  3. Over the past year I've been wanting to do this build. Maybe I'll have a go at it this year after I've got a car. I drew it out to see what it should look like after I've done all the work to it. Base gun is the HFC C96 rifle, my plans for the rifle is to chop down the outer barrel, thread the remaining barrel to attach a silencer, cut down the top receiver to align with the front of the ejection port, JB weld a rail to the receiver and somehow upgrade the barrel / hop up as I don't think the range or accuracy will be very good out of the box. Should be a funky little marksman rifle when completed. If I ever end up starting the project I'll keep this thread updated.

  12. Massif combat shirt. I've done a lot of internet window shopping (and actual shopping) over the years and you can't really beat one of these for a quality FR shirt, considering the low cost on ebay. The fabrics are pretty much the same as my ICE Tactical FR shirt which cost way more. This is more for work than anything so I won't be airsofting in it myself, but my brother actually wears FR stuff most of the time he skirmishes (particularly at certain specific sites) after some really close calls with burning pyro and things that were set on fire by burning pyro in a couple of games.

The thing to bear in mind is that soldiers don't get paid much, when you consider what they are called on to do for the money (in between long bouts of make-work and playing at it with blanks). The only way you're going to get people to be prepared to risk their lives is 'esprit de corps'. The sad truth is that you can reach a lower common denominator by teaching them to find common ground with each other because they are all against someone/thing else, than you can by trying to teach them all to be for someone/thing. I mean, the queen? Really? Who would risk the steam off their piss for some uber-rich old dear in a big house? The British Government? Lying, expense fiddling, sleaze-meisters doing their best to feather their own nests before they'd lift a finger to help a constituent, and even then they'd only do it for the publicity... A rag on a pole? The bloke next to you? Who is he? He hates lefties, liberals, and walts too, he's alright...

  22. Hi all, I thought i'd take a moment and introduce myself properly, I've started a couple of dopey threads already and thought it about time I made a proper introduction. My names Graham, I live in Worthing Sussex and I work as a postman. I come from a toy collecting background (GI Joe & a bit of Star Wars), I got into Nerf with my 5 year old and I think that's sparked a need for an accurate RIF and a new group of friends. Through a good friend that Skirmishes regularly I've been introduced to the whole "Airsoft world". I'm due to go to my first Skirmish in October at Elite in Worthing, I've been buying a shed load of stuff recently, mainly finaced by selling a chunk of my Joe collection. One thing about me is I don't do things by halves, a couple of my friends are in the ATC as Leaders and I'm lucky to have access to an indoor firing range which has been a great help! I look forward to starting and hopefully opening the next chapter in my money spending and friend making Snakeeyes75

    First Aid

Interesting responses, thank you. First Aid is a tricky subject, especially as the HSE have deregulated first aid training so there are less hoops for a training company to jump through before they can offer training, and the content of the courses can vary to cover just the basic recommended syllabus to whatever the course provider wants to throw in. The HSE recommendations for first aid cover actually states that a company is under no legal obligation to provide first aid for non-employees. Not sure if insurance companies stipulate minimum levels of first aid cover either - it would be nice if they did though. Personally, I have three 'kits' with me when I go out skirmishing - I have a small kit with a few wipes, some plasters and a small ambulance dressing and a Celox bandage. A larger first aid bag with lots of dressings, SAM splints, a few airways and some other bits, and then in my car I have my bigger kit with other bits and pieces in that I might need (assessment kit, more dressing, advance airway management, access kit and major haemorrhage control items). Ian - I can understand your concern about life threatening arterial bleeds, but they are very rare these days. That said, if you are really concerned have you considered the new haemostatic dressings such as Celox, Hemcon or QuickClot? They are expensive but a lot safer and easier to use than a cut down and ligature, and you will probably get less skill fade with using something like this

  24. Typically at my site it is generally the older lot that are still running around at the end of the day and the younger 'kids' sitting back because they are tired! (makes them a nice easy target as well ) I'm 41 but not new to airsoft, but nevertheless welcome and enjoy!

This is the third time it's happened since Christmas and I recieve approx 500+ packages from the US each year, most stuff is left alone but when this kind of thing happens it's a pain in the ass to get compensation or refund! I have the neccesarry BOR form saved on my desktop. Dealing with them is like pulling teeth! I'll end up spending a good £20 on phone calls due to this latest cock up

  28. Very true Nickona, i saw quite a few guys in 3 Para using them in 06 in afghan and the viper and webtex kit is very cheap and very poor copies. Wouldn't buy either of their kit, it's just not up to it!
    1 point
  29. That'll be becuse it was a (I assume Viper) Repro one. Having owned both copy and real M83 vests the real is leagues above the copies in absolutely everything I carry a mix of 5.56 R4 mags and 7.62 AK47 mags and both fit fine into my mag pouches. The AK ones are a little harder to get in but then again they are bigger. The dividers on them are also a lot better than the dividers on British kit you can have one mag in either slot and it wont bounce all over the place. I have to say they are possibly one of the best military sets of large scale issue gear (the whole M83 package) ever created with British Paras using the chest rig even in 2008 and possibly later... bearing in mind it came into service in 1983

  38. Monday is bank holiday btw - soz for being a smart ar$e https://bbguns4less.co.uk/products/Blackviper-M92F-Beretta-Electric-Blowback-pistol-in-clear.html or http://www.combat4less.co.uk/uhc-m92f-beretta-electric-ebb-airsoft-pistol-in-clear/ seems all the same to me same company/gun but 2nd one is £1 cheaper - lol try horse - 5% discount code at bbguns4less if ya lucky but postage on top not pulling ya post or stuff to bits but does help to look around first - we all just dived in and bought what we thought was good at time - only now we know a bit different from mistakes best electric pistols would perhaps be cyma glock but that is like £60 to £75 gas or co2 is an option - yes gas costs on top but electric batteries won't last all day either

  39. They make out out like they are so feckin experienced yet chubby don't skirmish I'm lead to think... JambWow is so brilliant at reviews - ffs the amount of times he fills mags and puts more on floor than in magazine. The pure bollox that comes out of his gob is beyond words: This gun is high quality full metal - well except that bit, and maybe that bit, perhaps that bit too not sure about the other bit too - look theonly thing metal is spring and ergh not sure about rest If I had a quid for each FANTASTIC he said - jeez I'd be rich They lie, they bul$hit you, they don't get back to you, their return refund policy is dire, most of the stuff is crap and when you slowly realise that then I refer back to: they lie/bull$hit etc...... If you know what you are looking for there a FEW things on there that you can buy but most is $hit we on here have learnt the hard way - they are the worst imho OnlyBBGuns - slightly slightly better but still not ultra high quality but perhaps best of 3 BB muppets BBGuns4Less - bit better than JustBBGuns JustBBGuns - uhm think I said a fair bit and can't really say what I truely think As with all of theme 3 BB named companies and some others - be very careful and shop/research a bit before you part with cash - often they sell low end stuff that is crap and often won't last or work well you will get your ar$e badly kicked if using most of their stuff at a proper skirmish site If buying a M4 - get £100 to £130 G&G - seriously - wasted a couple of hundred on crap to so-so other makes so I do know a thing or two about cheaper crappy guns - learn from mine & others mistakes for example not saying get it but: http://www.onlybbguns.co.uk/hg-104-m92f-beretta-hfc-hg-104-m92-gas-pistol.html?filter_name=gas%20pistol#.U_gp7KNOgzw or http://www.onlybbguns.co.uk/gg-106-hfc-gg-106-mk8-compact-gas-pistol.html?filter_name=gas%20pistol#.U_gq1KNOgzw use RC10 code for 10% discount and free shipping on all stuff I bought a co2 one for 30 - 10% = £27 delivered - 400+ fps too powerful to use at sites but not bad in black/blue and goes some for garden fun just saying those 2 gas & my co2 wre 27 with discount free shipping - works until valve/mag goes crap on ya not bad for a decent looking pistol

  41. These responses are obviously only the people who have an axe to grind. There are former soldiers and serving soldiers who are fine with airsoft. I done my bit and left after my first tour (decided I didn't want to be put in that situation again), but I still miss it hence airsoft Its good clean fun and I can sleep at night without nightmares anymore. The people who responded in that link I suspect have self esteem issues and are just defended what is probably the only aspect of their lives that has given them true meaning and confidence. From a psychotherapists point of view I find this all rather interesting

    Airsoft Helmets

I have 2 Helmets. A steel tankers helmet, which I plan one day to fully convert to an airborne helmet. It's heavy and the 2 point chin strap makes it feel rather unstable. It will be great once it has the 4 point leather chin strap. I also have a cheap Resin Brodie helmet For £8 it's a surprisingly good match for the real thing and is much lighter. It lacks a liner so I tied netting over it with the 4 corners tied to create a cushion for my head. It works great. I'm more of a hat person really. Boonies are great but on a hot sunny day, you can't beat a slouch hat
