  4. True camouflage isn't solely about the pattern you're wearing. You need to break up your shape as well. Adding long grass, twigs (ones with leaves on them are the best to use) as well as any other natural debris to your plate carrier and any headgear can really help in breaking up your shape. Some dyed burlap strips are also very useful. You have to remember that the effectiveness of your camouflage depends on the environment you're currently in. Lighter patterns like MTP are very useful in environments with lots of light colours, such as areas with very sandy soil and light coloured flora.

  5. Not really. We really should make a thread but I think many of these are currently listed in the 'Places To Buy' subforum already. Try these (in no particular order): Scope and laser eHobby Asia (terrible minimum shipping price) WGC Shop UN Company (horrible search function - use Google advanced search and filter by domain) DEN Trinity Shop (horrible search function - use Google advanced search and filter by domain) AEG Cart Asia Tokyo Model Company And about 20 others that I'd have to rack my brain for but can't right now - the above are all ones I've used in the past 6 months or so. I'm sure other suggestions will flood in.

  6. I wear an OD carrier with mtp kit but no one's ever said you were easy to see I wear my dpm kit when the foliage starts to thin out

  7. I dunno i've never had issues being spotted wearing an OD plate carrier with either DPM or Multicam Tropic on. The thing that I have always found gives people away is their face, followed by people wearing colours that clash with the environment such as light or non earth tones in woodland.

  9. I gotta say that I'm on the side of importing too with the extortionate rates and lack of selection here in the UK. Even with customs and shipping you'll tend to save a bit and get the colour or manufacturer that you want, rather than what's just in stock here at home. If you're upgrading something and aren't in a hurry then I really see no reason not to order from abroad other than the fact that it takes a it longer to search for these things and that you have to know the sites which are available (many have terrible search features or aren't listed very highly on Google).

  10. Terrible. Good job I can still search for and find an M4 magazine. Or an SHS V3 Trigger Switch. Or an AK47 sling. Or a G36 ammo pouch. Or an M16 scope. Or a Glock holster. Or pearl grips for a Colt 1911. Did nobody actually check listings before posting on this thread? Edited to add: ak2m4, I'd have another chat with eBay, as this was posted today - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AIRSOFT-M-GENUINE-LONEX-REINFORCED-TRIGGER-FOR-VERSION-2-GEARBOX-ASG-4-UK-/371353748344?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item5676688378

    Non airsoft sales

It's been discussed at length by us mods and we've decided not to go for it. We like the fact that we are primarily still a 'discussion forum', rather than a 'selling forum' + as we can't moderate stuff we don't know about, we've chosen to keep it strictly airsoft only. There will be camera forums you can sign up to and you're more likely to get a better deal than off here. Cheers

    Not firing......

If all that fails try this little trick to make sure the mag is feeding. Take the inner & hop unit out of the rifle. Put about 25 BBs in the mag, unless you are using a hicap, in which case load about 75 BBs and wind the mag fully. Then, holding you thumb or finger over the hole the nozzle goes in from, put the hop feed tube into the top of the mag (it's best to place the bottom of the mag on something solid, like a table or worktop). If the mag is feeding is should load about 4 or 5 BBs into the tube and align with the nozzle feed hole. If not, you have a problem either with your mag spring, the little slide that keeps the BBs retained in the mag, or the hop unit itself. If it does feed, carefully stick a bag over the nozzle feed hole, then take away your finger. If the mag is feeding strongly BBs should shoot out of the back of the hop unit (the bag is there to stop them going all over the house!!). The other things to check are that the small diameter spring is still on the top of the hop unit, to push the hop back into tight contact with the gearbox, and that the hop isn't turned fully on by mistake. To check, with the inner & hop out of the gun, look down the inner from the muzzle end with the hop towards a light source. With the hop fully off you should either not be able to see the hop rubber at all, or just the slightest bump in the top of the hop. If you can see a lot of hop rubber then that may be your problem.

Cheers esoterick. No need to be a smart ass airsoft_mr b, I was just asking a question. I see like lots of pictures of people in the field and of loadouts etc so though someone might be interested. A simple no would have done and probably caused less offence.

    How you started

I should have put more info on my first post really. look like the first one dancing.......dad dancing anyway. My son who was 11 at the time went to a paintball party, when he was coming back to the safezone he saw the guys coming back from airsoft. he never stopped talking about it and asked for a BB gun for Xmas, I decided to see how responsible he would be with one so I bought him a cheap springer pistol & he was extremely careful & respectful. the following year I decided to get him something with a bit more bite & found this community.....the more I read about it the more I kind of got into it myself. We now go together & use it as our time. fast forward to him turinging 13 this year and we are still loving it. Great people, fantastic community, top fun shooting strangers and laughing about it in the safezone.

    Hi Guys!

Welcome to the forums, plenty teams out there, sure you'll find one at local skirmish sites! She's right you are a bit sad, but we all are, and we're comfortable with this so keep on shooting each other with toy guns

That "clicky adjuster" makes it far more comfortable. Sometimes it really is worth paying a bit extra. FMA for my money.

  22. Watching Airsoft-Ed go through a building like shit through a goose is always a treat! There are few people on the scene who can equal his spatial awareness and tactical understanding - that he does it with modesty and scrupulous honesty also just makes him too good to live. Burn the witch, I say! Then there's Andrew "Coldy" Coldicott, the deadliest airsoft sniper in the UK. Not an immodest man as such, but certainly more aware of his own uber than some, nevertheless being hit by him can sometimes feel like a privilege, a master class in concealment and tactical deployment. Not that it isn't also bloody frustrating at times when you can't get anywhere on an entire flank because 1) you can't see him and 2) even if you could, he would be out of range and easily shoot you before you could get suppressive fire on him.
