I guess it depends on what "look" you want to go for and how much time/effort/money you want to expend. There are some fantastically detailed and probably quite time consuming and pricey camo schemes, and they're very impressive, but I wanted a realistic look and so I tried to go for a spray camo that would be applied by a unit on operations. 4 different colours of krylon ans some leave to mask and about an hour in the garden left me with this. For a sniper weapon, how you "scrim" it is far more important, Monty makes a very good point, quick and simple, Good luck!3 points -

Green gas is propane so using propane will save you some money straight off. It's natural, gas's pressure is temperature dependant so as the weather changes etc the power output will change.2 points

To be honest you're young and have just started airsoft, you've got plenty of time left! You'd likely be better off with getting a better aeg etc first- your enthusiasm is good don't get me wrong, but if you go out and spend what will end up being thousands having only played for 6 months then you'll have nothing left to look forward to. You don't need to buy the best and most expensive stuff to have a good time.2 points

I know what you're saying, but there's no introduction as to who he is or anything just BOOM - first post, blind link. It's bad netiquette and in my eyes no different than the smug faced twats that rock up at my door "on behalf of" nPower trying to make out I'm some kind of loser for not wanting to switch to them. Also - call me pedantic but any shop that would represent itself with a poorly worded, poorly spelled post like that probably wouldn't get my business. All about appearing professional, see.2 points -
Brilliant.... thats exactly what I want. Cheers boys, Dan its looks awesome, I want a more woodland effect but thats pretty much what I wana do As soon as I have my gun and attachments I will grab some paint and let you all know how it goes2 points

The trick with the opposite sex is training. Positive reinforcement works well 'Oi sweetcheeks, I'm buying another gun' If she tells you to f**k off, spray her with a water bottle and tell her again. She'll either kick you in the nuts (repeat the water bottle once you've stopped throwing up), or she'll kick you in the nuts till you feel bad enough you buy the gun anyway whatever she says (WARNING: BUYING THE GUN ANYWAY MAY LEAD TO BEING KICKED IN THE NUTS).2 points -

They're not my guns I hasten to add. Mine would have more skulls. And boobs. I did paint them though. Shotgun extension tube for a Berretta 12 bore and a mock suppressor/barrel shroud on a S&W .223 Good friend of mine does practical shooting competitions and these are his guns.1 point

Improving T4-18 accuracy
team flex reacted to BrightCandle for a topic
In the end I decided while I had the gun open to try a G hop using a prometheus inner and outer bucking. I didn't do anything else with it, I didn't open the gearbox although I do have a replacement 110 spring for it at some point in the future but I want to test each part individually. I have just done a chrono and FPS is at 305 with .2g blasters. Its not the 315-320 it came out of the box but its also not varying very much at all, the lowest I saw was 303 and the highest was 306, so its really consistent again as well as only a little below its out of the box performance. The groupings on paper at 10m with 0.2g's are down to 1 inch horizontally again, but vertically its less than 1cm. The 0.28g BB drops the grouping further and I am pretty certain I am seeing my limits in those and not the guns, its less than 1cm and its about the sort of groupings I get with a 22 olympic class rifle off the block. I'll try it out this Saturday at TWA and I'll see how the g hop performs. I am hoping based on this initial accuracy and zeroing in that the gun is now going to shoot a lot more like it ought to and I might finally be impressed with it again. Its funny my other G&G also needed work to its hop up unit as well.1 point -
What would you like to see from a tech service?
Monty reacted to Sitting Duck for a topic
Honest straight up advice is the top priority...... If something is that shagged then would it be worth it for a repair, or better replace so to speak If something wasn't worth the work involved then tell the customer straight from the start If something is perhaps beyond your skill level - not saying it is but if it was then say so With stuff like warranty n such yes you can/should offer it on all YOUR work but if you recomend that the bearings be replaced and customer decides against it then if/when it all goes tits up what do you do: it was fine before you touched it - they say but the bearings were wanked m8 i tried to tell you that but you said no well your the expert you should of changed them - I'm just a noobish kid Jeez - you can see the bollock ache anybody who offers their service, plus can you make my JBBG into a DMR - ergh I might be magic but I ain't a fvcking magician m8 All I can say is be honest n truthful with everyone - even the ar$ehole ones, your quality of work will eventually speak for itself and throw in some honesty/integrity and fair price n advice etc..... Then you will be fine - answering emails/txts/messages but hopefully not too many spoonfeeding answer every possible fvckwit question there is coz they are so thick or can't be ar$ed to look up yup I do other stuff and is a right pain sometimes, wonder why ya bother but in general you probably enjoy all of it and seeing something run real sweet again, and if you do everything as best as you can than just slap it back together - then that to me is a proper level of service. (too many people just wanna do the main bit n chuck it back together quickly) best of luck1 point -

If you buy the Fusion Engine from France and everything else from the UK, then that'll be the cheapest way to work it. You're looking at about £700 absolute bare minimum though. I have 7 mates with P*s, none of them have spent less than that, even Joe who put it in a Combat Machine as a "fuck you" to all the people who say they're bad lol.1 point -

It was the assumption that life is that kind Also - where did you get the 25% from? Was it an assumption on VAT/duty? There's online calculators that will let you know exactly what you'd be paying. You also forgot to add the value of the insurance to the import duty cost calculation and there's no mention of brokerage fees either.1 point

That's the one I'm after, not too keen on the RIS rails on it though so will probably fit the G&P Navy Handgaurd with the torch in and add a 3-point sling. It's not that I dislike M4s and there is obviously a reason for so many people favouring them, but I prefer the look of the MP5 A51 point -
Using a paintball mask

I've just got my paintball mask off eBay from a company called Paintball-Land.de and I'm really happy with it. I couldn't find anything from the usual suppliers that fit my requirements but this one is perfect, with integrated goggles, with changeable lenses, full face and back of head protection. Looks pretty mean too lol...1 point -

Actually - if it was a bricks and mortar (or indeed online) store that wanted an opinion I'd have more respect for them posting something in their own name than hiding behind an alias. People are more than happy to tell people what they really think of them online so there's no real need to hide behind a fake name "to get honest answers".1 point

National Airsoft Event
JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Airsoft-Ed for a topic
2000 people would mean they've made £170,000 from entry fees alone, that's immense. I wonder how much of that they need to actually run the event. They'll probably make that much again at least from everyone who goes as well, buying a new gun, some spare parts, some accessories, ammo/gas, repairs, or even food and drink. Mental money, wish I could host a gigantic annual airsoft event lol.1 point -
What camo.....
Mr Monkey Nuts reacted to Frosty0769 for a topic
Iirc when I was in the signals, was just after the soldier 95 clothing was brought in. Up until then the olive green light weight trousers were your normal say to day work wear. And you would change your top according to the season e.g. shirt sleave order in the summer or jumper or jacket and norgie in the winter. The DPM we had was quite thick and heavy and we would only really wear it on exercise or guard duty. Also a point of note was when it was brand new it was shiny as it had a anti infa red film on it that was of no use as it washed out on the first wash. When the 95 kit came out it was a complete revamp and for the time and seemed really modern as we were no longer wearing the boots introduced in the 50's that had a wooden block in the heal to sound nice when marching. They changed the DPM as well at that time and brought in the lightweight version and we got issued shirts that were DPM as well as our existing olive ones. So we would still wear the olive trousers for some tasks such as PT or drill and change to DPM for others. The soldier 95 kit moved the insignia from the epalete on the shoulder and arms to the middle of the chest so it was harder for the enemy to see. It also made it harder for us to see as they would bo**ock us for not saluting officers or saluting NCO's. This was from lessons learned in the former Yugoslavia. The new MTP was introduced around 05 to counter the problems they were having in Helmand Province. The DPM was too dark for the open areas in the desert and the Desert DPM was too bright for the jungle / Tropical areas around the Helmand River. I like MTP. It is a much brighter kit and not as gloomy as DPM and does look a lot better, but DPM is the perfect base for camo in northern Europe. With some well placed foliage you can make yourself almost invisible if you want to.1 point -

I fucking hate Nottingham. Two reasons; 1, as you stated, the busses don't give change. Nor do they tell you that until you drop 2 bastard quid into one and then stand there looking expectant for a good 40 seconds or more before the driver thinks to say, "Oh, yeah, you don't get change" Well thanks for that, you massive cock. 2, last time I went there, I got dumped, after spending £19 to get there on the train Shit place, full of nobs and gay bendy busses. All 100% factual information, obviously.1 point
