  1. If they recuit players that don't call their hits we'll have an amazing advantage when enemy bullets just bounce off them! 👌🏻

  5. "High-end gas-powered airsoft rifles can be purchased for as little at £250 and upwards of £1,700 online in the UK." For once, a press piece is actually (semi) accurate with some details. But TBH, i would like to think airsofters over the age of 23 are switched on enough to know that these are toys, and military life is more than just shooting people. And the 95% of the rest wouldn't pass the fitness or aptitude tests.

  7. & as a Mod you're gonna be fast tracked to Sandhurst. An interesting development, I see it as a possitive bit of news regarding airsoft, certainly beats the usual wally in a Tube Station waving a RIF about headlines. If this is successful, we might be able to expect a bigger range of L85's, more Virtus kit (clones or simply more on the marketplace), possibly an incentive for airsoft manufacturers to release a range of KS1's too, which should in theory make them cheaper but demand would probably still keep the price high. Realistically I honestly think this could be good for our hobby, but given the international current affairs I wouldn't be surprised if conscription wasn't seriously considered for our younger generation and the use of airsoft in recruiting is a baby step towards a much bigger end goal.

  8. Sounds like you're one of those "I yell at 14 year olds when they shoot me with more than 1 BB" kinds of players. I'd argue it's more unacceptable to yell at people and throw a tantrum when you get hit by BBs while playing airsoft, especially when walking in the middle of a firefight.

  10. That's odd. I only see SOPMOD adapter with the NGRS TM AR-15-based guns. Can you not use a 8.4V NiMH or 7.4V LiPo, either of which have a Tamiya lead? The Rebel charger you described is one that charges through the balance lead rather than on the Tamiya/Deans/XT60 lead and a balance lead.

  11. I think perhaps this is being misinterpeted. I didn't read it as they're looking to recruit airsofters at all. What I took from it is that the MOD are looking to procure RIFs for use at recruiting events. I'm sure we've all seen the recruiting tables where real weapons are chained to the table and you're allowed to pick them up and handle them. I imagine the RIFs are for a similar purpose, and can also perhaps be used for small shooting ranges alongside the stalls, as well as allowing more stalls to be set up, without having to tie up real weapons. There comes your engagement part - young guys with an interest in firearms, probably not even knowing what airsoft is, walk past the stall and get invited to come and try shooting one for free. Wow- this is fun - how'd you like to get paid to shoot real ones?

  13. Or approximately three "starter set bundles" on usedairsoft. There does seem to be a core of sense to this, although how it actually translates to recruitment is quite another matter. I can see £120,000 being blown on mouse-mats, mugs and biscuits without a single visit to an actual airsoft site to say "Hey, do you want to try a really hot gun?"

  14. £1700? Those are rookie numbers. Remember when RA-TECH were selling an M14 EBR GBBR for £3k? And it didn’t even work out of the box 🤣

  15. Thank you to all for the warm welcome I would reply individually but still learning how to use the forum. Yes we welcome all criticism good and bad because both help a company build. We have a lot of work to do at the site but we will get there. You are all welcome with us. Regards Josh On the note of improving the experience of the games. What do you all as member of here like to see at a cqb site? Are there any game types or ideas you want to try. We are more than happy to discuss them and try bring them to a reality.

  16. While the BFBS article of course isn't objectively correct on the law.. like.. come one now, for journalists, they got pretty close right?? Compared to most pics of SF blokes that the sun puts out and labels every item of kit totally incorrectly. Personally, I got my first AEG 06, joined up in 07, not because of airsoft but I'd spent my entire childhood being taken to military museums of all kinds at any opportunity by my parents, so that seed was thoroughly planted in my mind. They didn't intend to give me that mindset by any stretch, not much service history in my family at all, but that's how it went. As we know of course the reality is totally different to this game/hobby, but that's absolutely fine, that's what basic training is for. There's no difference between an avid CoD gamer and an airsofter in that regard, both might have misconceptions going in which will be very quickly dissolved. They'll either follow instruction and pass, or they'll get put back and try again if they're unsafe or don't generally get with the program. Fact is there are... concerns, with retention and I don't think recruitment numbers are very high either. Spending your recruitment budget on targeting people who might actually have an interest is one of the better decisions I've seen in quite a few years personally.

  19. Good luck with your new venture & welcome to afuk. I think I remember sneakyducks posts, he seemed to take constructive criticism badly lol. I hope you can appreciate that here free speech is embraced (within reason), & at the forums core are many experienced members, some of whom literally have more than 2 decades of playing experience under their belts, & will happily share their thoughts on the pros & cons of all aspects of sites & gamedays. if yours gets mentioned it's meant with the best intention to support or improve players experiences, which ultimately is what everyone wants. Thanks for posting. Mark🍻

  22. If the MoD are reading here goes Improve pay, make sure buildings on bases are suitable and fit for human habitation and stop putting soldiers in court for doing their jobs. Can I have my £120,000 now as these would improve recruitment and retention levels far better than letting joe public fondle a couple of toy guns

  29. Oh, we're going to be sensible about this now? Is the WE the only GBBR L85? Given that we're moving towards the L403A1 / KS-1, I wonder if they'll just skip straight to an Assault-Rifle-15 GBBR.

  36. The ASG is a rebranded KWA/KSC M93R. however there are several versions that don't have mag cross compatibility. The gun is most likely an M93R II which uses NS2/System 7 mags.

  41. I try not to judge a man/woman/otherwise by immutable characteristics like their age, race, culture, lack of socio-economic status, skin pigmentation, physical/mental divergence, their (age appropriate) bedfellow(s) or their god(s). But turning up to a site with those is a choice, and you chose poorly....... Same with 2-toning something rare, dont care if you day-glo a common gat we all gotta work around the rules but you show up with a lime green ppsh and it's not a bit, well, that's a choice........

  42. You would probably get quicker sales, and ultimately make more if you were to list separately, or as a minimum bundle similar items (e.g. your M4 mags) into smaller bundles to sell. Very few potential customers are going to want everything in your complete bundle, so in order to make the purchase worthwhile to them, they would be looking to sell the unwanted items on at a profit. All of that adds up to less money for you if you don't separate it out.

  43. What makes it worse is that I've had so many examples of live players using dead players as cover. I've had people pinned behind a barricade wait for dead players to walk across where they're getting shot from (by me, watching them through my scope), and then move up using the dead players as cover. The only times I won't shoot are when someone is within my MED. I'm a decent shot and my rifles are obsessively tuned, so if I think I can hit the live players, I'll take the shot. However, nobody's perfect, and airsoft guns are nowhere near as precise as some people think they are, so I'll sometimes hit the dead players and it's not (entirely) their fault. Most people don't cause a fuss and will simply accelerate or step to the side, but a select few will. I've been "overshot" so many times when I've been hit, put my hand up, and stood up from my hidden position or exited the bush I was under. People get spooked when a ghillie suddenly appears out of seemingly nowhere and will sometimes unload on full auto in a panic And those select few are the ones I'll shoot on their way to respawn on purpose. I'm generally quite mellow and do my best to avoid shooting players who are already hit, but if you frequently lose your rag due to being shot when you're already dead and overreact and throw your toys out of the pram, you bet your bottom dollar I'm going to line up the shot through my scope and deliberately shoot you in the arse when you're walking back to respawn 🤣

I think anyone who played before and through 2007 would agree with you there. If you want to play like this, why not just play paintball? They've been doing this for ages

  45. Nah, personally I'm not convinced to be honest. Situations like this are inevitable - getting hit on the way back to respawn is frequently par for the course. Anyone who mouths off to other players when the inevitable thing happens are bringing bad attitude and aggression into game - there is no place for this type of behaviour. The shooting was an accident - we can debate all the factors as to why it happened or shouldn't have happened, but ultimately it wasn't a deliberate act. The unacceptable reaction from the player that got (over) shot was a deliberate act.
