Quality of gear/looking the part does not make you a good airsofter. Playing hard and playing fair make you good. Can the hate. I would however agree with everyone that you will find more support on international/US forums. ArniesAirsoft have a strong US membership so I'd recommend you try there... I was going to close this to avoid the inevitable 'UK site u n00b' posts that are sure to follow, however I'd be interested to know, you mention using airsoft to bring your community together, specifically younger group, what sort of things did you have in mind? Here in the UK, most people are like 'DERP. GUNS R BAD CUZ DEY KILL PPL. BANBANBANBANBANBAN' so if you have any ideas that could be applied over here that would be interesting!3 points

How do you choose a loadout?

How do you choose a loadout?
CaptainSwoop and one other reacted to Lozart for a topic
I don't do the whole "replica" loadout thing so mine's more what works (for me at least) - Coyote tan BDU trousers (because they have plenty of pockets and double reinforced seat and knees plus the have plenty of room to move about) a UBACS shirt for the wicking body (for the sweating) and heavier sleeves (for the protection). Tan baseball cap and boots to finish off. Start with what works and go from there really.2 points -
How do you choose a loadout?
Airsoft_Mr B reacted to totoyeahwhat123 for a topic
Well how do you? I know there are endless possibilities to clothes, vests, pouches you name it. It's hard to choose. You may say it's all up to me, and I know that. But if I'm looking for a tan/desert loadout, what should I get? Would be cool for it to look realistic. Maybe not exactly the same, but you milsim players know what I'm on about Kinda tired of running in everyday clothes with a vest on. So if you could help what would be needed. And how much the final price may be.1 point -
British mk6 helmet reproduction
Airsoft_Mr B reacted to ronin677 for a topic
At Skirmish I plan to stick with what I've known all my adult life and stay with a standard British army loadout. The only thing that I really don't want to lug about is my helmet. With this in mind I plan this weekend to take a mold of it and produce a fibreglass copy of the thing. It probably won't look pretty but once I've transferred the straps and cover I'm hoping the shape will look ok. A little bit of padding front and back and jobs a good 'un I'll let you all know how it goes watch this space1 point -

Accumulating some Tiger Stripe
Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Happy for a topic
Personally I'd go for the propper since it saves you a bit and both look to be near enough the same quality (from reading the descriptions/looking at photos). £7 is very low postage from the US though. I'd double check if it includes any customs charges you may incur (some sellers do this through a third party).1 point -
My loadouts are a result of guns I want. I bought a cheap sten gun so went for ww2 British airbourne. I decided it was a bit warm dressed like that so decided to do an Aussie loadout as that would enable me to use jungle green or Khaki drill gear for the summer and out of the 2 Rifle options the SMLE appealed more than the No4 that the british used later in the war. Mainly though, I found an Aussie jacket and hat and they look so unbelievably cool. I also love WW2 history so I have a lot of fun researching the loadouts. Think about your favourite war film or book for inspiration.1 point

How do you choose a loadout?
Caliber reacted to Sitting Duck for a topic
Go nuts and do the Darth Vader Loadout - crap at long range but lethal light-sabre kills come to think of it - mayvbe they should do a Star Wars theme skirmish... feckin awsome - rebels vs stormtroopers... Actually bet the yanks already have this for jedi airsofters Deffo seen lots of chubby 10-12yr olds that could easily pass as yoda I reckon1 point -

I constantly have several loadout ideas at once. I like to look a camo that isn't so common, but which actually works well for your environment. Everyone runs around in MTP nowadays.1 point -

I understand now, many thanks for all your help. I desire a high rate of fire no longer since all your help in explaining it actually wears your gearbox even more. I'll go by what I've learnt, maybe get a high torgue motor, 7.4 LiPo, and deans connectors and leave it? I do apologise for my lack of technical knowledge. You've all certainly helped me fully understand that I don't need to have a £900 maxed out gun to be better than everyone else's. I'm glad I joined this forum into a community with so many great guys.1 point

It won't do much, though it'll make it sound muffled for the person on the receiving end. Shimming it correctly and a good high torque motor will make it much quieter.1 point

would these be any good (cheap bb pellets)
team flex reacted to jcheeseright for a topic
They break down in soil, they need bacteria. Advertised to take a couple of years to break down completely. Best bio BBs are green devil, but they're not cheap. Madbull are supposed to be very good but I haven't used them myself.1 point -
Just to let you know the Americans have posters up reminding them not to rape! RAPE! The most vicious poster I ever saw on a British base was reminding people to wash up after themselves. If I was to hedge a guess I'd say it was more likely an inside job.1 point

GUn range for £300-£400
Airsoft_Mr B reacted to TacMaster for a topic
I don't want to sound too disrespectful, Flex, but you don't need another gun for a while- and you definitely don't need to spend £300-£400 on one until you get a UKARA or similar registration. Focus on accumulating kit such as: A decent pair of boots Facial protection Magazines and batteries for your existing gun A chest rig/plate carrier/assault vest/belt kit to carry mags, BBs, batteries etc A hydration system such as a knockoff camelback or a decent water bottle A pair of sturdy combat gloves? A set of proper tactical clothing that will last, such as Propper, 5.11 and others Maybe further down the line a sidearm, holster and mags for it? Maybe look at GBBRs later on? It's not just about 'not minding' maintenance on them, you also have to have the capability and determination (as well as a steady supply of funds) to keep maintaining one.1 point -

Dan_W reacted to Black Death for a topic
Im liking the new releases. I'm 100% grabbing the breacher! I've been wanting the m870 for cqb games but I don't like large stock. I've been trying to think up a way to modify it but with the gas tank in the stock there was no way to achieve such. AND THEN they go mention the breacher! Happy f*cking days!!! Deffo top of the birthday list. I've already squared the money for this with a retailer! It's just a case now of WHEN not if When the HK417D comes out I will avoid it like the plague. I don't wanna see pics or vids or bump into it at a skirmish because of I do.... ... I will end up buying one! It's like shown crack to coke heads. This just ain't fair1 point -
