Buying a GBBR from japan.
Tommikka and 2 others reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
Sorry but a TM glock 17 posted from the far east to the UK for £89 posted? There's no way that's legitimate. Also, as posted earlier, the company details don't match up to those of TM (who are famous for not giving 2 shits about the market outside of Japan). Checking the shop's details against Google maps shows that the address listed is a block of flats and the location marked on the map is a fashion store3 points -

I am pretty certain that is not a TM website; a lot of the information on there does not match that on the TM website or their company details.2 points -
No idea if that site is a legit seller but they are nothing to do with Tokyo Marui. They famously have nothing to do with anything outside Japan.2 points

Tokyo Marui only have (To my knowledge) one site. https://www.tokyo-marui.co.jp For a prolific company known to be out of Japan, I'd be sceptical of a website operating out of "Martigny, Switzerland"2 points

Are you sure that's really their site? It's very different to their official site Bigstew posted and tbh I'd expect TM to have a site that looks like it was made later than 1998. Have you considered to postage cost? This often brings the total cost up to similar to UK prices2 points -
While i love TM kit above anything else, if i was looking for a full metal variant, I'd rate KJW stuff way above the the likes of WE etc.2 points

I think they got an unfair reputation, along with the Bandit. I never tried a Divvy but a 600 Bandit could easily run out of road before you ran out of bike. When Honda released the CB650F in 2014, journos coomed over it - "Finally, a middleweight IL4 among all the twins!". Suzuki and Yamaha: "Are we a joke to you?" "Probably an easy fix, just not got the time" ? I'd take a careful now approach to that: you could be spending a lot of time wresting with carb rubbers that have hardened to the consistency of adamantium.2 points -
Not bought from TM direct but imported a bunch of GBBR’s from KyAirsoft and WGCShop. Rarely get hit with customs fees, however in the past when I have had customs fees it tends to be sitting around for roughly a week and then I get sent the cost to pay. I always ask the sellers to write “UKARA: “ with my ukara number visibly on the box and make sure to get it sent to the same address linked to my ukara. Never had an issues other than the customs fee and holding, and must have had at least 15 replicas posted. Ironically I’ve had customs fees on more part orders (As in, a bunch of pew parts like handguards etc) than the actual replicas.2 points

You're not wrong. I was supposed to start a job in Acton, NW london and living, as i was at that point in gravesend, SE london and out a bit more, i figured that a sensible commuter bike was in order. There was a 6 month waiting list for Bandits so that went out the window. The XJ was alright, not setting any lap times and not overly exciting but it was bright yellow and filled a gap. Unfortunately the job fell through (legal bullshit ensued!!) and i ended up with the Divvy. Meh. Minor update: might have the option of a 1989 CBR1000 in shellsuit colours....Non runner but clean....2 points

Xtreme Tactical Ltd ebay seller
Xtreme Tactical and one other reacted to bladerunner168 for a topic
Another happy customer to vouch for @Xtreme Tactical. Again, I have no affiliation with the company whatsoever. Put simply, I've had no problems with this company, every time I have ordered from them, service has been on point. The products I bought were genuine and items arrived on time as advertised. I don't know or understand the beef that occured earlier on in this thread, I'm simply here to say the Xtreme Tactical is a reliable seller. I've attached some orders that I could find, (eBay records only goes back to 2017 for me). The reason why there are no further orders after 2019 is because I left the UK. For full transparancy, @blobface and I are on the same WhatsApp group and I also came here to speak up after he DM me. Let's get real, there are much greater opportunities to benefit from scams than "pretending" to be a RS optics/accessories seller. RS gear is such a niche market in the UK, we need to really support the good and reliable sellers like @Xtreme Tactical.2 points -

One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong... Related, my daughter has just done a bike taster session and is booking her CBT. I swear, hand on heart, I had nothing to do with it and didn't encourage or suggest it, although Mrs Borg remains unconvinced of my innocence. 🗡️👀 So of course now I'm Gumtree shopping for 125s for me her. Miss Borg was given a Sinnis Terrain (luggage still fitted), which is a big old top-heavy lump of a 125 for a small human, and she promptly dropped it. Good looking bikes though, and a training school running a fleet of them is a solid recommendation. They then switched her to a Benelli TNT 125 that she got on with much better, and I have to say, sort of want. Marketing and review pictures suggest that front tyre wear will be minimal. We'll probably end up with something dull like a CB125F though, just based on availability, budget and insurance. Oof, I remember when 17 year olds get could cover for ten bob, and still have change for a slap up meal at Mrs Miggins' Pie Shoppe.2 points -
I’ve always been a 226 fan, having used all three pistols the army’s issued over the last 20 years - the Browning HP was nice but a bit small, the Glock’s good but I always found it a bit boxy, the 226 was a nice chunky feeling pistol that just worked for me. So I’m looking at reliving my Herrick days and getting a new sidearm. Obviously, everybody raves about the TM and it’s 1-1, but it’s plastic and not full weight. What other decent options are there out there that fit the 1-1, metal, realistic weight criteria…?1 point

Importing is such fun Cost wise take into account the full purchase cost plus postage, and allow for variable currency exchange rates depending on whether or not they charge an international £ price or your bank/card issuer converts - and the timing that they use to charge the conversion Those are the easy bits If you are very lucky the overseas retailer will be registered for UK VAT to cover UK sales over £135 and they annotate declarations appropriately - therefore customs treat it as if you bought in the UK But this costs them money and probably isn’t worth the effort. So add on 20%, but not necessarily to the declared sale + postage total converted at ‘todays’ rates on arrival. Packages may get reassessed to a UK equivalent price and VAT charged on that You shouldn’t get actual customs charges - but check the gov.uk website for the latest on item categories As the border handling carrier will be dealing with the assessment they will add their carrier handling fee. This could be a fixed price across a range of amounts depending on carrier, or it could be a percentage charge against the assessed value Add all those together, plus time and worry whilst watching tracking status and you will most likely be in the ballpark of a UK retail price (or more) ……… If what you want is not listed in the UK then start by calling some retailers and they may import on your behalf via their suppliers, commercial importing also comes at a cost but handled at a greater scale and they would be paying trade prices. A special import on your behalf may cost more than an equivalent UK retail item, but it comes with more peace of mind plus their risk. This also supports UK retail and gives you a point of contact for any issues ……. If you’re looking to save on UK retail then you often don’t really save anything or a much smaller amount saved than expected …….. Sometimes though it’s a matter of getting that special thing that isn’t available in the UK, or to be first to get it - but sometimes trying to be first ends up being last when it’s sat in a depot awaiting document clearance (Last year I spent $295 plus almost £60 in charges(£45.73 import VAT, £12 handling) with 3 weeks in transit / handling …. And picked it up at the depot on the way to the event I wanted to use it at, only just beating it being released for delivery.) * I used it twice last year and will be using it twice this year - £300 plus some worry so that I could ‘be that guy’ with the unique niche product There is also another elephant in the room - will it arrive to UK spec, and will it get identified as over powered at customs ? * little correction that I just remembered. I didn’t ‘beat’ the release for delivery, I was watching the tracking status wondering if it would clear in time for onward delivery - which it didn’t, and was in fairly regular contact with the help desk including clarifying if it would stay in situ once the final charge was calculated or get forwarded to my local sorting office. It was cleared on the evening before / morning of the day that I was leaving and a minor diversion on my route so I managed to pay and collect in person at Basingstoke on my way from Salisbury to London1 point

Don't overestimate how shyte Japanese websites can be. Here is a link to massive store that sells everything from booze to washing machines, toys, electronics. https://www.biccamera.co.jp/shopguide/report/leaflet/index.html?ref=shop-foot I can't tell you how painful it was last year trying to set up a web domain and email system for my father in-law. I have an SR15 mlok rail for sale, bought as part of a new rif purchase but not needed as the base rifle has been rebuilt into a KS-1. This rail has never been out of the house and removed instantly on receipt of the rifle. Its the 13'' rail (in lenght) and has ris along the top only. is mounted by screwing directly onto the m4/ armalite reciever. I live on the Isle of wight, so with planning can drop off to Portsmouth, Southampton or Lymington ferries, for a cash in hand/ collection, otherwise this will obviously need to all be posted. because it has a bladed weapon this needs to go to someone over the age of 18 (or not be included in the transaction). I am after £90 plus £10 postage, UK sales only. Thanks for your time.£90

Yep. Standard nub that came with it and a 50 degree flamingo with a 131mm 6.04 crazy jet barrel. I only have the hop up wheel at about 1.5 for a lovely trajectory on .32s and it goes up to 9, so I reckon I could hop .48s with it if I needed to (I don't need to...). Effective range is still around the 45 - 50m mark with the .32s, especially when shooting with a well-zeroed red dot, but if I see someone at 60m I'm confident I could empty a magazine and one would probably hit them Personally, I'd keep the standard nub unless I was doing some sort of carbine DMR build with it and wanted to put .48s through it. As I said, I'm at 1.5 on the hop wheel (it goes 0 - 9) for .32s, so using the standard nub gives me a bit of wiggle room if I go to a CQB site where they limit BB weight. With a harder nub, it may even over-hop .32s unless I put maybe a 60 degree Flamingo rubber in it.1 point

So I will 100% vouch for the new Nexxspeed AAP hop unit. I had a Loki in mine and it was a bit shaky, as it was installed a fraction of a millimetre off-centre, so all my shots were curving slightly to the side. I bought the new Nexxspeed unit after the one in my hi-capa was a phenomenal piece of kit and the AAP one is just as good, if not better. With a 50 degree Flamingo rubber, mine was sailing .32s out past 60m (only really accurate to 50m) with very little hop up applied. I could probably put .48s through it and hop them very nicely, but I'm not an asshole so I won't. Also, with the short stroke and lightweight blowback unit it splurges the entire mag in under a second when the fun switch is flicked on and with .48s that'd probably bankrupt me within a game. Won't be using the full auto much (just for a few people who deserve it ), but on semi-auto it was also getting through 4 mags on a single fill today, shooting quickly and one after the other, so I reckon that'll be fine even into winter. All in all, I'm super happy with the build now that the Nexxspeed unit is in. Pistol build complete1 point

Specna Arms G36 Edge Gearbox issue

I hate it when my shaft slips out of the hole, it really puts me off my stroke. Sorry, I can't place the gearbox, but it's got what looks like the handy decocker / unlocker on it which should narrow it down for G36 afficionados. It shouldn't really matter, as gears are one of the few things that most manufacturers agree on, and are generic between V2 or V3 (or V6) gearboxen. So I'd go ahead and replace all 3 gears as a set. SHS, ZCI, whatever you fancy, along with a set of shims.1 point -
