  1. just has one of these turn and it's stupidly good for 20 quid. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006119967193.html?spm=a2g0o.order_detail.order_detail_item.3.12f7f19crZ9A2w

  2. It's mostly been covered, but I'd emphasise that you need to check the rules at the sites where you intend to play. If you haven't purchased a gun yet, and if you intend to get something M4-ish, I'd always look for a quick-change spring as a feature, ideally one that doesn't require removing the gearbox from the gun. (some) Specna Arms and Lancer Tacticals make a good argument for themselves on this basis. It's always better to come out a bit lower and need to step 5 yards closer, than to come out over and be sent home. Some people swear by stock Toyko Marui guns putting out under 0.8J. Hang on, I'll show you what I meme.

I got my E&L AK-105 up to where I'm happy with it cosmetically. Pairs nicely with some Bulgarian Frogskin.

  5. A good few hours with the dremel and it’s “almost” a perfect fit Fitted one of these to my M4 a couple of years ago and much prefer the angle for comfort. The standard 553’s grip is ok, but looks “meh” So got a MOE-K2 AK version for SIG Looks miles better imo Before: After:

  6. Magazine management is also important. Make sure you only load 40 rounds, and every time you buy one, set fire to £30.

  7. Not a stupid question at all. As above, set it up for 1J and you'll be sweet for pretty much everywhere. I'd use heavier ammo and adjust the hop for outdoors games though. Why not have two guns though?

  11. So here it is, still in need of cable management and the grip needs to be installed but feeling good none the less. I aim to make this one a DMR, in as much as one can do in airsoft, and so will be doing my best to source the parts that you guys have recommended. I'll shoot it a bit first for fun and then start the upgrades as soon as possible. Next step will be paint followed by some killflashes and a fair amount of tape for the shiny bits.

  13. Sorry for the late response. It's absolutely brilliant. I prefer it to the MWS as I can adjust the hop without opening the gun.

    THE TM MWS thread

I'm in Japan now so the time has come to join the MWS club. Mostly real gear apart from the charging handle and the can. I have built a lot of firearms but am still a bit of a noob when it comes to airsoft and so, upon seeing this wonderful thread, I binge-read a good seventy five percent of the posts while in anticipation for getting my first proper GBB rifle. Because of this, I feel like I am very well prepared to put this beast together and would like to give a big thanks to Wo1f and all the regular contributors here for all of your knowledge and advice and, by way of reciprocity, should anyone wish to know what's going on in the scene in Japan or have questions about parts and procurement etc. then please send a message. When I am off base and not lumping things around in the heat I will do my best to answer promptly.

  15. Two and a half weeks for delivery from Brownells. An extra 3-4 hours with the dremel should see it fit a pew pew it’s not made for ?

  16. @Yashy This is one of the reasons I asked previously what you thought you were missing out on by being slightly below the limit. You stand to gain more by having a faster trigger response and being able to sight an opponent more quickly than you will gain in whimsically chasing the FPS limit. In the case of my P90 that I'd upgraded with a MOSFET, the trigger response has been night and day better and let me sometimes shoot players first even when they spotted me first. My Hi-Capa is a pea shooter in terms of falling well withing the site limits but I scored a hit on an opposing player by both having a quick trigger response and being able to aim at him more quickly than he could with his AEG.

  17. The battery voltage won't do anything for the FPS. A higher voltage battery will increase the rate of fire. FPS is dependant on air seal and spring. From talking to guys at games it comes at around 330 fps and some people use an 11.1v to get the high rof but I'm not sure what voltage battery is recommended. Maybe run it on 9.6v NiMH to be safe. I'm sure someone will confirm if 11.1v lipo is good or not.

  18. It was really a self depreciating dig at myself as resident paintballer for 10 years Never played a game of airsoft myself, ran a few, and owned the precursor soft air gun kits back in the 80s (I did recently bite the bullet and bin my original M4 kit in a sad pile of parts that I pulled out of a cupboard)

  20. Personally I much prefer Gbbr but you really must know the limitations of running one. Big one is the cost, not only of the rif you are buying but also extra mags, gas etc. Maintenance is another one that’s important. I would say they aren’t as reliable as aegs. There are a few more points but once you’ve accepted the draw backs you will always have a smile on your face.

  21. I play in & out, .25's mean I'm within the limit for my CQB site while also being fine outdoors as long as it's not blowing a hoolie. As has been said, 1J's a good place to be. Set your sights up for outdoors and you'll be fine when using them indoors, yeah they'll be a smidge off, but we're talking airsoft tolerances here, your pew probably wasn't that accurate in the first place (apologies if yours does actually shoot like a LaZeR).

  22. Already ahead of you, I just didn't want to take the conversation away from the wheel issue. I'm also looking at making a new POM rotary with slightly better tolerances You're welcome

  23. For the avoidance of doubt, that's the valve on the rear of the magazine near the top. And since nothing is working anyway, I'd go ahead and press that firmly in - the mag should vent all of its gas in a way that would normally make you swear like a wounded pirate. But you'll need to check that it's working.

havent been able to get to a game with it yet. last week i was CQB, so couldnt take the 249, and this week i had another event that didnt finish until late last night, so i would have been in no fit state to attend a game today. im thinking of booking on for next weekend as well, and will be taking "the beast" for a walk.

  27. £450 for 3 "used once" RIFs that I'm sure can be bought for less than that brand new. https://www.usedairsoft.co.uk/rif-s/electric-powered/set-up_i64202 The accessories are "fluff" that lose even more resale value.
