Jacob Wright and 21 others reacted to GothicGhost for a topic
,I was around 16 stone few years ago and over the years it been hard to shift the weight, I started running so I when airsoft with my son I could keep up and have fun without dying from exhaustion. So, over this year I have been running more and more, I started out slow from couch to 5K and in June I did my first race for life 10k event its so good getting across the finish line. I can now run the 10k distance without stopping and my current weight dropped to 13.4 stone at age 40 right now. Thanks.22 points -

At a stage where I'm happy to share the progress on this. China Lake 40mm grenade launcher. It will be a 3+1 40mm pump action grenade launcher. Externals are pretty much done and just waiting on some parts to make progress on the internals. All 3D printed in a mixture of ABS, PLA and Wood filament. There are a couple of parts that I'm going to CNC in metal (looking at you pump arms) but the 3D printed ones will be good enough for testing.15 points -

Hi guys, just to let you know there's a new moody scam attempt going on, appearing to target sellers & purporting to be from the forum itself, telling sellers their item has sold & to click on a link within the message to complete the sale. Seems to be originating from Russia, not sure what happens if the link is clicked, probably a trojan horse type virus to mine your info. Don't fall for it, obviously if you get one let us know so we can ban them immediately, here's a screenshot of the kind of text you'll receive:14 points

The only assumption I'm going to make is that you are not going to get along with other members of this forum with that kind of attitude. This isn't Discord or Facebook. Your first post is of a 'what am bestest m4?' variety - something that we have seen 1000x over on these forums. Your nebulous question immediately rings alarm bells and whilst the delivery of the UKARA advice above was slightly clumsy, it is somewhat understandable given that most who ask these things still live at home with mummy and daddy, and are looking to write their airsoft xmas list to Santa. Try introducing yourself on the forums - there is an entire section dedicated to it here.13 points -

I was at Overlord on Sunday. Bought a couple of real Surefire M600's for £55 a pop. Also got a RS MP5 torch handguard for £35 quid and found what might be a bit of gold unicorn pooh in the shape of a MP5K handguard with a Magnalite attached. The mount was made by a company 20 miles from Hereford and the torch had some issue Duracells inside. I've never seen a picture of one and it's either probably a trials piece or a one off custom job for a job. I'll post a picture when the forum lets me. Now with a picture.12 points -

Spotting a clone
nickel0001 and 11 others reacted to JimFromHorsham for a topic
With the clone wars stronger than ever I thought it might be an idea to have a thread based on how to spot what’s real and what’s not , to be clear this is not a clone bashing thread , but simply a way to hopefully help you get what is advertised , be it parts , optics , lasers/torches or maybe even RIF’s themselves . just because it says Aimpoint/Eotech/Magpul/Surefire doesn’t mean it is , even the packaging is being cloned to a high standard so don’t get get duped . I’ll start with a simple Magpul CTR stock in FDE , there will be better clones than others and I’ve picked a “Tak Tak” variant which retails at around £15-£20 in the UK VS a Gebuine CTR which retails around £75-£80 , the clone Says Magpul on it so in passing looks legit , the biggest tell is usually going to be the colour but as we know everyone’s photos and lighting looks a bit different and if you have nothing genuine to compare to when it arrives you are just taking the sellers word . heres a few comparisons , and highlighted differences between the two which should be easy to spot , Genuine is CTR is either Top or to the Left . main points to note - Genuine will have black tabs where the stock pad locates NOT TAN Genuine will have a molding mark on the underside , oval shaped . Genuine stock pad will have an “F” in the lower right hand side “pocket” Text spacing , the Genuine will be bolder and spaced correctly Length , generally the Clones will be a touch longer . Extra Text , the genuine will have extra text in the lower frame , plus batch / manufacturing numbers just above the locking lever . Hope this helps , as time permits I will add more comparisons .12 points -

Airsoft HMLMG from Rust
MSSNAFU and 10 others reacted to jzmalexander for a topic
Hi all, been a few years since I made a post. Just thought I'd share my build of the HMLMG from the video game Rust. I think its one of the coolest looking craftable guns from the game, and since seeing it I've always wanted to have an working airsoft version of it. HMLMG stands for HandMade LMG, hence why I thought it would be possible to actually do this project with the limited tools & materials I had. One of the things I didn't want to do for this was to damage the base gun, so attaching this HMLMG "case" to the base gun was a bit of a challenge, but in the end everything is removeable and the base gun underneath can be extracted completely unharmed. The build: -Base gun is a G&G Firehawk (DSG version), chosen for high RoF but also the loud sound that the Firehawk makes. -Box mag from the G&G CM16 platform, perfect shape and positioning compared to the source material (but yes it also takes just regular M4 mags). -Aluminium sheets for main structure (easy to shape without needing machinery, still relatively durable). -M3 nuts & bolts to hold most parts together. -Bit of fence from garden for stock. I used aluminium sheets for the main "case" of the gun which just goes over the base gun, cut to shape and held in place using nuts & bolts. The main barrel is made of aluminium pipes except for the giant hex nut which is steel, and the buffer tube on the rear of the gun is attached by long bolts to a u-shaped aluminium piece. Its all mainly held on by the bolts on the buffer tube, and by a very long extended outer barrel which runs right to the end of the aluminium pipe, which is then held on by a 14mm CCW piece which is perfect for securing the whole thing to the base gun. Everything was made at home using a hacksaw, scissors, screwdrivers, & aluminium tape, except for the holes on the heat shield & the buffer tube/outer stock which were done at the local men's shed. To access the fire selector I had to make a lever, but it is removable so doesn't get in the way in skirmishes. The mag release is still accessible as the underside of the HMLMG casing isn't filled in and I can just reach my finger up there. The Firehawk's external bits were removed, including charging handle, and the dust cover stays open, so hop-up is accessible by opening the top cover. The weight (without BBs in mag) is 3.3kg, roughly the size of an M249. I mostly tried to keep as accurate to the HMLMG in Rust as I could, but I had to compromise on the front grip as it seems too tedious to attach. The charge handle being a brass knob for a drawer also seems out of place as I want to leave the gun as full black for now at least. Modifications: -Due to the extreme upgrade in outer barrel length, I had to replace the inner barrel using a spare sniper barrel from a M40A3, which then caused the hop-up to need changing to a Mapleleaf 70. On the first skirmish I couldn't find the hop-up sweet spot, so replaced the unit with a rotary hop unit from Retro Arms. -The magazine was rewired to a button that sits on the heat shield as the original feed method was non-ideal. Performance: The gun is largely stock as it was brand new and I mainly did this just for the "look", and the DSG Firehawk's base performance is great from the first few weeks of using it. I'm running it on a 7.4v LiPo, it does around 1.07 joules (340 FPS on 0.2) at 29 RPS, so far found it to have good range and accuracy using 0.28g BBs. Magazine also feeds with 0 issues. Since the gun absolutely vomits BBs I'm changing to 0.25s in the next game just to lower the costs slightly... In the future I may upgrade its performance maybe for 11.1v batteries, but for now I don't see any need. Definitely a bit of a crude construction, but hey it looks the part, is sturdy, and most importantly it shoots like a beast.11 points -

Somewhat productive day in the SkunkWorks. Started off by modifying a silencer/tracer unit, wasn't so fond of the grooves in it and decided to copy the Specter one, but with 12 smaller flutes. Before: After turning the OD down, it was put in the rotary table and flutes were cut with an 8mm ball-nosed end mill. Bit of lousy paint.. And now it looks so much better. Very happy with the result. Next up was a silencer that i bought for my MP5K-PDW. It's some specific type that i didn't realise at the time, but that didn't matter. I made an insert that'd screw on to the threaded outer barrel, but go over the 3-lug QD and sit closer to the front sight block. Turned from 38mm ally, bored to clear the 3 lugs, threaded inside, with an external male thread to fit a tracer and hex flats milled too. It's secured to the outer body with a grub screw. Finished + fitted:10 points -
