Jacob Wright and 2 others reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
The reality is that there's a hard core of determined scammers who are determined to scam. They'll come back again and again and again, and jump through any hoop in order to get access to victims. So I'm going to be a little contrarian and suggest that - while it's great that accounts are getting squished when they're spotted - ultimately this is a caveat emptor issue. Could we add a big warning on signup, or on the first post in the classifieds?3 points -
Hey guys, This has fixed the problem. Thanks for the help.2 points

This is the likely culprit. You could take the spring out and stretch it a tad. The kick of the slide moving back when fired is probably enough to jolt the follower up to lock it back.2 points

Could be that the magazine spring has started to loose some tension.2 points

Reluctantly, selling my S&T Springfield as I've switched over to GBB rifles as this is just taking space up on the wall rack. I've owned this gun for over a year and have taken it to an outdoor skirmish once. Other than that, it has been mainly used to show off and shoot various cans in the garden. The gun has little wear on the stock, I've included a couple of pictures of that. This gun is the real wood version so I have tried to take the best care of it as I can even when it's been in storage. The noticeable wear is on the top of the bolt from general shooting. I still have the original box and will include five twenty-five-round magazines. From what I recall this gun shoots at around 360FPS on a 0.2 but I had far more joy using it on 0.28-0.32 bb's and it will hop them just fine. I was able to use it within 20 meters at my local site but yours may vary. Internally the gun is completely stock. £140 collected from Nottingham or can post for £150 using parcel force48 as the box is rather large. Any more questions about anything just drop me a message on here and get my mobile number. Thanks for reading.£150

UPS RIF Declaration for Parts
ButcherBill reacted to Amokura for a topic
After 5-weeks of waiting, it finally arrived. With all the invoices (UKARA, FPS/.J 0.20g etc), no tampering with the package, and a swift inspection by Border Customs. So as great as having the RIF be processed with no issues, it appears the waiting time may be a result of new implementations causing a queue or backlog of goods1 point -

GBB Pistol as my first Airsoft gun
theSwede reacted to RostokMcSpoons for a topic
I've heard really good things about the mk45's abilities so it's undoubtedly a great choice for a skirmisher's sidearm, but I'd argue (possibly against my own instincts) that, if you might only end up garden plinking, a more realistic metal slide pistol would serve you better. For reference I've got 3 pistols, a TM D.O.R (hi capa) which is my sidearm of choice, winter and summer. It's great. And a cheap Glock, and a cheap M93. In terms of 'personality' I'd probably choose the metal slide M93 even though it doesn't shoot in the cold! Call it a combination of 'heft' and my liking of the 93's aesthetics. (I remain on the lookout for a TM 93, as I expect it might do everything well)1 point -

Fire it 5000-10000 times or failing that polish the disconnector . Gen 5 trigger is a lot lighter and more consistent striking the valve. The 4UAD one is adjustable to so you can also remove all the take up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdYHK4qsDxA1 point -

Very true, & regarding "buyer beware", I wonder how many buyers that get scammed, primarily on here as it's probably the busiest UK forum, are the types who just sign up for the classifieds access, without reading other threads, in particular the horror stories & warnings regarding scams & sending money ?. One might argue that those are the people that bring it on themselves, & are technically the "enablers" that the scammers rely upon ?.1 point -
Buying a GBBR from japan.
Herrgh reacted to Dan Robinson for a topic
Yep - it seems to have a spike each morning... I sent WMBO a load of stirling, but of course it was my fault hte exchange rate went down and she "couldn't use it". LOL We use Wise bank so can set the rate to convert money automatically - I wonder how ambitious she has got? With all the worry about the megaquake I am assuming things will not be changed at their end for a while so hopefully the pound will continue to recover.1 point -
Despite not going back to japan for the next few years at least - i did do a cheeky order for £750 worth of yen when it was around 205.1 point

It's going back up, 191 this morning. Hopefully it'll stabilise a little bit around that rate. As long as the BOJ don't do anything crazy like raise interest rates 0.01% we should be good!1 point -
Paint Recommendations
Herrgh reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
First of all apologies for the necropost but I figured it's not worth starting a whole new thread. After my OCD got the better of me I decided I need a green holster to go with the rest if my kit and as the ammomax P99 bolsters only come in black I decided to paint mine. Unfortunately it looks like halfords have discontinued their camouflage spray paints as they're nowhere to be found on their website, so after searching Google I found this https://www.sprayster.com/product/warehouse-soiled-can-maston-camouflage-spray-paint-ultra-matt-reed-green-ral6013-400ml/ I'd never heard of the brand Maston before, but as it was on offer I decided to bite the bullet and try it out. It went on well and dries to the touch in about 10 to 15 minutes. Colourwise this looks more brown when it goes on but the green comes though as it dries. Edit: here's another pic which gives a better idea of the colour1 point -

BUA - Bomb Up Airsoft, Warrington
Matt Gordon reacted to philarm85 for a topic
Got ripped off by bomb up a while back, probably around 2017/2018, package never arrived after stating RIF had been left in a safe place when not in, there was no safe place and the policy stated for postage the item had to be signed for which never was and had proof, was told another would be sent out. A week later nothing arrived, put a post in an airsoft FB group, had one of the owners message to say they would send one out and asked if I could remove the post. I obliged and removed the post to be told they wouldn't be sending it out. So from this never used them again as after I removed the post, her attitude changed. Prior to this mind I did buy my first RIF through them, item was shown as in stock - paid for it and a day later they contacted me to say it was out of stock and would get it to me within a week. It arrived within the time stated - couldn't fault them at the time, had a few more small orders with them that was decent. Just that incident put me off. If I was in the area I probably would deal with them face to face in a shop they seem to have a good range of items, but not for orders posted. Seems to be a lack of bricks and mortar places up north where you can go, BZ is a trek even for me.1 point -

I've received my GHK gen 5 today from a fellow member on here, the cerakote alu version. It's a really nice finish on the slide and really nice to shoot. I've put the patch to good work and it's gone to live with my GHK gen 3 steel The mags are interchangeable, with the the gen 5 mags being easier to release the base plate with a fingernail lever instead of just the press in button on the gen 3 mag1 point

The KWA ERG's are very solid reliable guns that need nothing more than a Softer hop rubber to make them good to go. Having said that these are not available in the UK yet for some reason, unless you know something I don't.1 point

We definitely need some sort of filter to stop immediate access to the classifieds. This could work. Alternatively go the SomethingAwful route and charge money for Account Registration. A mere £2.50, for example, would go a long way towards heading off scamming types, and defray some of AFUK's operating costs. But that comes with the disadvantages of putting off genuine casual potential users and needing to set up some way to handle money/personal info. So I like @Enid_Puceflange's idea.1 point -

Yep a decent test ride is the plan, what is stupid is the number of dealerships that DONT have test ride bikes, about 10 years ago I considered a GS1200, nearest dealer didn't have a test bike, so I said "fine, what about that secondhand one your selling ?" Dealer replies "your not getting it, the GS is our top selling bike, we don't need to offer test rides" My reply meant I wasn't welcomed back there🤣1 point

Check my Instagram @airsoftBombs Airsoft prop BOMB or DOMINATION internal electronics.. It runs from an Arduino system and is powered by 7.4v Airsoft lipos. You are bidding on a complete and working interna l device for either a bomb or a domination game, that you will then be able to make into anything you like, I can put it into a very simple tupperware box configuration for an extra £25, but if you want something custom like mine it will be more depending on complexity. You program a 4 digit code and a time limit up to 100 hours.and hit start, the device will then count down until it fake detonates with flashing LEDs and a buzzer. If you input the correct code it will be disarmed, if you attempt the wrong code it will remove half the remaining time and increase the speed of the countdown In the pictures is my personal bomb used for Airsoft games at my local site and has now been sold but I can make one similar if that's what you want for around £150£75

So here it is, still in need of cable management and the grip needs to be installed but feeling good none the less. I aim to make this one a DMR, in as much as one can do in airsoft, and so will be doing my best to source the parts that you guys have recommended. I'll shoot it a bit first for fun and then start the upgrades as soon as possible. Next step will be paint followed by some killflashes and a fair amount of tape for the shiny bits.1 point -

Listed as used, but is effectively as-new. Only used a couple of times, no scratches or wear to report whatsoever. Includes 3 x 30-round shells and a sling. Feels surprisingly solid for a spring shotgun, nice rubberised grip as well. Listing at £30 because it is effectively new. Open to sensible offers. Collection only from Derby. Don't feel particularly confident to send a RIF by post.£30

Bringing Airsoft-forums kicking and screaming into the 21st Century I asked ChatGPT to summerise the previous 275 pages. Question for experienced users, how did it do? n00bs - take with a pinch of salt! The thread on the Airsoft Forums UK about the Tokyo Marui MWS spans numerous pages and provides extensive insights into various upgrades, performance enhancements, and common pitfalls to avoid for this popular gas blowback rifle (GBBR). ### Key Upgrades 1. **Barrel and Hop-Up Units**: - **Prometheus and PDI Barrels**: Users frequently recommend upgrading to a tight bore barrel from brands like Prometheus or PDI to improve accuracy and range. - **Maple Leaf Buckings and Hop-Up Units**: Maple Leaf hop-up rubbers and units are favored for their consistency and performance in varying weather conditions. 2. **Bolt Carrier Group (BCG)**: - **Guns Modify Enhanced BCG**: Upgrading to a Guns Modify bolt carrier is advised for enhanced durability and smoother cycling. - **Ratech Steel Bolt**: For increased longevity, especially under high-stress conditions, Ratech steel bolts are popular among experienced users. 3. **Internal Parts**: - **NPAS (Negative Pressure Air System)**: Installing an NPAS allows for easy adjustment of FPS, making the rifle versatile for different field requirements. - **Upgraded Nozzles**: Users often suggest upgrading to reinforced nozzles from brands like Angry Gun to prevent breakages under high-pressure gas use. 4. **Magazines**: - **G&P and Prowin Magazines**: These magazines are noted for their improved gas efficiency and reliability compared to the stock versions. - **Magazine Valves**: Upgrading to high-flow magazine valves can enhance the gas efficiency and consistency of shots. 5. **External Parts**: - **Handguards and Stocks**: Many users customize their MWS with Magpul or BCM handguards and stocks for better ergonomics and personal preference in aesthetics and handling. - **Rails and Mounts**: Upgrading to lightweight rail systems from brands like Daniel Defense or Geissele is common for reducing weight and adding accessories like optics and grips. ### Things to Avoid 1. **Cheap Internal Upgrades**: Avoid low-cost internal parts that promise high performance but often fail under pressure, leading to more frequent repairs and inconsistent performance. 2. **Overpowered Gas**: Using green gas or other high-powered gases can cause undue wear on internal parts if not properly upgraded to handle the increased pressure. 3. **Non-Specific Accessories**: Generic accessories that are not designed for the TM MWS can lead to poor fitment and performance issues. It’s essential to use parts specifically designed for this model to ensure compatibility and reliability. 4. **DIY Modifications**: Unless you have extensive experience, DIY modifications to the gas system or hop-up unit can lead to more harm than good. It’s recommended to use tested and reviewed upgrade kits. ### General Tips - **Regular Maintenance**: Regular cleaning and lubrication of the bolt carrier group and other moving parts are essential to maintain performance and longevity. - **Field Testing**: Always test your upgrades in a controlled environment before taking them into a game to ensure reliability and performance. - **Community Insights**: Engage with the airsoft community for advice and reviews on the latest upgrades and modifications to keep your TM MWS in top condition. For detailed discussions and personal experiences, the Airsoft Forums UK thread is an excellent resource where community members share their insights and updates on the TM MWS【6†source】【7†source】【8†source】【9†source】.1 point -
