  1. Finally got a Dragunov to use as a DMR! Been sitting waiting for it to arrive for weeks after the PSO1, SVD vest and spare mags arrived!

  2. On Sunday my dad and I took a trip out to First and Only's Anzio Camp after dropping me back off at Uni. It's something a little different for us, usually playing woodland sites and being very sneaky doing so but we decided to give it a go. On arrival we turned up to a fairly generously sized safe zone consisting of 2 old buildings and a large barn, with the usual free teas and coffees, along with a very good onsite shop. Chrono opened promptly and was run efficiently, and the FPS tested on the weight of bb you will be using. Around the safe zone where signs telling players that the safety briefing took place at 9:30, and that if you missed you, you would be briefed at 11, a great way to keep the game going despite players who insist on turning up last minute and taking ages to get ready. The brief was called promptly and was thorough without being too long. The day started out with a game based around holding the med building, with the aim of assessing the skill level on each team in order to balance them out, and a few players were switched around after this game and throughout the day in order to try and keep the teams balanced. The rest of the games where based around the yellow team having a downed pilot in a building and having to extract them, the red team having to get a bomb along with the technician to each of the "D" buildings and hold them for 5 minutes to set the bomb off (The highlight of the day for me, although I think the game would have run better if the defenders had 2 lives in each building, as the game ended with the entire yellow team defending one building), and finally a competition to hold the Pub and Med building for the longest time. It was in this last game where the issues came out for us. Firstly, quite a few members of the yellow team left as they felt that they were being hammered all day and the teams were one sided, and this also resulted in the remaining players becoming quite frustrated and tempers boiling over at times. However, to their credit, the marshals were trying to balance the teams out the whole time, even in the last game. Overall it was a not a brilliant day due to some of the issues with game design and the high tempers towards the end, but it was still better than a lot of sites and we would definitely return again. Weapons used: Me: G&G SRL build, SRC MP5 and ASG XP18, and various BFGs Dad: CA HK33 and HK53, Milbro classic 1911

  3. I started off with a WE G17 as my first pistol, it worked ok, and to be honest , it Never let me down. That left my ownership after I got bored of it, I tried the AEG (We) M17 -Sig P320 That was a real disappointment of bad designed hop unit making it unable to shoot straight, then a mildly bling Hi Cappa , just because I also now have a TM G17 , works in almost freezing conditions on 144a To the extent that I use it for sneaky test shots when marshalling Sorry to sound a fanboy, but TM all the way

  5. If I do go ahead with a TM, it'll be because of the cold weather performance from the plastic slide, so although the metal upgrade would be nice, it's not so vital. I'm sure it'd be great in the summer though, and maybe I'll be trying to spend money I don't have at that point! I am unsure about the AA R17 with the plastic slide (and the cheaper-looking plastics) because it might still be a bit of a poor performer in the cold, and therefore £70 not brilliantly spent But, as I said, I'm sure I could recover most of my outlay if I don't like or use it. Also, rather annoyingly, I bought a specific Hi-Capa retention holster for my TM, rather than the AmoMax universal that I could have tweaked to hold this as well, so there's a bit of a shortfall in my kit that might be enough to stop me buying anything! Edit: Seems patrolbase have a lot of the retention holsters on sale for discounted prices, so I could get a universal, or even a specific Glock holster and swap over... https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/swiss-arms-adaptx-level-2-adaptable-holster?pv=16886 Edit2 : Bought @cart3rlfc's G19 so I'll have a Glock to try out... if it floats my boat then I'm sure the TM will happen in the future Thanks all!

  6. A birrion Toyko Marui owners can't be wrong. (I mean, except about 0.7J being better than 1.1J) Oh, I'd stress that realistically speaking I've only put a few thousand BBs through mine, even using it as a CQB primary occasionally. This isn't a lifetime commitment recommendation, it's more of a "Hey, it actually works!" pleasant surprise.

An update from me I let @rocketdogbertbe the first Guinea pig then ordered after his update It’s journey was: Despatched 14/1/23 UK arrival / customs clearance 22/1/23 UK sorting centre 22/1/23 Local depot & delivery 23/1/23 I was out, but I received the delivery confirmation and promptly forgot about it until this afternoon Checked the status to see if it actually was confirmation or that it was on a van Found the photo, so had a peek in my glass recycling box Packaging remained fully sealed, indicating it just went through the motions at customs (perhaps with an X-ray) Unless it was a bulk delivery through customs and repackaged by the UK arm, but the timeframe points to it being a single package My box appears to differ from rockets I have an iPhone style box (so what - but it’s a nice storage box) The phone pistol, shells with integral springs, projectiles, and a ‘reloading’ press I used to collect ammunition components for someone I worked with, now I have my own reloading press 1)slot in empty shells 2) top that with the middle and slot in the projectiles 3) press on the third piece and have one failure Pop out the gun A top ‘rail’ slides back to open the chamber, the grip folds out Loading: two empty chambers insert two shells note the slide on the side, this slips the shells back & forward slightly Note the two recessed pins - they are the hammers for each chamber Shoot one - pew Shoot again - misfire shoot shoot shoot The hammers alternate Crawl on the carpet to find the second projectile Verdict - it’s not airsoft or paintball (strictly speaking with the far gone history of airsoft it’s similar to some of the predecessors I had back in the day) Its a novelty piece of fun Don’t be a dickhead and shoot someone’s eye (And for the record - mine was by courier)

  8. 'ello everyone! Just wanted to share my Resident Evil 3 U.B.C.S. / Jill Valentine-inspired airsoft loadout! I got this M4A1 originally as a Specna Arms RRA SA-E01 EDGE, which was then serviced and transformed into what you see now, by Negative Airsoft. We've got slightly upgraded internals, laser-engraved markings, and similar attachments to what was in the PS1 game (red dot sight, a bipod, and a vertical grip). Also, the Sig Sauer P226 E2 by Tokyo Marui was also fitted with the Guarder Enhanced Full Metal Body Kit as well.

Just as an update if anyone is interested, I phoned JAL last week to inquire about imports - as I'm on a two part ticket with ITM->HND with JAL and then HND->LHR with BA. BA said check with JAL as they are the check in agents, JAL said "i dunno". So they asked for details via email and spec sheets of what I would be getting, so sent them links to a NGRS MP5 and AKM GBB as examples. So now its back over to them to get back in contact in a couple days. If its a no-go, it will be a case of weighing up buying and posting vs buying in the UK without the faff factor. EDIT: JAL phoned back, confirming it's all good. They even put a note on my file saying that i may need special check in. If I don't buy anything, let them know. The only issue is them saying that I should re-check in with BA in HND. So i spoke to BA via live chat and again, they just shrugged and went "S'aight, just check in with JAL". I saved that chat, so hopefully it should be smooth sailing apart from the wife moaning, asking "Don't you already have that one?"

  10. Hello everyone, I am professional propmaker, based in Austria, with a focus on airsoft-grade items such as helmets, armor as well as gun-modifications and soon even airsoft guns built from scratch. In this thread I would like to share with you some previous work and love to hear your thoughts on each piece. Also feel free to share your own work. If you need something made, I have a few standard items from the Halo Series available and I also do costum orders. Anything is possible. First one is my ODST setup. The helmet is a glassfibre-infused polyurethane cast with an active 50mm fan, external LED light modules, face illumination, side rails, NVG mount, tactical foam inserts, adjustable chin-strap. The visor is a 2mm polycarbonate visor, which withstands up to 520 fps bolt-action shots from point-blanque. The armor is MOLLE compatible and fits most plate carriers. It is also made from glassfibre-infused polyurethane. All the best, Alex

  12. I have the metal slide Army Armament R17 and yes, it doesn't run well (or at all) on "green" pressure gas in the cold. I use it so rarely that I haven't even splurged on higher pressure gas, so I don't know if that's solvable. Other than that, mine works fine for such a cheap (in airsoft terms) toy, and there's a plastic slide version of it kicking around for way less than a TM which might be cold-weather friendly. The TM does have a much nicer trigger, but I personally don't find it £80-£100 nicer - I'm more concerned with whether BBs go downrange 9 times out of 10 than optimising ergonomics.

  13. Depends on the weather and the site. In the cold, I tend to run AEGs (although the MWS is still pretty reliable). On warm days with little wind then GBBs, but if it's windy (I'm looking at you, Imperium), then I'll take an AEG too because they simply provide more firepower. GBBs are more fun for me personally, so they're my default option, but I've always got an AEG backup in the bag.

  16. I've had the Umarex Gen 4 for a few years now. Tbh, like a lot of pistols, it's more for show, especially as I don't play CQB. I've done very little to it apart from clean it, and not even bothered fine tuning the hop to make sure BBs go straight. I do like it though. Mags are pretty expensive however. Time over again, I'd be more tempted by the TM Gen 4 as, for the price, you're paying more for the official licence with the Umarex. TMs just work.

  20. £300 plus postage for a two-tone M4, no pictures of the rifle itself and retails for less than £160. Definitely worthy of being classed as a dreamer of the week.

  21. Thanks Roger, that's £70 new by the looks of it. https://wolfarmaments.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=1179 Given the amount of skirmish use it'll actually get, it would be a logical choice. Especially as I'm sure I could punt it on for [not much less] if I still wanted the TM after I tried it. I've bought some tickets at the Airsoft Competitions site, so maybe I'll be winning a TM FNX or Glock soon anyway, because I'm always soooooo lucky in raffles and lotteries (NOT) Edit: Also bought tickets for the Cybergun Scar-PDW (which looks very nice, but is expensive) Ball 89 came out... which no-one had bought. Re-draw... Ball 88 came out. No-one had that either... I had ticket 87. Re-draw... someone else won. Bah humbug.

  22. Another disappointing outcome. Some people just don't like taking hits. Despite shooting the guy a dozen times, I could see the BB's bouncing off hit helmet, the guy (HPA player again) lights me up with some serious overkill. I called him out over his overkill as in the briefing it was stipulated to not shoot at people more than 3 times as in 3 hits max. The cheeky *ucker then said to me to *uck off home if I'm going to have a mardy. Despite me hitting him, he still proceeds to remove one of the bags from the bank (game was cash grab) so I shoot back at him over his head and the a hole shoots me in the back three times. This was the same guy that tried calling me out for not taking hits, his exact words were "Take you hits"... The guy hadn't hit me once with a shot as I could see the incoming and what hit me was a ricochet that doesn't count. It was noticed by other players that one player, I expect Mr in question was the same guy others had complained about not taking hits, one situation I was backing up another player and we both hit the same guy, I was giving suppression fire and managed to hit his elbow and the guy I was backing got him right in his shrimp. Marshalls were told and words I believe were had with the guy but it still didn't change the way the guy ignored taking hits. I got that sick of it, I left the arena early and packed my stuff and waited for my son to come out at the end. Makes me wish there was a system like Laser Quest games where if you're hit, you can't shoot back and you have to respawn before you can fire again.
