Don't sell your purchase short, Dan.  Sometimes it's the simple things that make a massive difference, right?! And this insert, as you said, really does 🤙

Ooh, every time I see an MP5K my 90s' action movie nostalgia kicks in and I want to get one!

Good haul there, pal

It is a game changer.

Thinking I'm going to have another crack at using mid caps.  Have learnt that my Odin spits out 12 bbs for every turn, which hopefully will help me lift the curse of poorly feeding mags.

One option is ammo, used to have endless midcap syndrome before switching to geoffs.

Other option is a stub of ~60mminner barrel (or similar pipe type material), drill and pin one end. Becomes a handy method of extracting a fixed number of bb's post fill

Word to the wise - the flaps in the top are quite stiff so you may end up spilling BBs when you fill it up. Try trimming them back a bit.

I was pondering those.  My fingers are too thick to hold them down whilst filling too.

Same here. I cut one of the flaps off completely.

Just had these delivered from WuggyNuggy...

Don't have my L85A2 as it's still with our local tech so I thought I'd show Dan Robinson what the elcan might look like in situ.

Saw the MP5 with Wolf Armouries for a reasonable price, so took the plunge and it arrived today 🙂

First impressions really good, amazing build quality as expected, although I'll have to wait a while to try it because I have no Tamiya wired batteries 🙄

You're better off to forget tamiya altogether and solder amass mr30 to your battery. That tamiya to mr30 cable takes up way too much space in the handguard. When you ditch your triangular one for a gucci one you're gonna have even less space to play with.

Yeah I’ve got a load of MR30 connectors on the way, I’m reluctant to swap them over on my batteries though as then I’ll be stuck being unable to use them on my other rifles, so I’ll probably just make up a different adapter.

I bought a stick battery to sacrifice just for this particular gun because I knew front wired MP5's are shit regarding battery space. I soldered it to mr30 and then I made a deans to mr30 adapter so I'm able to charge it. I ditched the tamiya to mr30 adapter straight away and even after that I have to pay attention not to snap battery cables but I put a magpul handguard on mine which offers even less space compared to the stock one.

I think that's what I'll end up doing, now the connectors have arrived though at least I'll be able to knock something up to test it with my existing batteries.
