The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Rogerborg and one other reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
A decent site will ensure that the HPA inline regulators are locked down with a cable tie, and will conduct spot-checks during the course of the game day. If your site is not doing that - then find one that does. Again, I have seen real-steel sights and genuine Surefires get smashed by legit, chrono-checked 1j AEGs, so your argument about equipment doesn't hold much weight. You don't like HPA guns - we get it. But they are very much here to stay so you will have to learn to live with them if you want to continue with this hobby.2 points -

ECWCS - Exwax Keeps you warm
Lozart reacted to The Waco Kid for a topic
Gen 1 ECWCS along side bdu. Doesn’t include the Arctic accessories and M65 parts. I am not sure how often the latter were carried due to bulk. Various levels of the original system shown in the manual. Wool and wool blends were specifically not used for the main garments. Possibly to make the ensemble easier to dry in the field. Small accessories did use some wool content. Image from Natick development I believe. Full set up with the Pasgt helmet under hood, the extreme cold weather mittens (fur back, no separate trigger finger) and type 2 aka “bunny” boots. Both type 1 (black “Mickey Mouse” rubber boot) and type 2 (named after Arctic Hare) use vacuum technology like a thermos flask. The boots have valves to equalise them when flying.1 point -
MP7 obv better for CQB/Rush work, but MWS hands down best ranged GBBR on the planet. MP7 is satisfyingly loud, but i am still annoyed they havent made a new version that is FULL SIZE!!!1 point
-
OP obv not browsed through the MWS thread. As others have said don’t mess with it, it doesn’t need ‘upgrading’. Carry a spare nozzle return spring and nozzle, TM or GM brand. You will be carrying these spares NOT because they will break due to a design flaw but because if you do need them they can be hard to find in a hurry. Over a looooong time the return spring can fatigue - like 10s of thousands of rounds. And the nozzle may get damaged if you get crud in your mag, or use crap/old/swollen BBs Again most people break nozzles because they’ve ‘upgraded’ other parts. Leave it alone!!1 point

Wow, what a surprise, I wonder if I put a stronger spring in my gun after chrono this would also happen? what about using a higher pressure gas in my Gas Blowback? If people want to cheat then they can with any platform, not denying that it is theoretically slightly easier on HPA, but it is up to the site to make sure this doesn't happen. Locking regulators and random choro checks should be mandatory. if you banned HPA these people would just swap the spring in an AEG after chrono or run gas mags with black gas but only chrono on green. HPA doesn't hit any harder than any other gun at the same power level, it is people cheating with HPA that are the problem not the system its self.1 point -

2nd post in a row with a hard-on for hating HPA players and blaming them for everything. Will your next post also blame them for world hunger? 🤣 @Skara has the right of it, it's the player, not the gun, and dickheads will be dickheads regardless what they're using. Though it is very easy to build a wankergun with HPA, not all HPA are wankerguns and not all wankerguns are HPA. I don't think I've ever had any issues with the HPA regulars at my local site, and we have some pretty dedicated HPA players. Also, not all HPA systems are spammy; my HPA m21 really, really hates it if I try to spam the trigger as firstly the mags can't keep up and will stop feeding well and becomes inconsistent, inaccurate and generally just bad if I spam. The only issue people have had with me running my HPA m21 is the classic "that's a bit close for a sniper isn't it?" because it looks like a sniper, sounds like a sniper and I'm dressed like a bush like a sniper, but it's 1.1J and I have the same issue with my m700 when I run that lower power as well. Also, again, as Skara said... Sounds like you need to find a new site1 point

Well, most of the HPA players I've come across have been no problem at all - they have enough self awareness to recognise that they will be more heavily scrutinised purely on their choice of power source for their plastic people shooter. I've probably had more problems with DSG and Super-duper Hi-speed AEG build owners over the years than HPA. As @Skara so eloquently put it - it's the player, not the gun. And I've seen very expensive gear get (surprisingly) smashed up with 1j guns (well before HPA became a 'thing') and if people don't wear full-face protection, then I don't have much sympathy for injuries that are clearly avoidable. P.S. I don't own anything HPA or remotely 'Hi-Speed'.1 point -
Nice bait. It's not the gun, it's the player, give a cunt an AEG/GBB/BA/£10 springer and he'll still be a cunt. Also you should look for other sites1 point

anyone bought from MLE Mart?

They're sound. Ordered few bits from there before. As long as you stay under 135 pounds you should be fine regarding VAT and customs fees.1 point -

Alexdima579 reacted to Duff Beer for a topic
Yep, regularly get the odd bits and pieces from them. They were one of the only places that had the steel stock catch for the MP7 in stock. Just ordered a ‘Surefire’ Scout mount too. Orders usually take between one to two weeks. I don’t know if I’d buy a RIF from them, but for hard to find bits and bobs I recommend them1 point -

Alexdima579 reacted to Tommikka for a topic
Under new regulations if an overseas seller registers with HMRC they can charge UK VAT, and it just becomes a slower delivery across borders (They declare appropriate references on the customs documents and pay HMRC) If not then they charge you their sale price and overseas postage, it arrives at the border via a carriers handling centre, the carrier check the declarations and send you as importer an import VAT bill of 20% of the item valuation (which may be the invoice amount or may be revalued for the UK) plus the carrier add their handling fee (which could be a fixed fee or could be a percentage) There is also likely to be VCRA validation of your defence to import a RIF Customs/Border Force may inspect, but most items just get handled by authorised carriers1 point -

Somebody more enlightened than me may have more information, but I think it's based on the VAT value of whatever you're bringing into the country, and a handling fee.1 point -
RIFs on a Plane
rj1986 reacted to Dan Robinson for a topic
Little update.... Getting packed for the plane back home now. Spent most of the break with a stinking head cold and a fever that knocked me out for two days and nights. Which seems to happen every time I come here. Hey ho. Made it to Akihabara this afternoon and picked up a Tokyo Marui Glock 19 for the boy at around £80 and the famous Auto 9 Robocop hand cannon. For about £140. Spoke to Japan Airlines, and although cutting it close as the want 72 hours notice not 24 (bloody illness), but was told to fax them the spec sheets and a covering note with flight numbers and they'd get back in touch. Which of course they did when we were on the train where answering the phone is a big no no culturally. So had to hoped they'd call again. Which they did. All I need to do is take the guns to the airport, prove there's no gas in them and they will check them into my hold luggage with no extra charges mentioned. Happy days. Fingers crossed it is that simple at the Heathrow end.... But if you hear of a terrorist incident tomorrow afternoon, it might be me and the boy. Somewhat surprised that a place so technically advanced still relies on fax machines, but this place is a bit weird like that. SWMBO is far from impressed however. 🤣🤣🤣🤣1 point -
