K42 Killhouse (Crowborough, East Sussex)
AidanSWYD and 6 others reacted to Jez_Armstrong for a topic
This is a project my team has been building since may 2024, you can follow it's progress on Instagram @K42Killhouse We originally visited the site as they offered a 100m range you can book in lanes and just plink and dial in your rifle ect which was perfect for our team to just have a shoot and a catch up When the owner approached me and asked what additions he could add to the site in terms of airsoft I jokingly said "Build a killhouse" and then he said "OK" Shit, now we have to build a killhouse 😂 So since june/July 2024 we have been designing and chatting and gathering materials and on our weekends free have been building this between the 5 of us with some help from others occasionally We ran out beta test yesterday which involved Metal Ops and Titan Group who really enjoyed the day I need to add, this is Not a typical airsoft skirmish site nor is it a CQB arena, you CANNOT book a walk on spot The killhouse is a hire only facility where your team can hire it out in 3 hour slots or an all day slot to practice running drills, clearing rooms and scenarios, we say it's best to book in 10/12 people and you plan what you do with your time but we found it best to hone in your skills with your own team then the next ttine you rock up to a site you easily flow through buildings communicating with your team We also aim to also put on events in the future for companies to put on training days The costs are £150 for 3 hours for a team up to 10/12 people (£15 each) £400 for an 8 hour all day slot for a team of up to 10/12 people (£40 each) Please check out the Instagram page for build media and recent photos The site will progress, I aim to fill it with random furniture, build a kitchen, beedroms ect lv_0_20250427154537.mp47 points -

Somewhat productive day in the SkunkWorks. Started off by modifying a silencer/tracer unit, wasn't so fond of the grooves in it and decided to copy the Specter one, but with 12 smaller flutes. Before: After turning the OD down, it was put in the rotary table and flutes were cut with an 8mm ball-nosed end mill. Bit of lousy paint.. And now it looks so much better. Very happy with the result. Next up was a silencer that i bought for my MP5K-PDW. It's some specific type that i didn't realise at the time, but that didn't matter. I made an insert that'd screw on to the threaded outer barrel, but go over the 3-lug QD and sit closer to the front sight block. Turned from 38mm ally, bored to clear the 3 lugs, threaded inside, with an external male thread to fit a tracer and hex flats milled too. It's secured to the outer body with a grub screw. Finished + fitted:7 points -

Pleased you got your rifle back, but confused as to why the plod would make a ridiculous comment like that. I would reopen comms with somebody at a higher level, because you can guarantee that Mr "redacted" would do his best to backpedal & deny giving you that advice, especially if your snatchback went pear shaped in some way, which sounds likely if these criminals are adept enough to hack in to vehicles. The fact you have the conversation recorded is great, but may still not be enough to stop you getting a criminal record if you go ahead with your plans.6 points

Just so we're all on the same page, none of this adds up and everyone thinks you're talking utter bollocks, in the follow-up thread that no-one asked for, after you got locked out of the first one. In the (unlikely) event any of it's true, don't do dumb shit like keeping RIFs in your car and rolling around with them day to day. That alone should be obvious. New DMR? I'm open to suggestions
Portela_999 and 4 others reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
It's entirely up to the site(s), you'll have to look into that. Some fire control systems actually let you program in a DMR delay to limit the rate of fire. There's a significant degree of trust involved in DMRs given the minimum engagement distance, and the potential for abusing them by spamming. One of my locals just disallows them completely (everything has to either be <1.2J or bolt action), and frankly I agree with them given how hard it is to marshal DMRs. Rogerborg and 3 others reacted to Colin Allen for a topic
The police do not routinely check the career history of alleged victims of crime; that is my experience from being a victim of serious crime and from supporting people who have been victims of crime, and I checked it this evening with a serving police officer. Realistically, the only way they would know would be if you have told them at some point. So, let's say you rock up to the boot fair and demand that the stallholder returns the allegedly stolen goods; the stallholder says "Mate, I bought these from a guy I met in the pub." At that point, how are you going to prove that they are your allegedly stolen items? Do they have something distinctive about them that you can describe to the organisers before getting anywhere near the stall holder? If you have not, you are going to be out of luck.4 points -
Assuming you can prove it's yours, & the seller has enough of what was taken still in his possession to match your crime report. Even then, you're assuming he'll roll over & say something like "it's a fair cop guv, fill yer boots", or alternatively he claims he paid good money for them & tells you to do one, will you then be forced to rely on the local plod to turn up, given that they've previously blown you out apparently.4 points

Rogerborg and 3 others reacted to MistakenMexican for a topic
Just be wary, the police have a lot more time for “violent” and “real” crime than they do “non-violent” crimes like theft and shoplifting. They’ll be more inclined to arrest you and charge you with assault for laying a hand on the thief whilst retrieving your stolen goods back, than they are inclined to charge the burglars. Lots of these thieves will know how to play the system as well. They’ll make their assault and lower hanging fruit than the theft of your belongings.4 points -

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Jacob Wright and 3 others reacted to Colin Allen for a topic
Today was an invitation game day at Airsoft Plantation; 42 trusted, honest and excellent players, including some of the marshals and the site owner, were on site for the day. Oh, and so was I! As I wanted to finish setting up the ICS Masada, I had even more rifles with me than usual, much to the amusement of one of the other players, who also expressed shock that I had something that looked rather like an M4. The first game involved us (the blue team) attacking the village from the hill fort; we had infinite buddy regens after falling back 30m, while the defenders had three lives. Our objective was to set off bombs in four structures in the correct order; these being the Cock Inn, the Town Hall, the Casino and the Border Bridge. Eschewing the direct approach, I elected to swing far to the left and attack the village from the far end, so that I could hopefully strike the defenders in the flank while they battled against my colleagues. This proved to be a good plan as I was able to surprise and take out a number of them; we fought our way into the village, destroying all of the objectives after some really intense firefights. After a quick break to mag up, the game was reversed. The enemy pressed hard; again, there were some great firefights and some great play, as might be expected on an invitation-only day. The highlight of this game for me was that I shot the site owner a couple of times. Yay! The next game required the enemy, who again had infinite 30m buddy regens, having to attack the Mortar Pits from the DEA Base, secure a stretcher from the top of the tunnels and then transport a player on it to the bridge on the other side of the Mortar Pits. The stretcher required four players to move it and, if the player on it was hit, they had to be replaced by another player; we had two lives. Starting off at the front of the Mortar Pits, I engaged a number of targets as the enemy tried to push towards the tunnels; we held them up for a considerable time, although I was eventually hit by a sniper who had moved into the hill fort. Falling back to near the berm which runs down the far side of the Mortar Pits, I became involved in fighting off the attackers who were trying to reach the stretcher. We held them up for a long time, before eventually being overrun as they pushed along the berm. Being hit again, I retired to the trailer at the back of the Mortar Pits to watch the fun, which included red team players attacking each other in the mistaken belief that they were the enemy. Eventually, they got an injured player to the bridge. Luncheon was then taken, after which the stretcher game was turned around. We decided to split the team in two, with one group attacking and taking the bridge, while the rest of us secured the stretcher and transported it there. Our group pushed quite rapidly into the Mortar Pits, overcoming a strong enemy defence before being held up by accurate fire from the top deck of the bus. We eventually overcame this and I was very impressed with one of my shots, which went through a small open window and hit the player behind it. There was then a push to get the stretcher to the bridge, which was completed after a couple of changes of stretcher bearers and passengers. After this game, I left as I wanted to get home to watch Liverpool win the Premiership; fortunately, they did so, which was worth giving up some airsoft time for. As should be expected from such a day, there was some great play and generally excellent hit taking, although there were a few comments about one player. It was hard fought but also great fun and was played in an excellent spirit. Weapons used: SRC T-91 (which looks rather like an M4) ICS CXP APE ACR (Masada) Classic Army ISSC Mk22 (Because someone decided that the world needed a .22 version of the SCAR) ASG XP18 Commander (CO2)4 points -

New DMR? I'm open to suggestions
Portela_999 and 3 others reacted to Galvatron for a topic
No, single shot only. No binary triggers, no burst. One BB fired per trigger pull and release only. As Tackle said, sites may insist on either a 2-second delay between shots or for there to be only one BB in the air when you're firing. It goes against the idea of a marksman if you need to spray a target to hit them. Not only does shooting above the site limit invalidate the site's insurance and make them liable if they were to allow you to play, you could be charged for committing assault if you use an illegal airsoft weapon and injure a player.4 points -

Any gun can be finicky, but gas more so, especially with temperature changes, different power gas etc, assuming the gun itself is set up perfectly ?. Unfortunately a raven pistol isn't any kind of benchmark to judge gas guns by, well maybe the bad ones 😏. So aeg is the way to go, but then you need to consider that some sites expect a dmr to be based on a real world dmr equivalent, not just an m4a1 with a barrel extension. Also dmr fps can vary from site to site, 450/420/400/378 are all fps limits for dmrs I've seen previously. With that in mind, once you've narrowed down your choice, you'll want to make sure the contenders have a quick change spring system, it's the easiest way to alter power output at short notice. & don't forget it needs to be single shot, ideally mechanically incapable of auto fire, as most sites won't accept dmrs that have restricted fire mode set by mosfet. I'm sure someone else will tell you what best out of those you've mentioned. Good luck4 points -

So I've finally made time to learn some basic video editing (Davinci Resolve fellow nerds) & after being blown away with what you can actually do these days from the comfort of your living room I've started to unleash some unasked for & unwanted in game footage. You won't find hit markers, "elite sniper" setup shots or "cheaters exposed" here, just real, in game footage from longer more cerebral games. Sorry speedsofters, or Kicking Mustang fans this probably this isn't for you. Its more the sort of thing I'd like to see, but isn't really out there.3 points -
My AEP is in its component pieces, awaiting yet another Quixotic attempt to make it usable. As stock, they're all about 0.4J / 200fps with 0.2g, maybe a fraction more. As noted, the semi auto trigger response is poor, even when running them on lipo. The cheaper ones that come with nimh batteries have truly dreadful semi response, and given that they're only really usable in CQB due to the low energy, you'll always be at a big disadvantage in any snap-shot duel. They do work, after a fashion, but you'll always be disappointed with them.3 points

Most airsoft guns performance is really not that different and unless you by a TM (even then they fail) there is not guarantee a gun will last years or fail out the box. Other than a few brand you should avoid, there really no such thing as a beginners AEG it's just a case of how much money you are willing to risk. I'd personally go with the cyma.3 points

I don't think i'll ever rival your collection. 😂 Another quick job, added a short rail to my MP5SD silencer to attach an X400 clone. The silencer has a small grub screw to index it so i can still keep zero when i have to remove the silencer. Spare rail piece had a suitable radius cut into it to match the silencer: Small section of the ribs were cut off the handguard to fit a remote switch, which is held on with 3M VHB tape.3 points -

Legally, the gun shouldn't be capable of full auto if its fps exceeds 378+ on a .20, obviously any site worth attending would veto it as it would invalidate any kind of insurance, making them 100% liable. But some dodgy players try to secretly keep the ability to enable full auto, claiming its the only thing to remedy gearbox lockup.3 points -
Given that your choices include a gun with a carbine mag and one that's a Mk23 pistol in a body-kit, I assume that a .308/7.62mm style magazine isn't a deal breaker for you. In that case, you could just up-spring your SSR4 and restrict it to semi with a grub screw (depending on your local site(s) rules). A barrel extension and/or silencer can let you use a longer barrel, and swapping out the cylinder for an unported one is simple enough if you want to open the gearbox. If you want something new, magazine cost and availability needs to be factored in. The Vorsk only uses its own proprietary mags, and they're not cheap, nor necessarily available (PatrolBase doesn't have any long mags). The SSX303 (which is non-blowback, not blowback) takes Mk23 mags, which gives you more choice. If you want to go gas, I'd go with that over the Vorsk all day long. The East Crane (who?) and Golden Eagle will both need locking to semi, and up-springing (same as your SSR4 would). Both use proprietary low and mid caps, so again you'll need to factor in cost and availability to buy more. The Double Bell is the only AEG on that list which is actually "DMR" spec out of the box, and comes with a hi-cap magazine so there are no extra costs. I believe that mid-caps are available. I'd be looking for reasons not to get that from those 3 electrics.3 points

I think we as a community need clarification on how EXACTLY does the system work (or how its supposed to work but doesnt😏), what inter-agency communication there is, including how involved the carriers can be, & what we, or the offshore retailers can do to ensure the process is as smooth & trouble free as possible. Who here is a member of, or ideally involved in the hierarchy of any of the airsoft associations such as ukasa (might have got that acronym wrong ?) ect, maybe they can be convinced to open dialogue with ukba/hmrc/carriers to ascertain the precise process, & look at addressing what's going wrong ?. My take is it's likely lack of knowledge along the chain, retailers not labelling goods properly, & carriers/ukba/hmrc not knowing enough about airsoft & it's limitations, being blinded by the fact our kit resemble a gun, so therefore must be a gun😱3 points

As a thread diversion - he was talked to by a couple of members of staff, and allowed to continue Noting that he took ‘care’ to clarify which areas were public vs private, and then decided to entirely disregard that when the path came to an end He also opted to film, highlight and publish the access controls which aids anti ‘audit’ claims of using auditing as an excuse to conduct hostile reconnaissance. Like many if not most auditors he says he is filming for general interest because he has seen their lorries around. Why not just be honest and open that it’s for YouTube monetisation ? …. and near the end a little bit of ignorance / bigging up that a container tamper seal means that it contains ‘high value’ goods. It just means that (provided you document the tag number) that the container hasn’t been opened since the last check3 points

Still optimistic at that price, given that it's two toned, and the nimh model with anaemic performance. The RIF I wanted so bad, that when I joined these forums 20+ years ago, my username was 'Bison Hunter' 😁. I got a custom made from a TM Beta Spetsnaz but it wasn't really skirmishable. Then I quit the hoppy and came back 15 years later to find that Bizons had basically been and gone... until Patrol Base got some stock in at the same time I got a work bonus. I've had it 3 weeks and decided I wanted to remove the stock completely and cover the exposure at the back. This required an adaptor that itself required some angle grinder attention. But now with the RK-3 grip, B-13 mount (both with funky Russian language on them), and PBS-1 can, it's almost my dream RIF. In lieu of a decent Kobra sight, I have a C More sight on the way, so the nasty one on here is a placeholder. First game on Sunday and I just can't wait! 😁3 points
