It's not the size, it's what you do with it? Or something like that? So they say? Possibly? I mean, I think, not that it applies to me, you know, kind of, sort of, perhaps. 👀4 points -

If you have been, are going to, or are threatened with having to go to Stoke on Trent, you have plenty of reasons to moan. Even the vague reminiscences about Stoke that this thread has bought on have made me monumentally bad tempered. As for round seals, buy a selection of thicknesses of Viton from eBay and get a set of punches. I'm making Brembo F08 calliper seals tomorrow.4 points -

Been to that Fort when I was little (my dad was from there). Used to sneak out into the estuary with him and my brother to go camping on the medway forts (Darnet & Hoo) which was a bit naughty even in the 80's. Sailing out on an overloaded, puncture ridden Avon rubber dinghy with a clapped out 4hp Johnson outboard motor, that I don't remember ever making a journey of any length without breaking down no matter how much he tested it in a bucket the day before. Fun times. 🤣2 points -
Skirmishing using GBBR's
gavinkempsell and one other reacted to EDcase for a topic
I know the feeling as I always use single shot even with an AEG and Hi-Cap. (I tend to die when moving up so needs good co-ordination and suppression from fellow players to work) I may give my GBBR a go when I can get enough mags. (Though my main at the moment is a Lonex BAW 😍 which kicks as much as any of my GBBRs)2 points -

So 150 shots maximum before you have to stop and reload mags 😁 Its going to be tough going up against AEGs and HPA with hi-caps at 20+ rps 😬 Eh? With a GBBR that's the ONLY way to play 🙄 Gunman FilmSim days have single shot rules and ammo restrictions of 600 BB's for general players. (Other rules for machine gunners, snipers etc) I'm tempted to take a GBBR to one of those games.2 points -

Just less spray & pray. I'm 6'4" & just as wide... they'll know where I am anyway. Got 5 for each GBBR & a million hicaps for my AEG's. And an odin with adaptor for my XM177 mags, & normal speed loader for my Scar mags & pistol mags.2 points -
1. Any 10 quid speed loader does the same job to be honest. Ofc you can spend money on Odin and Odin adapters if you want to. 2. Acetech innovated and innovates constantly on tracers so I'd say yes. 3. Feyachi plus a cap from reddotengineering should be more than enough for now. Later on you can spend decent amount of money on either Vortex or Holy Warrior if you fancy Eotech replicas. 4. No clue I don't use iron. 5. Mine never fogged up those lenses are simply the best out there but you can run an exfog unit on it if you're dead set on i5. Cheek weld is gonna rubbish though so you need some kind of riser for optics more than likely. 6. If anyone did a threaded outer barrel for it it shouldn't be a problem to put one on. That PX4 is quite niche it's not like a Glock or Hi-Capa or other very popular models.2 points

2. Tracer Unit's are much brighter these days. Go with a new one. 5. Anything will fog up with someone determined enough, but it's probably a good choice. 6. The issue is finding a threaded barrel. Detonator made one but they are long discontinued and very expensive. Due to the rotating nature of the barrel it's not the greatest platform to run a silencer either. Use a different pistol.2 points

So, I went on my first skirmish last night, in almost 6 years! Also, first time at Z-Mart. Had a really good time, a bit sore but glad I made the last minute decision to go. As I hadn't used my gear in a long time, things have broken and need replacing now. Just wanting some advice on replacement parts and things I would like to add to my load out. 1. My Marui XL BB Loader broke, should I replace it with the same part or is there a better one available? 2. My Marui Tracer Unit seems a bit dull compared to others that were being used on the night. Not sure if mine is on its way out or there are newer, better models available? 3. Need a new sight, my 552 replica has died, thinking of going for a Reflex sight. What are the current good, durable brands? Is Aim a good one? 4. Also, my soldering iron has died. It's an old Maplin one, any advice on a really good replacement that won't break the bank? 5. Dye i5 masks, are there any issues with fogging up? 6. Are there any tracer units available for my Marui PX4 pistol? My guns are: Marui HK416 rifle and Marui PX4 pistol. TIA1 point

and tbf, if there's any valid reason to use .12's, it's in a grenade. no better use for the fired/dirty/crap ammo that you wouldn't want to put through a pew.1 point -
Surely if the motor has a hard brake instead of a soft break that's going to impact the motor quicker? I'm just going on what I've seen in the past ten years. I'd say 90% of the motor returns / failures I've had from customers have been caused by the Titan adaptive AB feature, or at least that's the one thing they all have in common. Perhaps it's something else that's going on with the feature.1 point

Yes, it's really hard to get it back tho, so I normally get another one already filled with smoke Omg. Airsoft eh? Make it your avatar pic You can probably thank TM for the polarity issue...1 point
-
Yeah the gearbox is the same, but the grip covers the whole gearbox so when the motor is installed you can't see it where the pinion meets the bevel. I cobbled some tube etc together to position the motor, shimmed the bevel then I'll sort motor height in due course. Maybe this eve...1 point

Looking forward to your experience report. How many mags are you taking?1 point -
Work your way in closer to the other team, conserve ammo and pick shots , remember that once you open up they will know where you are from the sound of a GBBR , Keep your mags warm . Above all prepare for a much more immersive experience than any aeg1 point

What's the SHS motor out of interest? Be careful with that Adaptive AB setting and 11.1v, can easily spanner a motor. As Loz says try with a 7.4 and well worth getting a basic soldering kit for the battery connector conversion.1 point

The reason why the Dyes might be better than the Bolle is the Dual Pane lens. Which goes some way to negate fog. Truth is if you are a sweaty bastard naturally there is very little you can do unless you keep moving, use anti fog or get some decent fan based goggles that are powerful enough.1 point
-
Which model, the Lynx? Do you use the gasket with it as well? Not the biggest fan of regular ballistic eye glasses. Had a close call a while back, not a pleasant experience. I currently use the Bolle X1000 ballistic goggles with Revision wipes. I still get a load of condensation when camping, etc. When I'm on the move they are fine though. Someone suggested the Dye i5 to me but I'm not the biggest fan of paintball styled masks either. However, if it allows me to see!😂1 point

Everything i own uses 0.28's. Except the grenade. that gets filled up with the leftovers bottle. Which includes 0.12's!!1 point

Then I would say use what you already have, set the hop and see if it's good enough. Don't worry about what other people use because it may well not work the same for you.1 point

Do you, or did you , have a MOSFET? If you did it's likely the source of the smoke.1 point -
If it worked for you might as well stick with it, but a lot of people like the Odin speed loaders, may be worth a look. I've got the "AceTech Brighter C" and cannot recommend it enough. Depends on what you want to spend, Nuprol ones do the job, but if you want something a bit more cheeky, the Vortex range is a good go-to. Not my cup of tea due to restrictions on peripheral vision and claustrophobic feel. I use "Bloc Tactical" EyePro and they are fantastic, never fog up, are literally bulletproof, and have interchangeable lenses for different environments. A lot of this is preference more than anything, but hope this helps. I might have to get back down to z-mart again, was a laugh last time!1 point
-
I'm going to take a guess and say that you might have got an adapter wired up for RC cars, which will be reversed. I've had them myself, but caught it beforehand luckily, and seen plenty of people caught out by this. IIRC, the larger sized contact on the deans should go to the round contact on the mini Tamiya. Can you post a photo to confirm? Also, put the affected batteries outside somewhere safe! I believe the correct protocol is to cut off the contacts (one wire at a time) and then put it in a bucket of saltwater, but others can confirm.1 point

I mostly go on my own too - agreed that at first i felt a bit uncomfortable as it seems everyone else is in big crowds of mates - but the reality is there are lots of others like us, quietly getting on with sorting our kit in the corner. And if you are so inclined, without fail, I've always found people will strike up a conversation at the slightest opportunity - ultimately you automatically have rather a lot of common ground with everyone else there! Also - agreed - DPM (and, similarly, Multicam Tropic) is beyond effective with Rhododendron! It was of course designed for a dense woodland environment of central Europe. Multicam/MTP is very effective, but ultimately a bit of a compromise, and is a touch too light in heavy cover (whereas DPM sticks out as a dark blob in open ground or very light cover).1 point -

I think i did a thing......DYE and FAST
cst2b9sa1 reacted to Point Two Balls for a topic
Hi Guys, After mulling over the eye pro, face mask, helmet, hat dilema, I think I did a thing..... I removed all the interior and the straps of the Nuprol FAST helmet, swapped a few screws around so they didn't scratch the DYE lens and put the DYE strap around the back of the helmet, and it all seems to work and stay in place by only using the adjuster on the back of the helmet - no chin strap required. Not committed to cutting off the straps yet. Looks pretty stealthy to me... Pat.1 point
