Gotta respect the commitment, Cavninja. Shame it's gone into what is ultimately a spiffy version of what at least 60% of UK airsofters are wearing & carrying. Just imagine how individual you could have been with a Modern Russian loadout... there are so many patterns of camo and uniform cut that you could be pretty certain to be the only one in the UK...4 points -

There are lots of Airsoft online shops selling G&G rifles. Sometimes its good to buy locally for a few quid extra as you can go back to them if there are any problems. Pistols are of questionable use in a game but if you just want one, then have a look at the WE range or the TOKYO MARUI, the latter being better, dearer but plastic.3 points

Very comfy, I've only done a couple of CQB skirmishes with them so far, so not really put them through their full paces. I had planned some decent hill walking between Christmas and New Year, but i think it'd be a bit daft given the current weather conditions. I've used Salomon boots for years and worn them in some atrocious conditions and they've always served me well, very comfortable and very water proof.2 points -
Buying my first gun(s)
Bottledtorment and one other reacted to Ian_Gere for a topic
I just want to point out that there are many other guns than AR-15 variants and, as much as you may see yourself with nothing else, before you buy you should at least have a feel of a few different assault rifles and an SMG or two. To see how the layout of the controls suit you and what it's like to reload I would suggest trying any old M4, or indeed the CM18 MOD1, an AK-47 or 74, a G36C or better a KV, an MP5 SD5/6 if poss or A4 for the classic style, an MP7, and a bullpup - an L85A2, FAMAS, TAR-21, or Chinese Type 97. There are loads of things which will prove more useful for skirmishing than a pistol. Spare mags, something to carry them in, spare battery, kneepads, better boots &/or socks, alternative eyepro, gloves, BFG and pouch / pouch for MK5 pyros...2 points -

I have that very same gun exelent range, good ROF, plenty of rail space. never let me down, and its had some 36000+ bb's through it (and it will be 2 in may ). The only thing i have done to the gun, is clean the barrel and charge the battery1 point -
Cheers ian, I will be upgrading both M4's as I go along but for now I'll do a bit greasing and swap to a tbb aswell1 point

That's great news... I've been on the same boots myself for 4 years, mainly because I bought a pair for an expedition and by the time I was done with the 3 months, they were completely dead. I then got a free pair of the same the second time around, because the shop I bought them from said they were just poorly made... But I have the same problem happening again - sole coming off and absolutely NO waterproof quality at all. I've been hoping for a good pair that will keep my feet dry and it sounds like I've found them!1 point -
That's the same stuff I use on the prop shafts in my fast electric boats ian Really do appreciate your replys guys, I think it goes towards the drop in FPS1 point

On a side note regarding a side arm. I bought a WE M9 and its a great little gun, Its fun to use in CQB and when I run out of Ammo. However I think if I had a choice to go back, I would have spent the money on buying some mid-caps and a battle belt1 point

Not suggesting you buy this one I've linked to, but for reference, get a cheapo airsoft copy of the PASGT helmet (about 15 quid off ebay) and paint it up like this one: http://www.vestguard.co.uk/helmets/press-helmet.htm Cheap M88 PASGT here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M88-SWAT-Tactical-Military-Army-PASGT-Helmet-Airsoft-Painball-Skull-Mask-Set-/141453048269?pt=UK_Collectables_Militaria_LE&var=&hash=item20ef4239cd Or if you prefer, here's a UN Blue cover for PASGT M88 helmet: http://www.asmc.de/en/Clothing/Headwear/Miscellaneous/Helmets-accessories/Helmet-cover-UN-blue-p.html Then stick these on your flak vest: http://www.globalmilitarysupplies.co.uk/products/Embroidered-%27PRESS%27-badges-Velcro-backed-for-Body-Armour.html or just on something like this if you want a cheap option: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mens-Regatta-Bodywarmers-Tobias-Blue-/371171999298?pt=UK_Men_s_Activewear&var=640322104445&hash=item566b933e421 point

Building a Noveske
Monty reacted to CaptainDumbass for a topic
I mean this in the nicest and most helpful way possible mate, if youre on a fairly tight budget and cant splash out LOADS like some do to make these builds, i think youre being a tiny bit *too picky*. In all honesty does it matter if its all 100% identical to the real thing or the one in the video game or not??? Other than visually what difference will it make? For a starter rifle especially you want to concentrate on how well it performs in the environment you most commonly play and do well in! People honestly dont really care about how other guns look out in the feild, its only on the forums where we like to show them off do people pay close attention! You mentioned you want to upgrade it to shoot 25+ rps? Like simon said the amoeba's are very similar to the gun you like, the things amoebas arent great for are their gearboxes so surely if youre upgrading it that wont matter? All you need to do is accept its not 100% identical to the noveske but still its a damm lot closer than a combat machine! I also think the build quality on them will be slightly better than a combat machine and they're more unique than a standard AR looking thing, you wanted unique correct??? *EDIT* Ive just looked around online and ive built a gun around the build you want and visually its very close looking to what you want and wont cost you loads, giving you money to then spend on gearbox upgrades and a decent battery! (9.9v LiFePO4 battery and a pico ssr2 mosfet is what i would extremely recomend) Im sending you all the links in a PM now.1 point -
Welcome aboard. You can get stuff to protect funsight optics, there are ones specific to airsoft which mount on your weapon in front of optical sights to prevent them being smashed by a BB (it does happen, seen Tac Lights get shot out a few times in CQB). But for a camera, unless you chose to adapt one of those, then I'd go for something like this for a quid: http://www.cutplasticsheeting.co.uk/clear-acrylic-sheeting/clear-polycarbonate-sheeting.html That's 3mm thick optically clear polycarbonate with 90 percent+ light transmission, so you can just open up the aperture another ten percent to counteract that minimal light loss, or go for a faster ISO setting. All you then need to do is put your lens over the sheet, draw around it with a waterfast pen to mark it out, then cut out the shape with a Dremel or similar. You can fix it on the end of your lens with black pvc electrical tape, which makes it easy to remove if you need to clean it. If it does take a hit and gets marked, just make another one with what you've got left of the sheet. Should get four of them out of an A5 sheet if it's a typical SLR lens size, or it would be enough to do your standard lens, a telephoto and a wide angle or whatever. Everything should still fit in your cases okay since the size increase is minimal, as is the weight increase.1 point

The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Chock for a topic
The order above for that AKS74U and the mags totaled 1.917 including postage and packing, but if you paste that into a currency converter of the kind you get by typing 'Czech to sterling' into Google, it comes up with a price of five pence, which is clearly not correct, and that is because the decimal point in their website pricing screws things up. What you have to do is remove all punctuation from the price, i.e. '1917', which gives you £53.99, which was the price I paid for that gun, plus those mags including P&P (think the gun was about 23 quid if I recall correctly). So yes, it is inexpensive to buy stuff from there, and in fact it was literally the only place in the world that I could find which stocked UHC AKS74U mags, even AEGCartAsia doesn't carry them, which is why I ordered from Bohemia, I threw the gun in on the order to test if it would make it here ok since it was only cheap and makes a nice wall hanger. To compare pricing for example, I bought an SRC Gas Blowback AKS74U from Airsoft World on Black Friday for the special offer price of £149 (it usually costing around £300 in the UK), but you can get the same SRC AKS74U from Bohemia Airsoft for £128.88 right now. The only concern would be that you'd have to ensure a gas blowback gun was being couriered by a company that allows them to be carried, which of course was not an issue with the above AKS74U on that order from Bohemia, as that one isn't a GBB, in fact it isn't even an AEG, its a springer although it takes the same mags as my AEG UHC AKS74U so the mag it came with was a useful addition. Nevertheless, because it is a RIF (being black/wood coloured), I did make sure they put my UKARA number on the package, but it got here to Blighty no bother at all, took about three days in total I think.1 point -
Thanks Ian. I've gone with a £16 clone T6 off ebay for now as I cannot yet make up my mind on the branded torches. Went for one without all the frills, not a fan of 5+ mode torches. Will see how I get on with it and decide if a proper tactical torch is really needed.1 point

Tonight I lost a very special friend and I just want to write something soppy. We had some wonderful moments in our short time together. I still remember when I first seen you. You looked beautiful all in black. When I finally got you home and got inside your smooth box I could hardly contain my excitement. The joy you brought me when times were hard will never be forgotten at times. I know I neglected you at times and now I wish I could go back and fix that. I know some of my friends never liked you but I always did. You were always happy when I came in the room spring to life giving a happy tune. Tonight I lost you and now your going on one last trip to the Czech Republic I will always remember you as the one.1 point

Meant to post these earlier in the week,. (same post as in the "what have you just bought" thread) Here's a few pics of my new G&G UMG- my first RIF- which I took on 7/12/14 at The Fortress in Fife The G&G UMG, with my VIPER quick release single point sling fitted. I was running it with a WE 7.2v LiPo and the G&G 530 round High Cap magazine. ROF was between 19-23 RPS (depending on battery charge). Mine chronoed at 300FPS (with an 8.4v NiMH) and 320FPS (the 7.4v LiPo) out of the box. I haven't got around to fitting the included side rails yet (mainly because I picked up the gun on that game day and didn't have time to) __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Me holding it before a game started. Didn't have my usual CQB gear on (a black hoodie with Mil-Tec red cam trousers). Didn't have an assault vest on either because I only had the one mag, and pyro can easily be kept in my trouser pockets1 point
