  2. It'll be overpriced and the internals will be made of cheese... So it'll still be better than most guns made by ARES...

  3. I'm just going to point out that the law and UKARA are not the same thing. The law doesn't say you have to play anywhere for any amount of time, UKARA does.

  6. When you look at it logically you have a toy that is considerably less powerful than most airguns that don't have the same hoops as you can walk out to a shop right now and buy a semi auto air gun. They have the hoops purely because it looks like something more dangerous and its for airsoft and not another similar hobby like paintball. That doesn't really make any logical sense, a gun that is dangerous you can just buy but something that can't remotely kill someone requires proof you intend to use it in the appropriate places? These laws and the application of them wasn't really about actually making things safer, it was about being seen to do something. Its easy enough to make the argument that any reasonable skirmisher should be able to meet these requirements yearly and a new player doesn't have to wait very long at all. Just joining a rifle club with a police check can take 6-8 weeks these days so its not like 2 months is out of the question for an industry run scheme. The hoop however distorts the retail market. Either making rental guns far more important and lucrative than they would otherwise be and causing the sale of a lot of two tone weapons as temporary replacements. You could argue the current system is very much advantageous to the retailers because they often get to sell two guns purely because of UKARA and how they interpreted the law. I don't think its a really arduous hoops, its mostly impacting on new people coming into the hobby and making it more expensive for them to do so by about £100 where I am (either the gun is ~£100 or rental at £30 a game). Having to lump down rental money for 2 months or buy a beginners two tone isn't awful but its also increasing revenue to the airsoft stores and sites. Then what wolfarmouries does is allow you to buy a RIF from them and they will bring it along to any game you prebook, so you can avoid the rentals and still use your gun in games. That is great, its also a wonderful way to ensure all players at Bunker 51 have to buy their gun from them, helping to make them much cheaper overall than their competitors even if they are charge more for the gun itself. That is just another little application of the implications of this minor hoop that makes stores that run sites and run a similar scheme get to increase their yearly sales a little even if they are more expensive than the others. Its not that the hoops are really bad, I don't think its reasonable to argue against the 2 month minimum or the 3 game yearly limit they are in my mind perfectly reasonable measures. But we also have to recognise that some sites charge for getting the UKARA form stamped for a yearly membership to their site as well, just another way in which UKARA is used. We do have to recognise it distorts the retail and site market and its being used to fleece us of more cash, and puts a barrier in the way for new players who are disadvantaged by it.

  10. Simple answer: yes, they're the same. Long answer: When entering into a sale or trade, you're creating a contract. A contract is formed by two parties each paying the other 'consideration', this consideration can be any item of value to either party (there are other things that form a contract, but those aren't important). So, in a normal sale, party A might offer a gun as consideration, and party B will offer currency. In a trade, the only difference is that party B changes what their consideration physically is to goods or services instead of currency. Hope that makes sense...

  13. I may have worded it wrong apologies, I had to look more into it as I have been at her majesty's pleasure. I signed a firearms act when released, but it has no effect now as my sentence was under the threshold of 4 years. If I had served 4 or more years any firearm would be out of the question even fireworks or party poppers. So to answer your reply it was a ball ache for me.

  14. I would agree that most high end AEGs are compromised to some degree. It really depends on your expectations and what you want out of the gun and whether you are a tech/upgrader. One thing is for sure - you really are spoilt for choice if you have the budget for a high end AEG. Recoil models aside, if you want a no compromise gun - you need to get a custom job.

    M4 piston problems

You can check that easily. Remove the magazine. Shoot a few times to make sure no BB is in the hopup, then turn the gun upside down and shoot until the nozzle stops about halfway into the hopup. You can see it through the BB feeding part of the hopup. Remove the battery to be safe. Get a bright light and direct it into the hopup from the magwell. Now if you look into the barrel from the "hot end", you will see if the nozzle is in the center of the barrel or not.

  18. Unfortunately we tried that last week and it didn't work due to players using dead (shot) players as meat shields... We use that system for the outdoor areas however.. It's a similar medic rule to our woodland site.. There is still lots to implement to the site and we will be making alterations all the time. Player feedback is what matters, as you guys play the site, so can see the issues we sometimes overlook. This also makes the site a better gaming experience which is what it's all about when all said and done!

  22. Just to clear something up, MealZ, that's a GP-7 bag - the GP-5 bag is long and thin. I use a GP-5 bag as a dump pouch and a GP-7 one to carry my ghillie veil. External kneepads are great for kneeling in wet mud etc., much better than built in which cannot but wick up water into the cloth. Not necessary, but wet kecks all day are a bummer if you can't change.

I've ordered from these guys before and had mixed experiences. A recent purchase, however, has made me never want to use them again. So I ordered a G&P M2 red dot. The first problem arose here: I didn't receive a single e-mail after paying for the item. I've had them before, and thought this must be in error, so I sent them an e-mail and - after 3 days of waiting - they got back to me with a tracking code. These things happen, so it was fine. Fast-forward 10 days or so, and I've got the aimpoint: I take it out of the box, throw in some batteries and nothing; it's broken. I try different batteries, and make sure I've got the batteries in the right way around - nothing works. I send them an e-mail, and after a few days of waiting, they say they'll send a replacement. Excellent news - a free replacement without the need for returning mine. I ask them to check the packaging this time as the aimpoint was rattling around in the box a lot and that that could have something to do with it. I get the replacement, and it's not working either. I also notice that, again, the damn thing is poorly packaged and has been rattling in the box through its journey. I take pictures, and record a video showing that the thing isn't working. I also provide some instructional images on how to pack the optic without it rattling around (it just needed some bubblewrap). I send this all off, and they - this time - request I return the products before a refund. Well, it cost me $44 shipped, and shipping it back would perhaps cost me another $15-20. I really didn't want to end up paying $60 for a half-guarantee that they might send me one that's working. At that point, I'd rather buy one from the UK at a massively inflated price. I offer to pay the shipping on a second replacement; they agree. I ask them to take a picture of a.) how its been packed before its sent and b.) the optic working before they send it I get the second replacement and surprise surprise, it's another lemon. It's also been rattling around in the box the whole way here... again. I requested the images I asked for of it working before they send it, but they never took any. I've now been sent three of these optics and none have worked; G&P make some of the better aimpoint clones, and I don't believe for a second that all three were busted before they left their factory. Either they were aware that they were sending me a broken product (or just didn't test it as the claimed they had) or the packaging was responsible for it breaking in shipping. So, as you can imagine, that's the last time I'll be using these guys for any purchases. It's a shame, because their shop has some fairly nice stuff in it that's hard to get elsewhere.

  28. Where will you get semi auto or auto weapons in the UK? All you can own in semi-auto is 22 rimfire. You can't own anything in 9mm as that is classed as a pistol round and the ammo is banned. You can own an AR but only single shot working off a manual bolt with no way of converting to semi-auto- so essentially a bolt action rifle based on an AR receiver. You could get hold of the 'Cadet' version of the SA80. They are single shot working off a manual bolt.
