450 reacted to OREVREV for a topic
Modern stuff is cool, but consider a classic M4A1, I spent loads on bits over the years but ended up full circle and it's actually my favourite mostly tm stock parts, the BCM is VFC with real BCM rail, buffer, grip stock, steel barrel, 4UAD hop unit etc, but just can't beat the GWOT look and the performance of the mws.1 point -

Trittech Shooting Glasses With Built In Fan.
KermitTheFud reacted to MistakenMexican for a topic
Heads up for those interested. I bought some trittech glasses from Fife wargames. They arrived next working day and I’m happy with them. I dropped them a quick email to ask about extra lenses and Oli has highlighted they have another order of trittech stock coming in around 3-4 weeks time. The price is fair - would cost you £5 more to order from Trittech directly once you consider postage for both orders. Either way you’ll be waiting 3-4 weeks to receive them I guess?1 point
