Ignore the background? Fuck off, that's a brilliant album!2 points -
Ignore the backdrop, area where we do 2nd hand photography is a state at the moment so itโs a back-room bodge! This was a Novristch SSP1 with a slide lock that would fall out (hilarious on the field) a thumb safety that would engage randomly (also hilarious on the field) and a slide that would rattle about so much that you could mistake the gun for a half full high capacity magazine. Now itโs a swish Tungsten-grey gnu with a handle on the side for faster pewing. I name it the Notritsch2 points

Tony Benn's stories about trying to specify the most efficient reactors when energy minister were well worth listening to. The civil service wanted Magnox, the arms industry wanted Magnox and Magnox is what we all got, and indeed still pay for. Fighting the civil service radicalised Benn. He went into politics a decidedly middle of the road kind of chap. The only state that uses Magnox now is North Korea. The last UK Magnox was only shut down in 2015. Lord only knows the extra cost over sixty years! As for the Thick of It, I remember it coming out all too well. After three decades of being involved in politics I was going for take the plunge working with one of the parties as a psephologist. My girlfriend saw In the Loop and went ballistic, claiming that everyone involved from Malcolm Tucker down was shagging each other. As for Brexit, I ordered my last TW shipment weeks ago. It weighed about as much as I do...2 points -
Agreed. It was just the first thing to hand and it wasnโt very โairsoftyโ Itโs what happens, fiddling away building guns inside of a Hi-Fi shop!1 point

Received and reassembled, the SSP1 is unrecognisable. As was predicted at the beginning, itโs a proper Triggerโs broom. I present the Notritsch1 point

Absolutely correct, one step at a time so you learn how each part interacts with the system and changes the performance. Sorry if I sounded rough, but the whole AOE argument always pisses me off. if said angle was really wank I am sure TM (the company who invented the gearbox) would've addressed it in the design stage they aren't know for "eh, good enough" when engineering and manufacturing stuff Some conspiracy theorist say that it was deliberately done to prevent people from having a functional gun with a stronger (illegal) spring in Japan, but it's mostly faff just like every conspiracy theory out there. This is how involute gears (same shape as the gear teeth in our gearboxes) are meant to work. As @Adolf Hamsterpointed out, in some cases a very slight correction has to be done (I've narrowed it down to two very specific cases, mistake on my side ) but it's mostly due to tolerances and in most cases it's negligible, it may shorten down the lifespan of a piston by idk, 1000 cycles? over an effective life of hundreds of thousands cycles. Piston failures are more due to the actual quality of the part (Ares dark earth pistons say hello), rather than an imperceptible difference in the angle at which the sector gear interacts with them. As mentioned in my previous post, in LMG type boxes there is just a design flaw that kills pistons really quickly, basically the piston rests too far forward for the sector gear to properly pick it up, so the geat tooth strikes the "bottom" of the piston's pick up tooth and smashes it to pieces. In that case a shim/pad is required You then have so called "techs" who say "eh fuck mechanical laws, hold my beer" and come up with uber thick pads, giving no mechanical or physical explanation other than "I'm right, you're wrong, fuck you, 'murica"1 point

Thanks for sending this. I can easily enough revert AOE. A SHS cylinder head isn't much money. I feel the airseal isn't good enough as well. The cylinder head sits somewhat loose in the cylinder itself. One thing at a time though. Just following advice from what appear to be reputable airsoft techs. Feel like I'm being told off by my old man here. I'll get some pictures, i'll try and get a video up too later of the bearing issue. I've ordered some 8mm bushings. Based upon what you have said about them requiring less care it makes sense for my current extremely limited abilities. Pictures are clearly going to help massively here so let me get them up but thank you for the help. Thanks for the reply. I'll get some pictures up tonight of everything. I'll upload a picture here of the previous AOE before my treasonous crimes of using a sorbo pad. Based on what you said about the bearings being loose and that shimming will help them in position. This may just be the case, it does seem like I would need a fuck tonne of 0.1mm shimms in order to negate the movement. Would that be normal?1 point

Not yet as I haven't even gamed with the everything in yet. I went though about 4-5 mags in ~7 deg weather as I had to empty them for storage and there wasn't an issue in single fire or quick double tapping. I did full auto to test it out and it got halfway through a second mag until it siezed open due to cooldown. I never play full auto anyway, so I should be fine. Plus, it will be nice having a complete bolt spare, I just need to order a new pin as it was the one thing I forgot. I can make a quick vid if you're interested in seeing it in action1 point -

naff painjob, extra mag but boneyard, plus bonus internal damage. All available to you for 22 quid more than it is brand new on Taiwan gun, or a tenner more than it recently cost to have one shipped to my door. Oh, and you are expected to pay postage on top of that, so make that 20 quid more than a brand new one is shipped. I sometimes wonder whether people just get seriously ripped off buying these things new and somehow arrive at the conclusion that regardless of how much they are available from elsewhere they expect within a tenner of what they grossly overpaid for it. A second hand R36 is worth 80 quid in decent condition at best. And that's being kind.1 point -

Actually that is how you THINK it works... But in fact Whitehall try to influence the politicians They (Senior Civil Servants @ Whitehall) don't care who wins the GE not really, Whitehall simply gets new puppets to play with & pull the strings You might think this is bit far fetched, but suggest you watch some episodes of "Yes Minister" which many retired servants & politicians have said it was pretty accurate of how it all works1 point -

Not the spirit of the game. Do it once, raise a laugh perhaps. More than once is a bit naughty. Do it regularly and game days are spoiled.1 point
