What is the best car? My mate told me that a VW Golf with massive alloys is best. Sarcastic point aside, 'best pistol' (as with 'best car') depends on a variety of factors. Are you looking for performance, feel, practicality, ability to accessorise, etc.? As with most things there is only a 'best' in relation to what you're trying to do with it (and also how much you have/want to spend on the gun itself and aftermarket parts).

I registered on this site after I saw some hits coming to my webserver from this specific URL. I saw the discussion and wanted to put in some input. Anyway, that youtube video and the URL to http://www.ocabj.net/use-bone-not-muscle-rifle-shooting-and-photography/ was recorded and written by me a few years back. With regards to how you should shoulder your stock, there are variations on which to do this, depending on the rifle platform and depending on what kind of shooting you're doing. The skeletal support method I demonstrated in the video is meant to provide the most stable support for a standing shot with no other support (e.g. sling). If your only concern is consistent and accurate shots from the unsupported standing position, then the way described in that video and article is the most ideal. This is what you will see in what we in the United States call "High Power Rifle" matches, also known as "Across the Course", where one stage of fire is 200 yard unsupported standing, 20 rounds in 20 minutes slow fire with a 7 inch 10-ring and a 3 inch X-ring. In those matches, you're trying to put 20 rounds into a 7 inch circle at 200 yards from standing. A little tidbit on how high the stock is on the shoulder, what people need to understand is that the AR15/M16 platform we use in High Power is a "Service Rifle" and has to follow strict rules with regards to the configuration. One being that we us the A2 stock with A2 sights (although the sights are competition grade). The most consistent cheek weld with the A2 configuration is always going to be nose to the charging handle, and the best way to shoulder the stock is to get the sights to the eye, not the head down to the sights. Getting the rifle to the eye will keep the head and neck straight. This improves balance. For most people to do this with the A2 service rifle, this means getting the toe of the stock really high on the body. Fortunately, the AR15/M16 recoil is little to non-existent. Also, it helps when A2 competition service rifles are heavily weighted (we add lead weights to the gun, often increasing a standard A2 rifle which usually weighs ~9 lbs up to 18lbs or more). To give a better understanding of what I mean by keeping the head and neck straight for balance, here's an experiment. Stand on one foot, close your eyes, now tilt your head slightly to one side. What happens to your balance? I'm going to bet that you start to fall towards that side and you're body will instinctively try to muscle counterbalance. This is what you don't want happening when you shoot slow fire standing in High Power Rifle competitions. If you tilt your head to the rifle sights to get good cheekweld in standing, you mess up your natural balance and are introducing 'muscling' into your position, which leads to instability over time as you fatigue in the position. That being said, in a combat or dynamic scenario, shooting like this isn't practical. You're going to be moving, engaging multiple targets and various distances and directions, so the competition "slow fire" stance really isn't going work. So what do you do? Change stance and holds. Instead of blading the body to the target, you'll square up more to the target, bring the stock more into the pectoral muscle than in the shoulder. This it style that you'll see being currently taught by various weapons manipulations instructors (e.g. Magpul Industries, Haley Strategic, Costa Ludus, Vickers Tactical, the list goes on). I advocate using the type of stance and hold for the situation at hand, whether it be competition - High Power Rifle "Across the Course", 3-Gun, etc, or combat/dynamic. Self by ocabj, on Flickr

I don't think asking for peoples opinions and recommendations is being "spoon fed". There's no harm in wanting to learn from the experience of others.

What do you guys think about Riot Shield loadouts? Cheating or interesting? Personally, I think they're interesting. I'm even looking into buying a riot shield to start a new loadout (And to have something to slide on when the snow next comes around). Additionally, what would airsoft sites say about bringing your own riot shield? Chances are they'd be considered cheating, but I don't know. I guess to counter being invincible, you wouldn't be allowed to poke your gun around the side of the shield?

A) No. Whoever is over 18 and has played the games in the right time is the one whose details the site will send to UKARA. So yes. If your dad plays the games he can then get on the UKARA database. He could buy a RIF using his UKARA approved details (or by providing another form of defence at the time of buying) after which he can let you borrow it or even just straight up give it to you permanently (but he can't sell it to you until you're 18). Generally speaking retailers who use the UKARA database system say they will only send the RIF being purchased to the name and address that matches the one held on the UKARA database, which is why you can't 'borrow someone's UKARA number' and use it against your name and address. Finally BAC and UKARA are two different systems. Plus who cares about BAC? They made one mistake and now they're burned for life!

I was told all bb's do degrade in the end but was kind of sceptical of how long it takes like cd's in landfill sites etc... bios supposed to go afer 6months but told more like a year ??? anyone know about regular bb's - please don't say 35 yrs or I may be in trouble: "We need to talk" she says... in female to male terms simply means.... So the Hockwerk game I was so looking forward to got cancelled I have now signed up for a rifles only game in Sept. I really have to get my arse in gear and get that rifle by then now Best bit though is that it's set early war and the list of possible nations said British and commonwealth, so I signed up as the only Aussie (I get to wear a big silly hat yay!)

Unfortunately it depends on situation, Got one for my DREDD loadout and decided to bring it along to a skirmish, while my pistol was going it was a simple if you get shot your out and you drop the shield for whoever comes along. And then my pistol packed up so it was allowed for me to keep hold of it the whole as long as I used my "daystick", great fun for everyone, me included, quite proud when I was able to get 5 of them in a row (see below) It is really a case of how they are used, can be great fun, but if there are no flanking opportunities or capable of overcoming, it can suck big time.

A milsim loadout if basically a highly realistic interpretation of a real world loadout. The very odd bit might be slightly incorrect but on the whole it clearly respembles a real modern or historical fighting force. It is basically borderline living history IE.. having a full MTP kit with Mk.IV rig, Mk.VII helmet and Aghan spec SA80 would be considered milsim but if you just had MTP with a baseball cap, WAS chest rig and a G36 it wouldn't be considered a milsim loadout as it is not close enough to the real thing... Basically this is a thread for loadouts what are based on specific forces rather than just random skirmish kit or airsoft team kit.. If someone has a Milsim loadout they know they do as they'll have spend a lot of time and money putting it together I might as well get this kicked off with my classic Angolan Bush War Executive Outcomes Mercenary. This is its older set up and a part WIP.. Yeh I call BS too. The whole post looks like it was knocked up in 5 minutes and all the kit on there are generic items that could have been pulled from any one of a number of websites. The big giveaway is the helmet which they dont use anymore.

This has got to be total bollocks. If it's not, then I'm going to break into RAF Lakenheath myself, and steal all the American's shit; then it's just a case of waiting for them to offer a reward for its return, which will be 10 times more lucrative than selling any of it. Sounds like pretty easy money. 'Cos breaking into Lakenheath will obviously be a piece of piss...
