Help needed - Really want to start Airsoft BUT..
Cannonfodder and one other reacted to BigAl for a topic
Right having just read the whole thread ( yawn ). 1. Forget snipers, GBB even NGRS/ ERG and get a bog stock AEG. 2. Don't spunk all your budget on the gun, you need mag, batteries/charger ( if gun includes it, bin it. Forget NIMh and go Lipo ), mask/goggles, LBE etc etc. Spend maybe 2/3 on the gun. 3. Visit your local site or sites and play a few games. Talk to regular players, we love to help newbies with advice. Some of the nicer players may let you try there gun. Try as many different types as you can. Once you know what type you like you can look at makes. Unless you particularly dislike em or really like something else an M4 is probably best choice. Also see what site uses as rentals, they generally use something very solid and reliable. 4. If you visit a site a few times this is defence sorted, if you wish you can then get this registered on the UKARA Database ( as long as your site is part of the scheme ) to aid proving your defence. 5. Try to visit a few large shops and again have a play or feel of as many different guns types as you can. Speak honestly to shop sales man and seek their advice, bare in mind of coarse they are probably gonna try and sell you something they stock. 6. When your ready to buy hopefully you'll have some knowledgeable friends buy then, take them to the shop with you. In Fact get there recommendation on good shops. 7. When you buy a gun buy the battery there as well and make sure it fits your gun before you leave the shop. Sounds obvious but, one M4 may need a different battery to another ( or any other gun ) so make sure you have the right one. 8. Buy a gun bag or slip, never carry gun uncovered n public or n a bag where the barrel or but may stick out. 9. Take you time think about it and don't rush out n by the first gun you see. At your budget you should get a good gun that will last you a good few years if you look after it. 10 Even at your budget a spring or hop up change may be a good idea, a good shop will advise you of this. IF however you gun is shooting at a legal power level this can easily be done at a later date. 11. Get out there with your new gun and enjoy yourself. Goodluck in your new hobby / financial drain.2 points -

I've bought from them a few times and they've been really good. With one order i got sent a hop chamber for a GHK and not a VFC. I sent an e-mail but got no reply, sent another a few days later and got a quick reply. By that time i'd made another order. True to their word the correct replacement was sent.2 points -

Just didn’t imagine it was a one man band running a business out of his flat, assumed it was a retail business with a few staff looking at his website. Update, heard from him, item has now been despatched, no reason given why it was 12 days since him giving me the tracking number and the item actually being posted.2 points -
JG do a g-spec as well, but I think Cyma only do a regular one so if you were looking to get a g-spec the choices are TM or JG. You can get aftermarket parts to convert a full length to g-spec length, but that's more cost. In the end, you will be swapping out pretty much all of the internals to the point where after I bought an aftermarket stock, I was able to then build a third VSR purely out of spare and extra parts I had accumulated across the other two VSR builds I'd done. Mileage varies, but if you go all out on the internals, you're probably swapping out the hop unit, rubber, nub, inner barrel, cylinder, cylinder head, piston, spring guide, spring and trigger unit. And yes, that is literally every internal part that I just listed. There is definitely something to be said with just getting a tac41 instead, as those require a lot less upgrades, but if you're like me and don't really like the aesthetics, that's a problem. Also, in my opinion, a fully kitted out tac41 doesn't perform as well as a fully kitted out VSR, however it's a lot easier and cheaper in the end to get a tac41 that performs well than a VSR that performs as well, let alone exceptionally well. It's a good choice though if you like how it looks. If I was going to compare the tac41 to the VSR, I'd say pros and cons are: + better out of the box + has better air volume for heavier BBs / longer barrels (41cc vs ~35cc in a VSR) + easier to get it shooting quietly + easier to put attachments on such as bipods, lights etc. + has QD mounts for sling, which is probably better than the crappy sling mounts on the VSR + more options for external parts and better modularity + (much) higher performance floor - (slightly) lower performance ceiling - less adaptable for various filmsim or period milsim events or impression kits - heavier than a VSR (even the Lite version is heavier than a g-spec) - less options for internal parts2 points

Thanks for the details. As others have posted contact your bank or whoever you paid with and get them to issue a charge back and dont let it go till you have your money back. Don't worry about it we're a right bunch of misfits here. Strangely airsoft seems to attract those with a tism2 points -

Mr Dellski and one other reacted to Fatboy40 for a topic
Well, I think I'm safe in saying this, but I'd say the issue was 100% their fault as Bespoke Airsoft and iWholesales are both in the same building and run by the same people. Here's some evidence for you... https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/07676829 https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/11367833 ... and you can use Google Street View to see the building they're both in with all of their signage. There will be very specific reasons why James / Jaeger Precision split with them, I think there was bad blood / something in the relationship went wrong. Personally I'd go nowhere near Bespoke Airsoft since he left them.2 points -

If you're planning to gut it and slap a bunch of spangly bits in to raise the FPS then I'd say get a Cyma 701b and buy the upgrades you want. If you really want a shorter barrel and suppressor to get the same look as a G spec then there's plenty of parts out there to replicate that.1 point

Dealers claiming items in stock when then don’t actually have them.
Tommikka reacted to BenJackson for a topic
There's no problem with this as long as the business is up front with things...which admittedly isn't the case for many. I understand why it happens, it saves outlay on businesses buying stock only for it to sit in their facilities which get ever more expensive to run, losing money in the process. Many players would be happy saving some cash to wait a little longer....but transparency is key.1 point -

Three MWSs. The mk12 is semi-locked and run as a DMR, but the others are 1.14J with the fun switch and no MED. Got a carry handle + 4x repro colt scope and the relevant handguards for if I want to turn the m16a4 into an a1 (Vietnam filmsim) or a2 (90s filmsim). I don't care if the Hogue grip isn't period accurate, A2 pistol grips suck and I hate them Outside my m700s, these are the other guns I tend to use a lot. I like my gas guns!1 point

This. It’s quite hard to encourage people to post good reviews. No encouragement required for people who are disgruntled. As Bryn has shown us.1 point -
No worries about being neurospicy. A few of us are on that spectrum. Did you receive that false reference number via email or by post? If you have that paper trail, you absolutely should put that in your claim, especially when you allege they've given a false number twice - that can easily be perceived by the fraud team as a stalling tactic. While my own experiences with Bespoke Airsoft have been positive (I only buy in person or do click & collect), I've seen a lot more complaints in the past 18 months. I remember one fellow in store who'd spent a small fortune on his gun and rightfully complained about a failed repair on it when he returned to pick it up and tested it on the range.1 point

Hello. I'm 52, dress up as a space soldier, and play hide-and-seek with toy guns. What @Tackle said, just initiate a Section 75 or a debit card chargeback. Don't get into deep details. I wouldn't even mention the return, just "I bought goods, I have neither the goods nor the money, seller is not contactable." Let them tell their side. You might be surprised how quickly you get contacted by Bespoke to resolve it, but I'd stress, do not drop the case until you have working goods, or a full refund, no matter what you're promised.1 point -

When you talk to the bank the chargeback is also known as a ‘section 75’ which may help you clarify what you want to them. Appreciate you posting this, definitely a shop I won’t be buying from ever.1 point -

Your doing fine, thanks for sharing your experience with us. Don't waste any more time trying to speak to bespoke, I'm assuming you paid via debit or credit card, get on to the banks fraud department, explain the situation, including the non existent parcel force numbers & ask for a charge back. Same if you used PayPal, initiate a dispute & let it run until you've been refunded. Good luck? PS don't mention faulty GUN, call it faulty or damaged goods etc, don't want to spook whoever on the other end of the phone.1 point -

Boom arms is basically a guy running a shop out of his flat in HK. So he’s inundated with messages, emails and all the admin of running a shop. He’s only human and misses the odd email and gets a few orders wrong from time to time. in my experience, he always makes it right. I did a massive order with him last year, and he got it wrong to the tune of $300. It took him about 3 months to source the parts (as they’d all sold out by the time we agreed a resolution), but he made good on all the stuff he’d got wrong. i suspect he’s made a typo on the tracking number or he’s holding out for the last item in your order to come in stock.1 point -

I almost always use guns with MEDs, be it bolt actions or DMRs. Therefore I have a lot of really nicely upgraded pistols, because I use them a lot. I also like having a light and a suppressor on them, light for function, suppressor for tacticool-ness. It has taken me this long to finally buy a good holster, but god damn do I like it and I should've done this a long time ago. It's a Deadly Customs DC5 universal light bearing and tracer holster with an m81 woodland cordura wrap, plus both a mid-ride mount and a molle mount with quick locking systems. All in, it was about £125, but worth every penny. I run real-steel Surefire x300s on my pistols and the retention is a lot better than on the Nuprol NX300 that lives on my HK45 (that I don't really use much); HK45 with the Nuprol light fell out when I turned it upside down and gave it a shake, but when I put the Surefire on it, it stayed locked in. Holster fits all of my pistols that I tend to use and none of them are falling out with the real Surefire x300 on them, apart from the mk23 which is just too large. 1911 is quite tight as well because the slide is high, but it does fit. So that's the Hi-Capa 5.1, AAP, 1911 and p226 that all fit, as well as the HK45. All with suppressors on as well, and the AAP also has an RMR. Glad I picked up an extra quick locking system and a molle mount, because it means I can just swap it over to a different kit, or mount it on a chest rig so I can use a GBB pistol on a chest rig as a cross-draw, and the mk23 on my DTD holster on my hip if I want both stealth and a bit of firepower. Such a good investment.1 point

Used them for the first time a few weeks ago. Only a small part for one of my pistols. Cheaper to buy from them even with postage than the U.K. shops. Posted out quickly, a few days later it was leaving Taiwan, and 2 more days later I had it. So ordered another small part from them 9 days ago, same as before got a tracking number 2 days later, but this one is still not recognised by RM, emailed Boomarms 3 times, no response. So unfortunately I have had to contact PayPal and they have given me a temporary refund and have contacted Boomarms for a response. Found this very strange, in the course of a few weeks what appeared to be a good company to use is behaving badly, and according to RM a tracking number was created for the parcel but it’s never actually entered the postal system. Been getting the same message from tracking with the number they gave me.0 points
