TM aircocking model with the aeg version stock added. Took a little tinkering. Why? Because I can.

  3. Both my local sites were cancelled the last two game days. Both inaccessible and unsafe due to deadfall. As for bad weather kit, I like to use a tshirt and combats when I can. I do often take a camping shower and a stove and kettle. The drive home in clean gear and the smell of old Old Spice feels like luxury. I'd prefer Hai Karate but its damn hard to find these days.

  4. Gunman Tuddenham filmsim on Saturday. Every time I use this chest rig I like it even more, don’t feel the need to tweak the way it’s set up at all. Ran the L119A1, had to fiddle the hop a little bit - potentially from where the rubber is starting to bed in. Next buy is between a plate carrier to give it another go, or a belt set up that will work with the chest rig.

  8. Asg ultrair can be with or without silicone. I'm unsure how a gas can be better or worse than another, the mixtures all work the same way, a propane/butane mix will be indistinguishable from can to can esp if there's no silicone. If you find a pressure that works for you then that's the best. ASG usefully are upfront about pressure, formulation and temp range.

  12. Back in the day I used to wonder why people would pack a baseball bat as their preferred weapon when a cricket bat would do the job just as well but be that little bit more convincing for the UK Ribbed for pleasure and wider at one end to minimise the risk of going to A&E to have it removed after ‘falling over’ onto it I know someone who was done for his fruit knife, but he was a repeat drink drive offender and able to provide valid reasons for all his tree surgeon assorted blades He accepted that it was fair enough for everything he usually ignored

  13. @Rogerborg yep, I imagine rents and rates through the roof. Love how the article starts off "New Paintball Venue", then by the 3rd paragraph the author has already converted over to Airsoft 🙂 And what's a local Democracy reporter? lol....Jezzz BBC at it again. So glad I cancelled my TVL.

  14. Picked up a M16A4 from a friend today for a good price, ordered an E&C M16A2 receiver with burst engraved, genuine M16 triangle for an M203, as well as an M203 and old school heat shield. Also bought a Gate Aster to have the burst mode. All of this because I watched Generation Kill again.

  15. After a month of sourcing parts. I have converted this Evo Airsoft AK-104 exterior to the AK-204 model. The handguard was 3D printed. To my understanding, the closest thing to a stock airsoft model is the 2024 ELAK74M3 by E&L.

Plus Araments make one with adjustable timing https://www.pulsearmaments.com/product-page/Gen2-B1-209 They're a little on the expensive side and while slimmer they're are probably not much smaller overall. There doesn't seem to be many timed bfgs on the market. I personally have an oshiboom impact and as you said they don't work very well outside of the hardest of surfaces. I've also got a SWAT BFG which i'm pretty sure is a clone/improvment? of the dynatex

  20. Why do you think o rings dry out? Perhaps it depends on the o ring type, but I don't think any o rings have oils etc recommended to moisten thier insides. Rubber doesn't like propane, nitrile and viton are the choices. I'd presume modern magazines use nitrile o rings. Orings shouldn't absorb anything, they need to resist chemical attack stop any gas or fluid getting past them. Very cold o rings may get damaged as they lose elasticity which I'd suggest is what the valve o rings experience. You can fill the gaps in seated worn o rings using an oil or grease to get them to seal again, clean them or reseat them to get them to seal again but they don't dry out. If they appear that way they are ready for replacement. The surfaces wear and don't seal properly on moving o rings like valves for example. O rings do degrade over time, rubber is particularly vulnerable to this, but we should be using nitrile o rings yes? Wetting the oring is a temporary fix until the wetting agent has gone, altho the lubed o ring may have seated itself better than before. https://www.marcorubber.com/o-ring-failure.htm https://www.engineerlive.com/content/why-do-o-rings-fail

  21. Watching with interest The actual application: https://planning.walsall.gov.uk/swift/apas/run/WPHAPPDETAIL.DisplayUrl?theApnID=23/1524 The proposed plan: https://planning.walsall.gov.uk/swift/MediaTemp/76733-421574.pdf The main level says 21,151 sq ft which is about 1965 m2, discounting safe zones etc it will be a bit smaller so it will be a Class S indoor site according to my classification table The linear central corridor with many shops branching from it is far from ideal from a good layout in terms of map design, you can imagine all the shop frontages will become camping spots and there will be a lot of these with no options for going around, it will be extremely challenging if not impossible to design a good map with this sort of layout

    The gutless wonder...

I would suggest checking the actual fit of the nozzle in the hop and double check the cylinder is sealing properly. I've got a 6mm nozzle and 2 hops, one fits one doesn't. Can tell which is which. Unhelpful I know.

Ah yeah, I think I got em mixed up. Its just a piston sucking air through a small vent hole to do the timing if I remember correctly. It should be possible to put it in a smaller body or even make a smaller diameter piston but it would have to be matched to the spring strength. And the body would have to be quite strong. I imagine they have a patent on the design.

  35. Propane user here , add my own lube where I want it , not where there gas router wants to spray it . I favour greases over oils as they hold their place for much longer , nothing silicone based for metal on metal .

  36. Yup, everyone develops their own ideas and practices I only recently “discovered” gbbr’s 3 yrs ago, and have evolved my own practices for running them, I don’t mind a bit of maintenance on my gbbr RIF’s, they aren’t as demanding as some YT videos or websites make them out to be, but sure, they do take a little bit more thought than cleaning an aeg barrel and charging a battery. Roughly once a year I will drop a tiny bit of lube into my valves before gassing them up, it may be a placebo, but I feel it helps keep the seals alive, also a little check to ensure the valves are tight works wonders I’ll maybe give the RIF’s a quick strip, clean then re grease the bcg and nozzle seals, again, moving parts need lubed for a friction free life. A drop of oil on the hammer and sears etc or grease, depending on what model I’m maintaining. I’ll remove the inner barrel and clean the hop unit & rubber maybe every second use. But I won’t use a gas with silicon in it. I once experienced terrible accuracy and consistency when using Nuprol gas and stripped my replica down to check the hop to see what the issue was, not surprisingly it was soaking wet with silicon oil (or whatever was in the green gas mixture) I’m of the opinion that a happy hop rubber is a bone dry one. Ultrair is now my gas of choice as they supply silicon free propellants, I’ve never had an issue whilst running it. Lots of different opinions in here which is good to see

  37. Yep, each to their own 😁 I only have 8 years experience but I've fixed a few leaking mags which either arrived leaking from new or second hand. Can't think of any I've had that started leaking (Except a Co2 mag which I hate) You seem pretty convinced to me so to answer your question, you'll be wanting Propane. Its Dry and cheap 😉

Best "Dry" Gas for the UK?

The most common cause of leaks is the O-rings rubber drying out which makes them loose elasticity and shrink. If you've ever repaired a leaky magazine assuming the o-ring hasn't been damaged, applying some oil or grease will often fix the problem.

  40. I know his channel and usually agree with what he says... but not this time. I'd rather clean the barrel and hop once in a while than take all the valves out of my mags to oil them separately. Its your choice of course 😉

  41. I think most people would but I think you're missing the point. In the heat of the moment 99.9% of people wouldn't be looking at the blade trying to see if it's real or not Easier to get hold of by under 18s is the only thing I can think of as they can't buy them. However as most of the knives confiscated from kids/teens have been nicked from the kitchen drawer it's going to be as effective as a chocolate fireguard

  42. To be pedantic - ‘most trade folk persons’ do not carry offensive weapons that they call tools of the trade ……. They carry tools of the trade with good reason, of which could be an offensive weapon if carried in public without good reason Certain items are automatically an offensive weapon - and there is no good reason for tradesmen etc to carry them Other items have perfectly valid use and are not automatically an offensive weapon - but are an offensive weapon if carried with intent

  47. Decided to have a look into this as have a mate near Cheltenham and though it might be interesting to check out having read through as much as I could on their site this event seems weird to say the least. The price of standard play entry seems a bit of a red flag due to just how low it is £100 for 5 days of airsoft, 4 nights of camping and other entertainment, that's £20 a day, you'd be lucky to find a site that would run a standard 6-8hr game for that price let alone a big event. Reading through the tournament rules though is where this get wild to me though, as while it is possible that a team could win the £100,000 the odds are on the impossible side, this isn't a simple knockout style tournament winner takes the cash. To quickly (as possible) summarize how the 'tournament' works (as best I understand it) there are 10 'heats' over 2 days, these heats are more like challenges though test your aim, team building, etc. where teams can score a maximum of 10 points per 'heat' (100 points total), at the end of the second day the top 4 scoring teams will enter into a knockout style playoff. Now the team that wins the playoffs doesn't instantly win the money they only have a chance to win it, the winning team then needs to play against the 5th - 15th place teams (so a team of 8 against a possible team of 80) if the team of 8 complete all the objectives in the final game they win the £100,000, if the opposing team of 80 wins the money is split among them. However the team of 80 can only get a cut of that money up to £1250 and they must survive to get anything so if only 20 people from that team of 80 survives only 20 x £1250 = £25,000 is handed out. HOWEVER if the team of 8 completes some of the objectives then the £1250 each player receives is decreased for each objective they complete e.g. if there are 5 objectives and 3 are completed and 20 players from the team of 80 survive and each objective knock off £250 then the winnings handed out will be (20 x (1250 - (3 x 250))) = £10,000. Feel free to double check this with the website https://www.operation-scorpio.net/programme as it took me quite a while to wrap my head around it so may well have missed something but that was as best I could understand it. So the only way £100,000 is getting handed out is if one team of 8 takes on and defeats 80 players or 80 players successfully hold x number of objectives without a single player going down.
