  1. Not a single one of my RIF's has a mosfet ( more bloody electronics to go wrong , I hate tech ! ) and they all run 7.4 Lipo's . Biggest thing to be aware of is not over discharging the battery. If I use the same gun all day I change the battery at lunch time.

  4. Most of, if not all ?, of my guns are older generation kit, before mosfets became a "thing", & I run them all on 7.4 lipo's without any issues, did have an 11.1 but stopped using it as it spun everything waay to quickly for my liking.

One of the things I found during my first few games is that I was finishing the day with a headache, although I was packing litres of water away during the day and having lunch. Unfortunately water doesn't replace the electrolytes you use during the game and lose through sweating. I take a 4 pack of lucozade sport now, as they were my go to drink when I used to play football, finish the day headache free now!

  8. G&P RIS Rail and G&P scope mount fit fine. A saddle bag 7.4v Lipo can be fitted in the front RIS however I might need to shorten the wires slightly for it to look a bit better. *edit - A suystema TW5 full stock will fit with a bit of dremeling or sanding.

  9. @Vialli, definitely get 7.4v Li-Po's [1300mAh or higher that will fit] ...and a good charger. (SkyRC S60) Of my 16 AEGs, only one has a MOSFET. All use 7.4v except the Lonex BAW which uses 11.1v because of the recoil system but it doesn't have a MOSFET. The main downside of not using a MOSFET is arching on the trigger contacts will eventually damage the surfaces possibly to the point of not making good contact anymore but that would take a VERY long time. Using 11.1v will obviously accelerate the process so I'll have to keep an eye on that but even so it will take a long time to have a noticeable effect. Pulling the trigger slowly is worse for this situation.

  10. Yeah but I really can't understand that. What's not to like? For myself I pay my money, get dressed up go along have a great time, chat, drink some coffee and maybe get a few hits during the day which is a bonus. I'm under no illusions as to my abilities. I may as well have a flashing beacon on my head because my prowess at concealment is sadly lacking. I can't lay down( I would probably have a sleep if I did),kneeling is a pain and there are very few trees wide enough or my shape as to provide cover lol. But I'm not there to win prizes for fashion or form. It's because I like it. ? Regards

    Gun picture thread

The new TM NGRS mp5. Had my first game last Sunday with it and as with all TM guns it obviously shoots amazing out the box but with the new MOSFET system, just a huge improvement on trigger response and no lock ups on semi which essentially saves the need for a titan. Trigger pull is short which is nice with good spring tension and the fire selector has a firm click and no play between each setting which is unlike any other AEG mp5 unless your lucky enough to have a TW5. Converted to a SD straight out the box as that's my preferred mp5 variant. I jubilee clip a lower kac rail with a stubby tango grip and looking at sourcing a eotech for the devgru look. As my user name suggests I love mp5s grew up seeing them in films and TV shows, I normally run a MWS as performance wise it's hard to beat but the build quality and performance of the mp5 is outstanding so I bumped the FPS up out the box so its now up there with the MWS and I personally feel like the MWS will start gathering dust now ha.

    TM MP5 NGRS Owners

Yes did build up a SD6. Finished it last night came out lovely. Wasn't too hard to build if you can get original ICS parts and have access to a lathe to build an adapter. Longer barrel and new spring bumped my FPS up too 340 so looking forward to using it tomorrow for its first outing. Also fitted my magpul guard and gemtech QD suppressor from my other ngrs mp5 I built myself to see what fitted and they went straight on. I have a real steel sliding stock that I wanna try out but I think only the rails of the stock will fit with some milling so I might stick with the original as it's way more solid than any sliding stock on Rif.

Sure you can mention me, buddy. I'm 6ft 2, average build floating towards the dad bod, and I don't know if it's cuz I've hit mid 30s but I've noticed I've started to sweat more than a glassblowers arse while doing exercise! I've kept off the sugar loaded fizzy drinks, hence why the coke zero I took the following month did naff all! Would recommend the raspberry lucozade sport over the orange tho ??

  21. Fun fact (not really but you’ll get it ?) if using a lipo alarm always remove it at the end of the day because if you don’t within a couple of days it will have killed your battery ! ?it draws a minute amount of power so if your Batt is depleted from use it’s just enough to end your battery . Rather ironic really that the alarm that’s supposed to protect your batteries will kill them if left unsupervised ! ?‍♂️

  27. That’s fair, come to think of it I can probably come up with a fair few hobbies where it’s the ‘retail therapy’ side of things that folks are into more than the thing you’ve bought them to do. With that said, I still don’t understand it at all! I wish I could put my old fart hat on and blame it all on social media, but it’s been the same for as long as I can remember so I dare say that isn’t it.
    1 point
  28. You can replace the trigger contacts multiple times for the price of the cheapest mosfet. It's not something to worry about.

  31. Interestingly on the same subject I wanted to buy one of the new E&L ‘Essentials’ AKM’s, only place in the UK with stock was Daves Custom Airsoft When I got the Gun and opened the box it’s been tested and fired at Gunfire.pl so Daves must have imported themselves?

  32. On that point, I have a lipo "alarm", essentially a little chip with a buzzer on it that will sound if the battery gets to the point it needs changing, hopefully before it does itself any harm, & itplug in to the batteries charging lead so easy to switch between gats

  34. The folks that dip out before a day is over (or the 'Photo Ops' as I call them). Show up, get their photos to show they were there, contribute very little to game(s) and then disppear early citing a whole number of reasons ranging from injuries to 'the entire other team are cheating'. Just never understood it, and if I was to be leaving early I'd absolutely be getting a refund before I did. I'm aware there are absolutely cases where there is an entirely valid reason, and I'm not talking about those. But especially since all the pandemic restrictions lifted I feel like there are half the people remaining at the end of the day than what there were at the start, seemingly irrelevant of the site. It's been touched on by a few folks, but this is one of the only... perhaps the only hobby I've had where people seem to have it as a hobby, but not actually like playing the game ?‍♂️.

    We mp5 Apache

Might be the nub itself has slipped? I've made the same changes to my apache but have used an omega nub. It barely needs the hop on, so might be worth looking at? Can you see it pressing on the hop rubber before you re- assemble it?

  36. assuming your son's is the left-hand one then looks like it's not too bad with only one shot being significantly low. the range of readings if you discount that flier is really not too bad and the lower average more likely just means the spring being a tad softer. chrono data like that is about as good a diagnosis of air seal as you can get without stripping the box or having some range time to check vertical dispersion.

  37. I 'get' that i do, somewhere buried deep inside is a touch of empathy; others have put it better. Its the chat up not bomb up its the '5 mins till safety brief' as the player is carrying over 5 guns to crono or as a whole, not doing all they can to play. Also, when a marshal/game organiser says go/5mins make it so. Again and again it comes back to how CS ran their days, you were told you would be out til lunch, pack accordingly. More sites (i go to) need to be doing this not the current '5mins bomb up' but not counting the 2 smokes and cuppa the players and or marshals have.....

  38. It seems like our firearms coppers are well aware that most Realistic Firearms out there are actually Realistic Imitation Firearms. The folk that get (rightfully) slotted are those who are actually shooting live rounds. When gun-Dibble rocks up and finds some Joey giving it "I'll shoot yers, I'l do it, I'll shoot all of yers", they seem inclined to say "ORLY? Have a beanbag to the ballbag, and let's find out". Well done to them for that.

  39. speaking as the perspective of someone who's entire style of play revolves around maximizing range you'd be surprised how often people actually do stand around and let you shoot them. most often it's people simply not expecting you to be able to hit them, until you do..... even funnier is how often you'll see people just coming back to the same spot or taking the same route that you literally tagged them in all of 5 minutes prior.....

    General aeg range

/thread You can get hits at longer range, on targets who helpfully stand still while you figure out where your BBs are hooking, slicing, lobbing or dropping at this exact point in time. Anyone who tells you that their gnu shoots like a laser out to 70m is delusional, or trying to sell it to you.

  41. Mans is getting deja vu: The spreadsheet thread linked in there does some (admittedly basic) math behind bb lobbing, but as @rocketdogbert points out there are a lot of variables. Getting a hit after expending half a mag fired 45 degrees in the air isnt the same range as that where you can aim, fire and (wind/target movement aside) hit a man sized target reliably. I've always taken claims of people claiming to be able to shoot x/y/z meters with a massive pile of salt, and i've never measured it myself because all that matters to me is having that little extra distance compared to the other guy.

  43. Bane of a marshals day is trying to get people to move for the next game. Tell them with plenty of notice to bomb up at lunch half of the players loading up during the next brief. Need a wavier so we can use cattle prods to get late players shifted.

  44. Patches.....i can understand event patches its the patch walls i cannot understand. Full disclosure, I do have a handfull of patches - a couple of deadpool crossovers a fb group patch, event patch and a couple of freebiees from said event. However, when i look at patchwalls or inside guncase displays i just think 'there is a guns worth of patches there.. ..' Agreed with moaning/not playing. But what i truly dont get is how people turn up to sites late or only start prepping when called out tp gamezone. These people fuck me off the most as i dont understand why you wouldnt get a whole days worth of shooting...

It would make sense to replace the older NGRS ARs with the new MOSFET and I totally get what you mean too haha. I already built my own NGRS mp5 before TM announced their own version which I've kept in the original A5 configuration with a magpul guard, Was actually easier to convert the TM version to a SD nothing is made of steel so easy to work with. Parts wise you need. SD front sight Guard and sleeve Suppressor I used ICS parts but they are discontinued so it was hard sourcing everything. Your'll need some 35mm steel bar and a lathe for the adapter I made. Also be confident with a Dremel and tap and dye set.

  46. Heck yea can they make that a rule where people are only allowed so long in safe area unless injured or damaged gun as you end up with half the team missing else for most of day.

  47. Why people need in excess of 1 hour for a lunch break at a game day. Adult players who get angry when younger/new players are confused or maybe staying a little behind so they dont get hit as much. I don't get what they gain from shouting at these newer players to push up while they themselves, in all their gucci gear, are the furthest back. But most of all, people who pre-fire the hell out of CQB like its CSGO. Pet hate of mine, don't understand what they really gain from it other than looking like a knob and using a load of ammo/gas. Luckily it seems to be mostly a stateside thing, along with their bang bang rule.

  48. The VAT registration threshold for EU business is £85,000. Below that and they don't have to register, once they do though, they'll have to do accounts for HMRC (as well as their own government) along with all the additional cost that entails. For someone like TG I can't see that the volume of sales is worth it. Gunfire will still ship to the UK because they know there's customers there but still insist on a minimum order of £135 because that's where the responsibility shifts from them to the customer. TG stopped shipping over to the UK because of UPS and the hassle that their utter clusterfuck of a service has caused them. GF just started using a different courier instead (GLS).

  50. Yes, that, especially another M4. Is that the DE with the fire control system? Bursts, binary trigger for speedy-boi shenanigans? That's about all you can really ask from an AEG other than pre-cock, and that's down to the mosfet, not the brand. Time to drop this truth-frag again. I'd be looking at getting something different, even if it's another AEG. A recoil system, a different platform, even raw degeneracy like a P90.
