Well, short n sweet Hogmanay game at The Depot, indoor site My first visit there and my first indoor game. Got to say I will definitely be back, left the house at 6:30 for a 1:20 drive to Port Glasgow. Used the Sig 553 which performed flawlessly, indoor temp was probably around 5 deg C , there was a good 6 inches of snow on the ground outside, so the place was chilly and not much warmer inside. Had to adjust the Npas to get it below 350 and they only allow up to .25’s But no dramas, and had a cracking laugh. I ended my day early as I had gone over my ankle in Oct and it’s still giving me a bit of pain, so called it quits one game after lunch. My aeg only came out to get chrono’d for just in case! Absolutely massive place, pyro’s going off everywhere so my noise cancelling headset was being used to good effect And what with the Smokey afterboom really highlighted tracers and torches Fucking SUPERB 👍 Pics taken at the quiet end, didn’t want my phone shot out! 🥴3 points -

There are multiple bits of the chat going back and forth so I'll give you all the TL:DR version. He offered me 3 guns. 2 of which I was interested in. I asked for additional photos and videos. The asking price was £900 for the pair which would have been at the very top of the budget, so I wanted to make sure they were in the very top of condition. All new photos were photoshops of previous photos. The videos were indistinguishable as they were in the dark, shooting tracer. After confirming my suspicions, I called him on it and he confessed. Be wary boys and girls. Happy new year to you all.2 points -

@Grayz1980, no need to suffer with the plantar fascitis, get your gp to refer you to community orthopedics in your area, & then immediately chase them up, tell them it's affecting your ability to go to work & causing massive financial strain, they'll rush through an appointment & you'll probably be offered an injection at your first consult, it hurts like a mofo but usually works within days. They can probably assess the other issues & advise on best course of treatment to go for. But that's not to say don't consider the private route too, it'll be a quicker way to get custom made insoles for your arch problems, but not cheap. Regarding footwear, no two feet are the same, we can all advise you on good quality stuff that suits US, but might not suit you. In my youth as a young squaddie I could wear literally anything bootshaped & still outrun a greyhound while wearing full combat loadout, but nowadays, years of injuries & wear/tear have screwed them royally, had plantar a few times on both feet(never went on its own, Always needed medical intervention), broken bones (currently nursing 2 fractures in my 1st metatarsal that occurred in March & still not healed😭), & a crush injury more than a decade ago that needed two ops, the second removed a toe, & still gives problems. My own personal choice in boots currently are Belleville TRU minimalist, super light, cross between a combat boot & a boxing boot, awesome for me, but whether they'd suit you is anyone's guess. Good luck, it's gonna be a bit of a journey for you. 👍🤞2 points

PS5 is way better than PS4. I have both. HDMI 2.1 really makes the most of the graphics too. Am more into GT7 / racing sims, so can’t really pass comment on the shooters, mate recommended me one yesterday but can’t remember which one it was.1 point

I’ve got a pair of Lowa Z8’s and I love them, however as many have said my feet aren’t your feet! I also found Scarpa’s to be really comfy, so maybe they might not be good for you as a result? I used to play in Magnum’s when they were really cheap, but looking back I should have spent the money and played in something of decent quality like Lowa, Scarpa, Meindl, or Salomon. Doing so would have reduced the odd issues I have now. It’s going to be a bit of a mission to get the right boot, but once you’ve found a brand (and therefore last) that works for you stick with it. Personally I’ll only ever buy Lowa again as I know they fit me like a glove. Without wanting to dismiss your issues, and without want to sound patronising are you drinking enough when you’re playing? I work on my feet all day, and when I’m dehydrated my feet bloody kill me regardless of the footwear I’m wearing. Making sure I was well hydrated meant that any pain in my feet was due to being old and fat!1 point

The internal movement 29.7mm*91.8mm, can be fitted with a muffler larger than suppressor, the use of soot drive and 3.7V lithium battery drive, the principle is electric heating oil to produce smoke, through the vibration sensor to light the LED light bulb, have not heard of it has serious failure. Exactly. Really not huge. It’s a small briefcase. I should’ve clarified, I bring my kit to safe zones, but mainly it’s for when me and a few buddies drive out into the mountains and play. We happen to know a guy who knows a guy who gave us permission to play on certain public land tracts, and if we drive two hours and something breaks down I like to be able to fix it.1 point -
Sniper path feedback
two_zero reacted to Speedy Sloth for a topic
As someone who's upgraded an type96, I can't say it was worth it over getting a good ootb rifle. When your upgrading your always chasing the next upgrade part or troubleshooting something it seems. Go back 3-4 years and their wasn't really any decent ootb choices. But nowadays with silverback, ASG/Modify and Nov having good field ready options the upgrade path is harder to justify for a lot of players. If you want 100% perfection than building and months of tinkering is your only way, if you are happy with 90-95% than just buy a high end ootb option. Resale on high end is generally better than a custom build if you change your mind as well.1 point -

A male patient is lying in bed in the hospital, wearing an oxygen mask over his mouth and nose. A young student nurse appears and gives him a partial sponge bath. "Nurse,"' he mumbles from behind the mask, "are my testicles black?" Embarrassed, the young nurse replies, "I don't know, Sir. I'm only here to wash your upper body and feet." He struggles to ask again, "Nurse, please check for me. Are my testicles black?" Concerned that he might elevate his blood pressure and heart rate from worrying about his testicles, she overcomes her embarrassment and pulls back the covers. She raises his gown, holds his manhood in one hand and his testicles gently in the other. She looks very closely and says, "There's nothing wrong with them, Sir. They look fine." The man slowly pulls off his oxygen mask, smiles at her, and says very slowly, "Thank you very much. That was wonderful. Now listen very, very closely, Are my test results back?"1 point -

Seems to me like you turned down a cracking deal. He'd wash your singular airsoft boot for free. On the topic of him, he also tried to scam me a while back with a HPA M16A1. Using images from elsewhere and couldn't really give an answer to any of my questions.1 point

Latest acquisition for Christmas. Saw it and found the concept interesting, but won't be able to test it until the new year. Don't know if I should have gone for the slightly longer version, as the short one seems to be lower powered than advertised; around 1.6J Vs the stated 1.9J, but I'll try it and see! *Edit: just tried it again with heavier ammo and an Action army VSR mag and it's now up to around 1.9 to 2J, so more than adequate. I don't know if it's just joule creep, the AA mag seating in better, or the thing's just warming up now but it seems to have improved. Can't wait to try it out, the thing is just so ridiculously light though!1 point

Got to say I’ve had great service from Sixmm recently. Ordered some valves which made it from Hong Kong to my local delivery office in just over a week, only for Royal Mail to lose the package in the final three miles. I contacted Sixmm with the details and they sent out another package which arrived safely this time, again really quickly given the time of year. Reckon I’ll be using them again shortly.1 point

APS UAR v2 Review
Galvatron reacted to Ebeneezer Goode for a topic
Well, been a while since I've done this review, and with plenty of skirmishing and several thousand rounds through it I thought I'd update the review. Firstly, I've added a 200mm CYMA suppressor which changes the "crack" of the pellet leaving the barrel to a dull "thud" and looks a bit more space-marine-beefcake, along with a basic RDS and faux-PEQ (actually just a very bright LED lamp). Also I've used my favourite Halfords OD paint and lacquer for a distinct two-tone OD and black scheme which matches my loadout and added some markings with white permanent marker. I'm currently using 380rnd Battleaxe hicaps with a useful capacity check window which, along with most other mags, work a treat following a mag well mod - more on that later. What's with the "league" markings? A nod to my favourite computer game back in the day, Colony Wars: Vengeance and the logo of one of the factions in the game, the League Of Free Worlds, which I also have on my brain bucket and tac vest; tragically sad and geeky according to Mrs. Goode. I'm not going to argue. Secondly, the mag well mod; the UAR is notoriously picky due to an awkwardly-designed magwell, the one flaw in am otherwise excellent design IMO. I dremelled away the pointless spring-catch at the top of the mag well which pushed many mags out and caused them to fail to feed and added a strip of velcro at the rear guide to improve the mag fit. Have tried various mid and hi cap designs and all fit and feed perfectly well now. I'd say this is a must if you are going to have any hope of using STANAG mags other than the ludicrously expensive and hard to find U-Mags supplied with the gun. So, how has it held up? Mostly rather well, and it remains my firm favourite gun. Internally it is completely standard and the supplied hop works well with good range and consistently shot at 1J (I use 0.25g Bios); I reckon I've put around 6-7000 rounds through it so far. Recently however (past month) a slight air leak has developed around the hop resulting in a drop to 0.85J, a slight improvement was made using some grease however I will look to sort properly using some tape (failing that a new hop rubber which wont cost much at all). The internals otherwise seem robust enough and overall its a good all-rounder as any airsoft rifle should be. I use a VP Racing 1600mAh NiMH battery which gives a ROF of around 15rps which is perfectly adequate and is enough to last for a day's skirmish. Battery space in the butt is limited however so it won't take a bigger battery and LiPos may be an issue for that reason. It's a reasonably light gun so not too taxing to lug around all day, I've come to really appreciate the ergonomic features such as the ample rail space, comfortable shooting position, big trigger guard, ambidextrous controls (handy for shooting off-hand) and the rearward weight balance which I like a lot. Its also pretty short so handy to transport and wield around the woods or indoors. The fact it uses M4 magazines is a boon too, however the mod above is essential to avoid any aggro. Construction-wise is mixed; it's well enough put together, the internals seem solid enough however the external plastic isn't the best and a chip/crack has developed at the butt. That said its survived various skirmishes, collisions with trees and vegetation and being slung roughly in my motorcycle rucksack when being transported to and from skirmishes so it's holding up enough, however the cheap feel to the external plastics is a reminder that it is a budget gun so probably best not to fling it about. The one thing that us very positive is its very easy to take apart and put back together again - useful for maintenance. The gearbox also has a quick change design for the spring, another highly practical and useful feature, one of the many of this gun. In short, it's a very easy design to live with, packed full of many useful, practical features that work well in practice and it's a good-performing gun. Aside from the slightly cheap plastic used and the daft design of the mag well I'd say it's perfect for anyone looking for a very practical, cost effective rifle that is a good all rounder and that isn't an M4 yet can take the M4 mags your mates (or your other guns) use. It's something a bit different and definitely scratches that sci fi itch if you have it. Couple of posey action shots for reference. My advice - highly recommended. Ebeneezer G1 point
