Exactly this. When you've been told as a child, from medical professionals, that one more severe knock to the back of the head could kill you, it's enough to put the fear in you. Granted my skull will have re-strengthened by now but I'm still gonna wear it, even if it only increases my chances 10%. On a scale of prayer to guarantee, I'll take 10% any day of the week and if it gives me confidence then I'm all for it. The CQB site I play at has a leaky roof which leaves puddles of water full of slimey green algae on a completely concrete floor. I have boots that can deal with oil, ice, BB's etc but algae bests them easily. Not to mention the many trip hazards from building debris, other people and my own feet and the multiple stairwells. Yeah, I'll take a helmet.2 points

Sometimes when wearing a helmet I actually bump my head more due to extra height it gives me. Catch 22.1 point

But if it hurts you learn not to do it again. Think of it as education 😁1 point -

i second this motion heavier ammo will give you more range, but lighter ammo in an indoor setting will have a marginally faster flight time (it gets overtaken at range by heavier ammo) but more importantly it's cheaper.1 point -

Bit of both for me really. Playing CQB with trip and slide hazards etc. I almost killed myself several times as a kid, falling/slipping backwards and smashing the back of my head into the ground. With a helmet I can run around and do stupid shit without fear. But it can also look cool. I custom painted mine. BB's don't hurt enough to warrant a helmet, it's the environmental hazards for me.1 point

It is fugly, but I love it and therefore I'm embracing the hate. At least its not "Another M4" 😁😁1 point

Just wanted to post a quick thanks and well done. Placed my order yesterday morning and the kit all arrived first thing this morning. It seems a fairly industry standard to be slow with mail orders in the Airsoft world but not with @ak2m4. I had expected the kit to arrive after the weekend but this gives me chance to play with it now this weekend. Thank you and I will definitely be visiting your store before others in the future.1 point

I will second that, thats 45 meters and Cheesy is spot on most airsoft guns have very little accuracy at that range and certainly not a 50mm spread. Complete and total huge screaming pile of bullshit.1 point -

Did I do the right thing?

I think you're being a bit harsh on the guy, he did try and do the right thing and took the hit from the OP without question immediately. Yes he should have had a secondary but equally he could have shot and claimed his sniper was only 350fps and to a plate carrier/rig your not going to notice enough to complain. If anything his mistake was having faith in the fact good sportsman ship would be reciprocated, which is a stretch granted in a combat game So was OP right? 'legally' yes 'morally' no However, the former is the one that actually matters in reality1 point
