  1. .......that Executives of airsoft companies in Asia are laughing at us? I imagine the sales meetings go something like this: CFO: "They'll pay how much for toy guns!? πŸ˜‚" CEO: "Even the adults?" Sales Director: "Especially the adults! 🀣" Production Manager: "Detonics don't sell very well anymore. Should we throw away the mould? πŸ€”" CEO: "Hmmm...how long would it take to fabricate a body kit, so it reassembles a gun from an anime series? That way not only will it sell well but we can quadruple the asking price!" Lead Designer: "Something like this, Boss?" https://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/Gas_Blow_Back_Pistols_Tokyo_Marui_Tokyo_Marui_Vorpal_Bunny_AM_45_Version_Llenn_GBB_Pistol_Gun_Gale_Online.htm All: "Perfect! πŸ€‘πŸ€‘πŸ€‘πŸ€‘πŸ€‘"

  3. @Daver - This thread exists to generate awareness within the AF-UK community regarding the price attached to certain adverts. On the whole AF-UK tends to have a lot of banter and at times it can have a very dry sense of humour, however, if an advert ends up in this thread usually it is warranted and how you choose to respond is up to you. At the moment your initial response was fairly reasonable, if somewhat final, which is perfectly fine but the follow up is typical of many responses we see from those who are either new to the forum or who take offence at the mere mention of the name here. A significant number of people who are mentioned in this thread fail to engage with it and that is entirely up to them. The two other types of people who tend to respond typically respond in one of two ways. The first way is to become defensive and, usually, abusive to some degree. The second type will either qualify their asking price (which you're by no means required to do) and/or seek feedback as to why their advert ended up being highlighted. One thing to bear in mind is that Hitman was not offensive towards you nor did he direct any criticism towards you beyond viewing your advert as "a little on the high side" which is perfectly understandable when you consider the asking price. This isn't to say that the asking price isn't justified, especially taking into consideration the Plano case costing around Β£140 by itself in the UK, but bear in mind that the general rule for airsoft guns and accessories tends to be 60% - 70% of retail, typically based on cheapest reputable retailer. Availability being the obvious caveat as a further consideration point. Finally, I'd recommend removing the batteries from the bundle and making them an optional extra. I'd also suggest doing the same for the optic and pouch. You may also want to fill in some details such as the manufacturer and model of the scope along with the manufacturer of the pouch.

  6. They come with very weak springs, the airseal is shit and the hop rubbers are abysmal. I reckon a new piston head o-ring, prometheus purple hop rubber and a m100/m110 will up the power to 1J-ish. Also the stock bushings are made of butter, I'd replace them asap, along with a better quality tappet plate. Regarding the suppressor, it's an overpriced POS, tell your friend to buy a longer inner and hide it with a "real" suppressor. All the people I know who have those guns did that. If your friend goes down this method, he can skip buying a new spring, although all the other steps must be followed in order to have an useable gun. I would also advise to buy a spare piston (possibly with a plastic rack, less damage to other components in case of failure), the Ares ones are kinda shit and prone to cracking at the pickup tooth.

  10. Oh there are worse issues tho, I found out the hard (and expensive) way! Unfortunately they have to make cuts in order to keep the price low, which is super competitive given what you get on paper. With my 013 I changed the bushings with bearings after a year or so, the tappet broke after 6 months, for some reason my piston is still the stock one and seals, hop rubber got swapped as soon as the gun left the box. Gun is almost 5 years old. My 009 was a different story, had to replace all the parts almost immediately, in just shy of 2 years the gearbox got rebuilt twice and it kept eating bushings and bevel gears/pinions (I have 4 chewed ones in my drawer, lol), plus the whole thing wasn't aligned at all, so the handguard was bent to the left and the outer barrel was bent to the right (yep, not even aligned with the receiver). QC issues, but the materials used for the parts I mentioned are just the cheapest crap one can buy and they WILL fail with little to very little use (most of my teammates use Amoebas and they all had the same issues with bushings, tappet and piston). So yeah, you pay relatively little for the base, but then you pay the same in replacements.

  11. Well you don't want 11.1v AND SHS 13:1 - just 11.1v as a cheap stop gap you don't HAVE TO install the mosfet right away either on a std motor (with tabs) you could just install a sb160 schotky diode across the cheap std motor with tabs to reduce arcing for a while... NB - DO NOT WRAP ONE AROUND A SHS, G&G MOTOR as the two screws connect/short through the mounting plate under end bell 101% of the time (but are insulated with plastic washers/sometime plastic screws etc... so just stopped from a short) YOU PLACE A DIODE IN A SHS TYPE MOTOR YOU CAN SHORT THE TWO TERMINALS (in a cheap std "2 tab" motor the poles never contacts the same section at same time) What they do - stop the spikes from motor/inductive load... loads of stuff out there but a before/after... https://youtu.be/F3IsdlBVwSI?t=260 & go to say 5:10 to see nearly no spark with diode https://youtu.be/F3IsdlBVwSI?t=310 (that spark is same arcing at trolley/switch in gun) So ICS know their stuff for reducing arcing - though wtf didn't they do this by default ??? However only for cheap 2 tab motors, even G&G cheapo 18k motors shouldn't have this fitted (coz shorting at the lock ring under end bell with added diode on SHS/G&G type motors) What this translates to - you can drop a diode in, run on 11.1v on shit motor and reduce the arcing thus not needing to install a mosfet straight away, to run on higher juice to squeeze out more zest NB does NOT eliminate arcing at switch like mosfet, but seriously reduce arcing from spikes for say 20p (on cheapo 2 tab motors) to run on higher juice perfect for cheapo Β£100 gun, you want to add a bit more zest with least fucking about out of the box (later on when it busts, needs a tweak then open & do the upgrades/mosfet etc...)

My Marui USP 9. As close as I can get it for Australian Commando spec. Detonator metal barrel. Repro surefire x300. Element repro surefire light mount. Sadly you can't fit a Jet Funnel magwell to a marui gun.

  13. well chaps, after todays game day, i can conclude the tm mp7 gbb is a "lovelybitofkit" and "shootslikealaser", and im not 100% sold on the DMFP. also i said to myself 10 mins b4 packing up, wow ive managed to do a game day without something breaking. 10 mins later, i managed to somehow snap the little c clip that holds the mic to the headphones.

  15. Not just the Airsoft companies, every other manufacturer of literally EVERYTHING must have the U.K. marked down as a soft touch, we get screwed over from every direction, & most people assume the position & take it. We need to be more like the French, for such a lazy bunch they seem to get shit done, they don't like something they unite & get it changed πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸŽ¨πŸ₯–πŸ§€πŸΊ Mickey Flanagan got it right 🀣

    My Vsr G-spec Build

Had my first match at Matlock combat games yesterday. I had a really good time and I must say, my VSR and MK23 performed perfectly! Got some decent ranged kills with both. It was nice to be called over to a position to help get rid of enemy snipers who had people pinned down. Everyone was friendly and the day was well organised. Over 70 people turned up so they are going booking only from now on to keep it to 50 ish. Time to spend a few more quid on a harness for my battle belt. Although not a lot of weight on it, it was niggling my lower back a little, but that's the joys of having a slipped disc. Also purchased a cheap Β£35 shotgun for when I goto Leicester Gaol. So I'm hunting for a scabbard. Should be it kit wise for a while!

    Airsoft Silencers

It is possible to quite down and AEG. I used to have an MP5 SD, which I installed a silent piston head and silent cylinder head. Installed and shimmed helican gears, replaced the motor for a slower one, foamed all the body towards the front of the MP5. The end result was that it was not β€œsilent” but other airsofters said that it was very very quite for an AEG. Worth experimenting and fun to do.

  18. solid advice there the mistake you're making is trying to sell everything as a single package. you're selling a vector, meaning your prospective buyer is probably going to be more interested in it as a cqb gun, therefore a magnified optic like that is worthless to them. same applies for the drum mag, some folk just dont like marracca's hanging off their gun so for those people a drum is just going to be something that's either not going to get used or is hassle for them to sell on. as freefrag correctly points out if a manufacturer isn't specified and it can't be easily identified from the photos then people reasonably have to assume the worst when estimating value. for example if i were in the market for a vector and saw that ad what i'd see is a gun, some midcaps, couple of batteries in unknown condition and a bunch of stuff that will either need to be sold on again or end up permanent residents in various boxes of random airsoft bits. now you could strike lucky and find someone who just happens to want, whilst simultaneously not currently having, exactly the combination of bits your selling. but that's really narrowing your market.

  22. AR platform = Tokyo Marui MWS. AK's = GHK. SMG's - Tokyo Marui MP7 and the WE MP5 Apache series. There was a recent thread which went to quite some length when discussing GBBR's. As a side note GHK also produce an AUG and Sig SG553. With a short barrel set I imagine the AUG would fit nicely into a rifle bag and the SG553 is a relatively compact rifle, especially with the stock folded.

  24. Had my first game at my local CQB probably two years ago - My friends had done paintball before and didn't like it so I couldn't convince them to try it and so I eventually had to bite the bullet and go alone. Already bought all the gear so I didn't feel like a twat turning up in jeans and a jumper so I had camo, helmet, boots etc - used the sites stock M4s but found they were a bit long for the arena; I enjoyed it enough to keep going so for my second game I made sure I had my own gun, a JG Ika Zuchi / Thunder Maul which didn't need a UKARA number (I like to be that guy with a unique looking gun) Most people there were friendly, quite a few first timers actually, which made me feel more relaxed - not the kind of people I would find myself hanging around with outside of the site unfortunately but friendly enough, maybe just a clique for the location??? I've only been to one outdoor game at Otley Stealth woods but I felt that was an even bigger mix of people and probably found it easier to make friends there as it wasnt "everyones local club" you know, where most people already know each other... One tip - If you're 5'2", weigh less than 10 St and are already super unfit, try not to wander around a woodland setting dragging around an SGR 12 for a full 8 hour game.
