I think I've finished the Novritsch now. Changed around a few extra parts and now it feels super nice in hand. Since last week, here's what I've been up to: Changed out the Novristch recoil spring and hammer spring for an AIP 140% Switched out the fluted barrel to a standard non-dropping Airsoft Surgeon barrel Changed the leaf spring for an Elite shooting version Adjusted the backstop of the guarder trigger Full disassembly and clean Mother's aluminum polish on frame and slide, half an hour of racking the slide 180% nozzle spring as the nozzle was very sticky Add that to: Changed out the rattly-ass slide Installed Elite shooting lightweight BBU and loading nozzle (dramatic reduction in weight!) Installed a working slide catch Installed non-missing grip safety pins I've learnt that: KJ Spec and TM Spec are totally different and not all parts are interchangeable - looking at you, trigger bows The supplied hop unit and rubber aren't half bad The supplied hammer assembly actually feel great with a slightly stronger spring and a non-mushy trigger Barrel-rub is a huge factor in gas efficiency Hi-capas are addictive and I'll have a second finished in a few weeks, subject to delays on the slide I feel like I've broken myself when it comes to GBB's, seeing the wealth of parts available and the qualitative differences between them has been an eye-opening experience. My beloved chest-mounted WE Makarov now feels like it is made of cheese Anyway, here's the pictures of the SSP1 in it's final guise. The red dot will will replaced with a Triji SRO when it arrives as I like the Holosun clone far more on my AK74u Edit - forgot to say, the cleandown found a few more FPS out of the platform and it's chronoing just shy of 300 with 0.28's which made me a very happy boy2 points

Rent first. Don't buy anything until you've played a few times, got a feel for the hobby and a UKARA so you don't have to run around with a bright blue popsicle.1 point

I thought that after posting so many Black and Chrome guns I should probably prove I’m not a paint baller in disguise and show off one of my more “realistic” offerings! A&K MK46, purchased off a forum member here, given a bit of a tart-up. She’s still called Lucinda1 point

Yes you are correct @AlphaBear, better of buying an MWS and retro fitting a MK18 kit1 point

THE TM MWS thread
Wild Weasel reacted to Davegolf for a topic
I would guess that your bolt is travelling to fast rearwards potentially. A HSB will slow this down (in a good way) whilst still providing full travel and faster return to battery. Have you tried it with the stock bolt? I would run the standard TM buffer unit. The difference between the Modify and TM is marginal, i prefer the TM for longevity. Autobot 60 has not been tested, you need a bucking with conventional mound to work with the Super Nub.1 point -

Thanks dude, love this gun and can’t wait to skirmish with it after lockdown😆 I’ve gone through a few mags in the garden and it feels great. I’m fairly new to airsoft and It’s my first gun, I’ve only ever used high cap rentals of which you have to keep winding on the mag after a few shots. Everyone on site kept asking what gun I’m going to get first, I would tell them the MWS, and everyone was like “no,no,no,no, you should get a cheap AEG!” then I would look online and watch videos about the MWS and everyone’s raving about this platform, I’m so glad I was not influenced by the people at my local skirmish site. 😂 My heart was set on the MWS and I’ve been using a cheap AEG for the last 3 months 😂1 point

What Bio BBs should I be buying?
Spacemonkey reacted to Ropeyshep for a topic
Just to give a little data to this thread/topic and to see for myself if there is a significant difference in the behaviour of Bios in wet conditions or a difference between the behaviour of Bios versus Non-Bios, I put a small sample of whatever I had in the house into ziploc bags of water following my last post so these are figures based on the sample BBs being completely submerged in tap water for 18 days (it was night time so I'm counting only whole days). Following the submersion, I measured five BBs from each wet sample and five BBs from the original dry source bottle/bag. I don't have a massive selection and most of those are Bio so I don't have a great control group of non-bio BBs to select from. So, the hypothesis tested is that Biodegradable BBs swell out of spec on absorption of moisture. The attached table is a summary of the results and I think the conclusion I first draw is that there is no absorption or swelling of BBs after nearly 3 weeks underwater. The variation within samples appears greater than that between wet and dry in most cases. Also, I am pretty happy with my standard choice of Nuprol RZR 0.28g Bio 😉 There are obvious limitations to the test, primarily in that the sample sizes are small, I can't be fussed expanding the test but I'd be more than happy to applaud anyone who wanted to, I am happy to email the full data table with individual measurements, if anyone is that bored on lockdown. Another possible source of error is the measurement equipment, I used my general garage micrometer to do the measuring, it doesn't have a valid certificate of calibration and it has a stated precision of 0.01mm so the variation seen in most samples falls inside the possible error of the test equipment. Thirdly, this isn't a blind test, I knew what each sample was and so there may be subconscious bias but I doubt it. I really hope this lockdown ends soon, I clearly have too much time on my hands.1 point
