The second most expensive thing you buy should be your eye protection. Don't cheap out on it, cheap lenses will fog and be generally unpleasant to wear, especially if you're full face! Get a decent set of mil spec goggles and one of the sansei style full face masks you linked earlier. Remove the lower half of the sansei mask and cable tie it to the goggles. Voila, instant full face protection that you can rely on 100% to stop a BB and will be more resistant to fogging.3 points -
Morrisons Supermarket Selling Imitation Firearms!

For any future articles I write I'll be using this guide:3 points -
Some of you know how passionate I am about the VCRA, so I was shocked to find these in one of their stores today: I've already prepared this news story for publication in the Daily Mail: Morrisons Super Black Market - by Victorya Ukipy The well known UK supermarket 'Morrisons' has introduced a new line: deadly firearms for children. For just £3 our reporter was able to purchase these two replica firearms. The guns are exact models of the powerful Glock 19mm that is used by police armed response teams and the MP5 assault rifle machine gun that was famously used by Osama bin Laden. Most shockingly of all our reporter was not even asked for a UKARA license to purchase these guns, which is a legal requirement in the UK. Outside he asked one of the Morrisons employees to explain how this was the case, however the employee failed to answer questions such as: 'don't you think there's a risk that kids might fill these with acid and shoot each other? Or that they might fill them with petrol and then fire them into the engines of cars that are only supposed to be filled with diesel?' The employee's comment was simply: "I don't know mate, I just get paid to push the trolleys." Well, as our investigation has shown, that's not all they're pushing. They're also pushing death on our kids. They may also have something to do with the rise in illegal immigration. Our investigation continues.2 points

Personally I would have taken it. The whole reason I got into airsoft rather than paintball is the realisim. Realistic weapons, realistic scenarios, the gear and tactics we try to emulate. In real life guns don't run on batteries or vent gas when it's cold I know other people play for different reasons so really both sides have a point.2 points -

I wouldn't see anyone complaining over it. The most it will do is make it under limit by a couple percent, however all of the tone would most likely be visible anyway. There's not much chance the police would take interest anyway, as long as you don't go waving it around in the open.2 points -

I love seeing threads like this. People being genuinely honourable in this our game of honour. I personally don't put much stead in the bang kill rule, I think it's a cop-out and I'd rather everyone be prepared to take a few nasty dings every now and again; especially when AEG FPS limits and general safety rules mean you should be adequately protected from lasting harm anyway. On the one hand you probably should have taken the hit to be truly sporting - as people have said, if he totally had you then it was his good courtesy that got him killed, which sucks for him.. BUT: Snipers have MEDs. Even on a no-bang-kill site, airsoft snipers don't get the luxury of playing doctor ('Injecting' you). If the man plays sniper - and clearly knows his MEDS hence this situation - then he should also know he needs a pistol or such for CQC work. What happened here is a learning experience for him, he likely has gone from thinking 'I might need a secondary at some point', to KNOWING 'if I had a secondary, I wouldn't have died there.' You are likely the catalyst for his becoming a better player. Maybe next time he'll pistol you and you'll never get the chance to wonder this.2 points -

I've seen varying opinions on this. Some people say it makes you an official tit. Others only go as far as to say it's pointless. I say if it ups your game, screw everyone else. Everyone else sucks. Try it and see what happens! You can get it for a few quid on ebay so gotta be worth a go?1 point

For the price they seem reasonable enough. I think JT make masks for paintball so it should be strong enough for airsoft sites to a degree. CQB settings at least should be fine but I would be more weary at games that allow snipers (running ~500 fps at full tilt). Off topic: missed you pointing out no "skull" style masks. My bad haha1 point

I have the ASG version of the Mk23 - surprisingly fun bit of kit even if it's a NBB. Just a pain finding a holster big enough. For GBB pistols I would go against the grain and say to get a KWA if you can - especially one with the NS2 gas system. Very efficient and don't need the slide upgrading to take green gas like TM pistols do.1 point

Thought on Bunker 51 & The Mall, please?
jeffery7466 reacted to dapprman for a topic
I did The Mall in February as part of a meet up for another forum. It was well marshalled, meaning it was hard for people to get away with not taking their hits (I believe two people were asked to leave in the afternoon, one of whom was given a permanent ban). The briefings were clear, well explained, but long. The games were about 20 minutes each, 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon, so actual game play for the day was not the greatest. Added to this there's always a fair walk back to the safe zone, so if, like me, you're using gas guns, you struggle to refill and reload in time. The site itself is in very good condition, but there were too many choke points, meaning play became rather static - especially with the extra safety rules over grenades (can't throw above knee height, fine for timed grenades you can roll along, not particularly useful for impact ones). As a whole, despite what I've written above, I actually enjoyed the day, and would do The Mall again, but it's the sort of place I could only do one to four times a year, no more. Oh and as to food - they no longer give free lunch (they were stopped from doing it apparently) - but the price is/was not changed.1 point -
Theoretically it would matter, since the 'acid test,' so to speak, in defining whether it is a RIF is whether determining whether it was a real gun or an airsoft gun would require someone to closely inspect the gun itself (the assumption being that if it was all bright orange and someone saw you with it they would 'know' it was a non-lethal toy). If adding sights, scopes, torches, etc. adds to its 'realness' then they add to its 'RIFness.' But this is a ridiculous 'test' since nobody walking down the street with an M4 is going to be ignored if the police officer who turns up can see that the M4 is "principally" orange! Anyway, back to the point. It doesn't matter to you (if you are an airsofter) whether it is 51% unrealistically coloured or not since it is not illegal for you to manufacture or own a RIF. If anyone says: "where did you get that?" Tell them it's none of their business. If an officer of the law asks, then tell them where you got it since you've done nothing for which you are not legally 'covered.' So stick all the accessories or whatever you want onto your gun since, as an airsofter who can prove he is an airsofter if required to do so in order to create a defence against prosecution, you are entitled to do what you want with it. As others have said, just don't be a dick with it and nobody will ever know or care.1 point

Pissarro reacted to Airsoft_Mr B for a topic
I don't think accessories would really matter, as long as the gun itself is two-tone. Like Yuriski said, there's no reason for the police or anyone to be scrutinizing it anyway as long as you aren't displaying it in public and stuff like that.1 point -
Condor are average, they're unlikely to fall apart from airsoft (although stories have surfaced form the US of that happening) but for the price you can get better.. they're probably better than Bulle but not as good as WAS Flyye are probably one of the best clone gear makes out there.. I've had a fair bit and hold up incredibly well. As a testament I was talking to a guy from the SANDF who has just gotten back from the Congo and he said that Flyye is by far the most popular brand for private purchase, even being used by the Recces (SA SF) Out of those two I would easily go with Flyye!1 point

I agree with some of that but certainly not all of it. I agreethat the tone of the day can be affected by the make-up of punters but that's true of anywhere. The review is also over a year old, things have changed, New games added etc. Yes the games are short but you're not creeping about in bushes, you're running up and down a lot of stairs and poking around in the dark, after a full day of it you'll feel it!Try it out, you might just enjoy it. If you do decide to come to the mall let us know and we can meet up if I'm there.1 point -

If you're 18+ and have a UKARA defence I would say you're absolutely fine to go ahead and paint it. If not, then I would be safe and use camouflage tape to cover up the brightly coloured parts. As long as you only put it on when you get to a site and remove it before you leave then it is okay.1 point -

Gas inefficient Kimber Warrior GBB
microbug reacted to Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies for a topic
O ring Piston heads help, much better instead of the traditional cup ones. Aluminum slides are lighter than zinc ones so it will help too. I'd personally get a plastic slide, metal 1911s have bad efficiency unless they are co2. You can try use KJW co2 1911 mags but chances are the gun will grenade itself since WE(The OEM,estimating from the website) like to make thing out cheese. Try oil up the slide a bit, using a little bit of white lithium grease. Then use some Pure silicone oil (Preferably not spray type) on the Piston head cup. BTW those kimbers are based on the standard 1911 and not the hicapa. Hicapas have massive mags and are often gas efficient, even with metal slides, internals are a bit different too.1 point -
Help on how to get better accuracy
Airsoft_Mr B reacted to Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies for a topic
Yes,it will mess with airflow. You will need to recrown the barrel. This video is a good guide. The tool is called a Reamer. Also check out Lonex/ASG ultimate barrels. I've been impressed by the quality. You might be able to find a 292mm barrel as well. PDi barrels, especially tightbores are second to none in quality and their distributor,Xfire,do custom lengths for 10$,using a precision lathe and all that stuff. Personally I would not cut a barrel on anything but a lathe,it needs to be precise to get all the best performance out of it.. Avoid madbull steel barrels for the time being, some very bad machining issues about. Wait until they get their act together. You can improve accuracy with a new hop up nub, improving the air seal, shimming the hop up unit and washing your ammo. New hop up units also help,Tokyo Marui,G&G,SHS and Lonex units are very good quality in particular. Washing BBs does have a good effect, gets all the mold release crap off of it allowing the bucking to grip it better. I'd wash the hop up bucking too, it could still have some mold release crap on it from the factory. I wash all that stuff in fairy liquid.1 point -

Battery: 8.4V 2200mAh 4/5SC NiMH Battery Pack. (3x2 + 1). Higher mAh means more shots, the rule of thumb is 1mAh used per shot. Charger: Universal charger for Airsoft battery packs. Component Shop is a brilliant Wales-based retailer and will be happy to help with any questions. Any batteries with a Mini Tamiya connector will fit an AEG gun (unless a different connector is in it, and that should be specified by the retailer) Depends where/what you buy. A set of basic CS'95 Woodland DPM combat trousers and shirt should cost under £20, a good pair of boots should cost around £50 or under (German Para boots are supposed to be good, you can get them for around £30 second hand (<- second hand is better as they'll be worn in already)) you can get old British Army Northern Ireland chest rigs for 99p off Ebay or the newer Bulle and TT stuff for costs and in places I've mentioned above. As well as those you'll want face protection (a full mask should be no more than £25) maybe a pair of combat gloves (you can get simple Viper pairs for under £10 from Ebay and various places like Military1st) extra magazines (I'd suggest buying an extra hicap first if your gun comes with 1, or saving and buying a set of midcaps which can cost £30-£50) a spare battery (17-odd, perhaps buy 2 of the ones I've linked above?) and a few bottles of BBs. Proairsoftsupplies have a sale on for 0.20g Blaster BB bottles on atm, £6.20 or something for one bottle. ^these are only rough estimates for basic stuff. If you wanted higher end stuff you'd be looking at £300 without the gun.1 point -
This. If your gun is working properly, the difference in performance between 330 and 350 should be negligible.1 point

Their night games are on the filmsim spectrum or maybe soft milsim, medic rules apply ( bleed out times are quite strict, if hit you remain in your position calling for a medic for a set length of time, normally bleed out 5 or 10 mins, then you return to your base and wait for a 4 man squad to form before returning to the game), there are ammo limits, a vague back story, teams denoted by colour typically green vs tan (with DPM and DDPM so cheap in surplus shops and colour of rigs are irrelevant so its pretty much open to anyone) rolling objectives although occasionally they have short breaks so it ends up being a series of play pause play etc. The risk of loosing your life and the penalty that is likely to incur tends to make people play smart rather than super aggressive. I find there is far less aggression and cheating. You are probably paying more money to play the game, you have probably prepared for it for a significant amount of time perfecting kit choices and fettling with kit so you are showing much more commitment to the whole concept. You will be in a smaller group than your average skirmish and everyone pretty much is in the same boat so cheating is not tolerated at all.1 point

The Air Cav are one of two of my regular sites teams I'm in the Mental Militia ( the anti team) they are probably one of the VN platoons you saw, they held heartbreak ridge all of Saturday. They basically spent the day posing in the foxholes with their VN soundtrack playing on mini speakers in the trees. Was a weird sight coming up heartbreak and seeing them smoking and listening to tunes. They are the ones in the VN style canvas tent and the huge sound system. Other loadouts seen on previous years have been: Girl in French maids outfit Man in lime green mankini (borat style) Group of suited and booted hitmen. Gimp outfit/BDSM kit was the weirdest though.1 point
