  1. Decided, for the first time, to try the January sales and it's doing my head in! Went to Boots, they don't sell boots.. Went to Currys, they don't sell curry.. Went to Selfridges, they don't sell fridges.. As for Virgin Megastore, what a let down that was!

  2. One thing bought, and one thing won! Crimping tool from eBay (hopefully I'll get my CA M15A3 running again), and OhShiBoom OMFG grenade won from Airsoft Competitions, which will come in damned useful once the Spec Ops CQB site is up-and-running next month!

  6. Thanks for breaking it down for us, tbh I hadn't looked at the details of it. This puts me off even more as to me it's a bit misleading to post the prize as £100k when in reality that's the whole prize fund. Unfortunately those of us who've been in the hobby for a while have seen many events touted as being the best ever and game changers, only for 99.9% of them to turn out to be a total clusterfuck. If this does turn out to be in the 0.1% I'll happily admit to being wrong but I won't hold my breath. Training for marshals? 😂😂😂😂 Is there anyone on here who has been a marshal and ever had any training?

    What have you made?

Got my Son a 3d printer for Christmas which is getting thrashed, I don't think it's stopped printing for a week now. Printed a few airsoft bits and bobs including this visor stock and a couple of odin adaptors.

  10. Mickey Mouse is having a nasty divorce with Minnie Mouse. Mickey spoke to the judge about the separation. "I'm sorry Mickey, but I can't legally separate you two on the grounds that Minnie is mentally insane..." Mickey replied, "I didn't say she was mentally insane, I said that she's fucking goofy!"

  11. Did the standard skirmish day at gunman tuddenham today with a mate, in previous years the after Xmas skirmish has seen over 100 players.....today started around 40 and dropped as the day progressed to around 20, which is super low for tuddenham. I loved the day though, pure skirmish great hit taking and sportsmanship. The games were different, used areas in ways I haven't seen them before and new to me games. For some reason, it all just clicked and the day felt like it was on easy mode. Some good positioning, lucky shooting and some blind luck just made everything go my way. Most fun day of airsoft for about 12-18 months.

  13. Strangely, I was not mates with any of the ones I marshalled for; I regarded the first (a husband and wife team) with contempt and tolerated the others.

  14. Unfortunately, the answer to your question rather depends on what spring is in there now giving you 350FPS. If it is an M100, an M90 or M95 should do the trick; however, it is impossible to give an accurate answer. The XT springs from AK2M4 are very good. https://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/springs

  15. I take it you want to get down to under 1 joule/328fps with a .2? If so you'll need a M95 or M100 spring. A M100 should give about 325 fps* but this is only a ballpark figure so you could get above 330*. To err on the side of caution fitting a M95 would give around the 310* mark. IMO that few extra fps won't make any noticable difference and you know you're going to be under site limits so I'd go for a M95 *with a .2g bb

  18. Well it all sounds very exciting , my spideysense says it’s all smoke and mirrors though to try and generate some sort of kickstart investment with the illusion that there is plenty of money in the pot already .

  19. We may end up being pleasantly surprised and eating humble pie; however, this venture gives the impression of being somewhat overoptimistic and likely to disappoint. When claims of rewards on this scale are being made by a team who seem to have suddenly appeared on the scene, a healthy level of scepticism is required.

  20. It's a shame that we are so prepared for it to fail. This is exactly the kind of thing we, as a sport/hobby, need to get us some positive media attention. Maybe lessons will be learnt for the next one, or we might just be surprised how well run and organised it is! I suspect pigs might fly but it would be nice!

  22. Decided to have a look into this as have a mate near Cheltenham and though it might be interesting to check out having read through as much as I could on their site this event seems weird to say the least. The price of standard play entry seems a bit of a red flag due to just how low it is £100 for 5 days of airsoft, 4 nights of camping and other entertainment, that's £20 a day, you'd be lucky to find a site that would run a standard 6-8hr game for that price let alone a big event. Reading through the tournament rules though is where this get wild to me though, as while it is possible that a team could win the £100,000 the odds are on the impossible side, this isn't a simple knockout style tournament winner takes the cash. To quickly (as possible) summarize how the 'tournament' works (as best I understand it) there are 10 'heats' over 2 days, these heats are more like challenges though test your aim, team building, etc. where teams can score a maximum of 10 points per 'heat' (100 points total), at the end of the second day the top 4 scoring teams will enter into a knockout style playoff. Now the team that wins the playoffs doesn't instantly win the money they only have a chance to win it, the winning team then needs to play against the 5th - 15th place teams (so a team of 8 against a possible team of 80) if the team of 8 complete all the objectives in the final game they win the £100,000, if the opposing team of 80 wins the money is split among them. However the team of 80 can only get a cut of that money up to £1250 and they must survive to get anything so if only 20 people from that team of 80 survives only 20 x £1250 = £25,000 is handed out. HOWEVER if the team of 8 completes some of the objectives then the £1250 each player receives is decreased for each objective they complete e.g. if there are 5 objectives and 3 are completed and 20 players from the team of 80 survive and each objective knock off £250 then the winnings handed out will be (20 x (1250 - (3 x 250))) = £10,000. Feel free to double check this with the website https://www.operation-scorpio.net/programme as it took me quite a while to wrap my head around it so may well have missed something but that was as best I could understand it. So the only way £100,000 is getting handed out is if one team of 8 takes on and defeats 80 players or 80 players successfully hold x number of objectives without a single player going down.

    Ak Burst Problem

Just had this 'burst fire' issues on my G&G RK74-E. The issue was the cut off leaver was in the incorrect position when I put the gearbox back together. When I made the adjustment both single and auto worked without any other work. Just wanted to put there here in case anyone else has the same issue in the future!

  26. Well, as an addendum to the above, I'm certain there will be a couple of teams of stripy socked speedsofters, buzzing on Monster and testosterone from their one descended testicle, and pre-firing every corner with a solid stream of glowing jizz-balls from their ghostbusted hi-capa with a 2 gram trigger. Which is absolutely fine as long as it's consensual and everybody has the same expectations. But without a crystal clear set of rules, guidelines and tone-setting, I can see tears before endex.

The gun is in good working condition, the upper has had some model paint applied and partially removed for a subtle “worn” effect but otherwise everything is like new. The PEQ, optic and light all function well also. I would ideally like to sell this as a complete package but will consider splits for mags/ attachments etc. Current price is inclusive of the entire package! Open to swaps/ PX for a VFC V3 GBBR Please PM with any offers or questions Thanks! EDIT: have had a lot of interest in the mags so would be happy to sell the entire package with 1 mag for £650

  32. Pic dump of my latest child. TM MWS in a Fortis receiver with B.A.D & Strike Industries furniture, other than the F1 grip. Last pic was with a Vortex Venom in a Strike Industries REX, but would benefit from a riser. The trigger box pin & anti rotation links weren't installed in that photo. Went a little over budget with this one, a couple of times, but it worked out!

  33. Well, short n sweet Hogmanay game at The Depot, indoor site My first visit there and my first indoor game. Got to say I will definitely be back, left the house at 6:30 for a 1:20 drive to Port Glasgow. Used the Sig 553 which performed flawlessly, indoor temp was probably around 5 deg C , there was a good 6 inches of snow on the ground outside, so the place was chilly and not much warmer inside. Had to adjust the Npas to get it below 350 and they only allow up to .25’s But no dramas, and had a cracking laugh. I ended my day early as I had gone over my ankle in Oct and it’s still giving me a bit of pain, so called it quits one game after lunch. My aeg only came out to get chrono’d for just in case! Absolutely massive place, pyro’s going off everywhere so my noise cancelling headset was being used to good effect And what with the Smokey afterboom really highlighted tracers and torches Fucking SUPERB 👍 Pics taken at the quiet end, didn’t want my phone shot out! 🥴

  34. Today, the lad and I, with some trepidation, pootled down to the wonderfully named Featherbed Lane, which is home to Tactical Warfare Airsoft (TWA). As some may know, this site has a somewhat mixed reputation for a range of reasons, most of which relate to its proximity to the chav haven that is Croydon. Having had both good and bad experiences there in the past, we had set our expectations accordingly and were prepared to be disappointed. Attendance was low at around 40 players and, as the site also does morning and afternoon bookings, the lineups changed throughout the day. Players were a good mixture of the experienced, the relative newcomers and the complete beginners, that latter being a group of eight. Even Father Christmas turned up but left by lunchtime, leaving a candy cane on everyone's gun bags. TWA has a rather decent safezone, although the wind kept finding ways in. The old and rather disgusting dunny had been replaced by what appeared to be decent toilets, although we did not check them out. After chronoing and a nicely short but complete safety brief, we went out for the first game, which was in the CQB village. We were the attackers and had to reach and defuse a bomb, which required holding down a button for 20 seconds; any interruption reset the timer. We had infinite regens on our starting point, while the defenders had two lives. Our attack was a little disjointed and we failed to set off the timer, mainly because the chap who eventually reached it got shot after about 15 seconds. This game was then turned around and, to our shame, the other team completed the mission quite handily. After this, we went into the woods for a fallback game; we were the defenders and had one life in each of Badger Base, Jungle Base and The Pit, the latter of which is not another name for Croydon; it is literally a large pit with structures in the bottom and halfway up one side. Attackers had infinite lives with a 30 pace fallback each time they were hit. We put up a decent fight and fought hard for each position, but were eventually and inevitably wiped out at each location. In the return, we struggled to take Badger Base and just about managed to take Jungle Base before we ran out of time, leaving the Pit unmolested. Luncheon was then taken, consisting of cold pizza for us (Yum!) and veggie or meat burgers and chips for those who did not bring their own food. After lunch, there was a rather silly and pointless game of "everyone against the unkillable marshal" in the CQB village which, while amusing, was somewhat a waste of time. We then moved back to the area around Badger Base for a game of domination, with the aim being to have a player or players in the Foxhole at the end of the game. Neither team could advance past the Foxhole. Regens were infinite and involved returning to your starting point. This was great fun, with lots of action and several great runs at the Foxhole by players from both sides; I have no idea who won. This was then turned around and was even more fun because I prefer playing from the far end. On one occasion, while returning from regen, there was a distinct sound of real gunfire from just over the next hill; it was too close to be from Croydon. Again, I have no idea who won; I was too busy enjoying myself and shooting people. After this, we returned to the CQB village for a game of "Hunt the Barrels"; the attackers had to recover three barrels from the village and get them back to their regen. Attackers had infinite lives on their start point and defenders had two lives on a buddy regen. This was a great game, with lots of action and good play by both sides, which ended with the attackers stealing three barrels from us, as they were intended to do. However, by this stage, a few players were becoming rather salty and we decided to leave before the game was turned around. Overall, the day was far better than we had feared it might be; it was a fun day of old fashioned airsoft. The approach to marshalling seemed to have changed for the better and the only real issue was some appalling hit taking by a small minority of players on both sides, which saw the marshals resorting to taking test kills. The day was well run and the games, with one exception, were well thought out and appropriate for the numbers present. On the basis of today, we would definitely go back, which was a slightly surprising, but rather pleasant, outcome to our last game of 2023.

  35. Unless your radio came pre-programmed on PMR446 channels (unlikely), I'd recommend when you get some spare time that that you re-programme your radios onto those licence free frequencies. Not that I am personally fussed about licences etc (and lets face it, the Baofengs don't comply with most of the other PMR446 rules) , but as the Baofengs have such a broad frequency range, there is a possibility that your signals could be interfering with other licenced frequencies that are used for somewhat safety critical operations (not the emergency services these days, but maybe e.g. hospital porters, warehouses, public transport, event security etc.). PMR 446 frequencies found in the bottom of this page if interested: https://www.radiotrader.co.uk/news/facts-about-licence-free-radios.htm#PMR446 Frequencies
