Just taking a few pics of everything in the collection to catagolize it, so I'll join with that AK GHK AKMs with steel outer, steel trigger unit parts, recoil kit, steel hopup unit, steel LCT PBS-1, Ra-Tech wood grip, a bunch of GHK mags and 2 ProWin mags (which must be the most stupid design for a 3rd-party mag-rebuild ever, you cannot fill them with gas without a fairly long adapter piece for the gas bottle )

  3. nope, it's a known thing. problem is unlike video games you gotta put some effort into finding the dot, which to my thinking defeats the purpose because by the time you use the irons or part of the slide to get lined up to then use the dot you've lost the time that the dot is supposed to be saving. for precise target shooting where you can hold the dot through multiple targets yeah it makes sense, but for airsoft purposes i tend to split pistol engagements into 2 categories: if they're close just instinct shoot (aka hip fire) if they're far use the irons. if they're too far to hit quickly by hip firing, and too close for you to take your time with the sights, then you'll have plenty of time on the walk back to respawn to consider that you should have been using a rifle at least with rifles you can use the stock to reliably hold your head in the right place, which is where the likes of the pistol carbine kits are useful.

  4. Now thats a loaded question. Edgi seem to be very highly regarded when it comes to top of the line, but you're talking bespoke craftsmanship. Personally i'm a big fan of the pdi stainless steel stuff pricey but good quality. For a more budget option the zci 6.02 stainless barrels @ak2m4 sells punch well above their pricetag for performance.

  7. generally i'd assume pistol issuance in militaries falls into 2 broad categories: people who aren't really meant to be using them that much if at all (officers, cooks, engineers, tank crew etc, you can say the same for infantry sidearms too because they're meant to use a rifle) spoopy special forces people, who presumably will be so well practiced that using a dot or irons would be as much a matter of personal preference/particular mission as anything else. i cant tell if i should interpret that as you being really bad at hipfiring pistols or really good at throwing stuff

  8. Shouldnt be too hard to mod to a No.4

  9. Has to be said that I think what people really want is a nice spring No4 and I never looked before now but I'm amazed the red wolf cost that much given the many notorious errors and quality issues. Well.. not amazed, this is the airsoft world, we expect perfection for pennies in tiny production quantities and some of the manufacturers are pretty clueless, but anyway. Hopefully if S&T can use a fair amount of these same parts they could also do a No4 after this without too much extra difficulty.

I will be running a similar build. My Z-Parts 13.5" MK16 Handguard will be here tomorrow. Currently I have a Z-Parts 10.5" MK16 Handguard on my MWS. It is only hand tightened as I am waiting for a wrench. I have about an 1/8" gap between my upper receiver and my Mk16 at the picatinny rail, will this go away once I tighten with the wrench?

  14. i'll be honest, bolt guns aren't my thing, but the mosin was kinda fun, but one of those you gotta be in the right mood to activate hard mode kind of things. the only reason to go for a stronger spring is to increase the energy the gun is putting out (big big caveat that we're assuming good air-seal and getting all the oomph the spring has out the barrel) of course high speed you get premature engagement issues which a stronger spring will solve, however that can push you over the limit so you short-stroke which brings it back down (and also helps avoid pme as well), but in doing so you're limiting the cylinder volume you can use which for a given standard of accuracy limits the barrel length you can use (hence why many stupid high rof guns have short barrels). personally i'd focus on accuracy first, if you want a snappy trigger then a precocking mosfet like a warfet will do a hell of a lot without needing to change out half the bits in the gun. as for speed chasing in an aeg, well my tuppence on the matter is it's an exponentially expensive road that inevitably ends in surrendering your soul (and credit card) to the hpa devil. As @Alimcd says twenty is plenty, if you're sending 20-25 rounds per second downrange and the target isn't calling it then your problem is either you aint hitting shit, or the guy your shooting won't call shit. neither of these are problems having a gun spitting out double the amount of plastic is gonna solve.

  15. Very nice WWII gear pics here! Hope it's ok to just post gun-pics aswell, as I don't play or reenact, just collect I'll start with one of the very few non-airsoft modelguns in the collection: Shoei FG42 late version. If you ever get the opportunity to get your hands on one of these, take it! They re superbly built and incredibly nice collector's pieces. Had 2 of them for a while, the one without scope is sold by now. The one with scope has a very rare real ZF4 with even rarer, highly professionally reproduced Krieghoff mount rings made of steel.

  16. Could be an old ares l85, iirc they made them around that time. it’s not ics, the foregrip is wrong.

  17. No permit or licence required. However it’s ‘realistic’ and as a seller you are responsible under the VCRA to be reasonably confident that the buyer is over 18 and intends to use it for one of the permitted activities. The UKARA is a membership scheme that is the most commonly recognised route for a buyer to show their ‘defence’

  18. Hey all, been a while since I’ve frequented this forum. Glad to see not much has changed! Havent managed to play in over 18months now, so I am thinning the collection. I have listed the RIFs I need to sell, will get the gear up over the next few weeks. Would appreciate any feedback if I have made a mistake or over estimated value on any of my listings! Hope you all had a Great Christmas, and wish you all a Happy new year!

I do love GBBRs 🙂 Details of the M4 builds can be found in the MWS mega thread... Same AK as above, but with suppressor and 5.56/.223-style mag...

  22. Remington 1875 Frontier Army Remingtons failed (but by many accounts better) attempt to cash in on the colt single action army. Started life as a 177 airgun. A few bits machined and it's now an airsoft gun with a fixed hop. I *think* it's the only airsoft one so far. Ideally I'd like to change the colour and hydrodip the grips wood or paint them more like bone. But this is now my primary airsoft "weapon".

  24. Whelp, I've taken my first step and put in stock notifications for when the real wood Kar98K springer becomes available again. I figure I'll set it up for ~350fps/1.14j and build a 352nd Infaterie Division inspired kit around it. I realise the power range puts me at a disadvantage as the ranges close but I figure it keeps it CQB friendly should it ever get used indoors or descend to CQB ranges. @MSSW Rune - Excellent photos and brilliant kit.
