  1. Hi buddy, Just feel the need to say, because I've got very close Syrian friends in Latakia, that whilst airsoft is fun these crisis points aren't. I know this reply might seem like a downer but I had to say it. I hope you understand. But further in response to you post, the media coverage of these areas does give an excellent perspective to what equipment is out there at the moment

  2. Loads of people wouldn't buy a GBB AS VAL or VSS, however I guarantee that the TM M4 GBB will sell out worldwide within a week of release. Some places won't even have enough stock to meet pre-order demand. TM know the market, they've been making airsoft guns for well over 2 decades and are still top-dog for a good reason.

  6. First off I love that second picture you posted, there's some real character showing through it. I wouldn't mind knowing who took it/ where it was taken.I love the gear they're wearing aswell, it looks military without being over the top and looks practical but doesn't instantly scream freedom fighter to me. I'm really in to these type of loadouts and they don't have to be specifically Ukraine- look for pictures from Bosnia, Serbia, Somalia etc and you'll find shots of people using different weapons and whatever camo they can get their hands on or just using the clothes on their back.In airsoft it's a really thin line to walk between looking like a rebel and looking like somebody who's turned up to their first skirmish in jeans, a hoody and a rental AK so you just need to throw in a few finishing touches to make sure you look the part. I'm looking at 58 pattern webbing for something similar I'm throwing together as it's something you can pick up cheaply and easily, it's practical and multi-functional which is what this type of setup should be about.

  8. Its always a difficult balancing act to walk the tightrope of trying to be realistic and at the same time, not appearing to belittle or be insensitive to current and very real conflicts. Some of the suffering that is shown on Facebook of the fighting in Syria and the Ukraine in the name of entertainment is quite sickening. However, I think the role of "rebel" or "freedom fighter" is quite an interesting one in milsims. Its interesting that a lot of players want to be multicammed up to the nines, with fewer being interested in a more asymmetric role. Partisans, resistance etc have always been the core of many wars and their bravery and self sacrifice legendary. We are currently due to run a milsim just off the M25 in September which is currently following a fictional eastern bloc government vs rebels storyline. To answer your question, its very cheap to achieve the rebels loadout and I think its fun as you don't have to conform in the stereotypes of regular soldiers. Limited only by imagination. There are lots of opportunities in that game for the rebels to plan assassinations and generally hassle the government side with booby traps, ambushes and explosions, Personally, seems like a much more fun role to me.

To be honest finding one in stock and mags will be hard. Try land warrior and fire support. Check out the pts mega arms mkm too, it's a kwa but in nicer externals.

  16. if you are plinking, get a springer and just see if you enjoy that, then break yourself in with a rental gun and see what you think of skirmishing, beleive it or not many of my mates have come away almost horrorfied after being shot at endlessly buy a 40 year old man with a big fuck off a&k 249 para... look at a budget, but quality aeg, i got a cm16 raider and pimped the motor etc, threw it around etc until it just conked out last month! as for ukara, you will need a VALID DEFENCE for buying a rif from a retailer.. but does not exempt you from attaining a rif from a private seller. best of luck in your adventure into airsoft, go and give them a fist full of bb's!

  18. This. Its often overlooked but an important point. No good having all the gear if you're going to be outpaced by light weight practical loadouts and even the new kid with only a hire G36 and 1 mag.

  19. Had a bit of a splurge this month to relieve the melancholy of not having been able to skirmish for a while. Have managed to snag: M110 Spring Angel (prommy copy) straightpull trigger 9 x G&P ball ball 130 rd midcaps A pair of Desert Lowa boots A tan radio pouch A pair of Emerson G3 multicam trousers A pair or real Crye Precision G3 airflex kneepads A Garmin Foretrex 101 A 7.4v 2600mAh Lipo Some Blaster 0.25g tracer rounds Some Blaster 0.25g normal rounds Used shotgun cartridges to make my own shotty primer adapters for the BFG. And most of it will get an outing this weekend!

    hi everyone

This. If you can check the AK is working once you've tried it with a battery and you'd be happy posting I'd be happy to make an offer on it. Edit: In case you're still not sure, this one is the AK.

  24. Just finishing one off myself I don't want to reveal full details yet until I have pics which won't be until I get the AK body from my gf who lives about 80 miles away, but my pro russian kit/ GRU Spetsnaz will cost less than £200 including camo and mags, gun and the lot It took time though! You can do these loadouts pretty cheaply because all their kits is most likely scavenged, donated or bought cheaply! My Chicom rig only cost £11 posted from China The reason they are wearing DPM is beacause there is such a large surplus of it and so it is cheap and easy to buy in bulk. It could even be Russian made, nearly every 'western' camo has been copied and manufactured in Russia for various situations for all their different units.

  25. Whether it was pulling you limb from limb, or just crushing you under their demented ravening weight, they'd have you in plate armour pretty quick I reckon. I've tried a curass and greaves on and, even without the proper double layer of padding underneath, it was bloody heavy to march around in carrying a wooden sword. There's a reason medieval soldiers spent a lot of time training in their armour: you need to be proper cardio fit. Trust me if you haven't experienced it, there's a big difference between gymn fit and carrying a load of weight for fucking miles and still being able to jump around at the end of it. Part of it is training your metabolism to work at higher efficiency to make energy available to you for extended periods. Instead of the usual thing our bodies do of sequestering carbs for production of fat, the in between stage, glycogen, becomes more important - it is easier for the body to convert it back into sugars than to break down fat, but to do this a lot demands a great deal from the liver and can also lead to blood chemistry and urinary problems - basically it's like an engine: if there's anything at all wrong with it, running it hot up and down motorways will cause it to break down faster than pootling around town... The average fitness of people i see at airsoft, i'd give them about 15s explosive energy with a two handed melee weapon of some kind and if that hadn't bought them a clear route to run away they'd be fucked, because it would be all downhill from there...

  26. The thing is that m4s are what people buy so it makes sense for manufacturers to make them. If over half of all players own an AR15 of some some sort and often more than one then it's the obvious choice.

  27. i wear an iraq issue mk6 with the mtp cover and it's bearable.. bit of a sweat bucket, but i'm aspiring to go to sandhurst after university so guess it's good practice for when they give me a shiny new mk 7

It actually looks a lot like some of the guns in Mass Effect. And THAT armour is a LOT more practical.....

    I might do this.

Haha reminds of when I used to convert cheap spring shotguns to fire BBs instead of nerf bullets when I was younger. Can imagine it being a very cheap build project. I'd have personally done it in one of these:

  30. OK so I finally skirmished mine. The results: I was impressed with the anti-fog - i did sweat a fair bit, but not as much as i might have done since i was mainly sniping, not running around with an AK much. The lenses did not fog at all. However they did get full on running liquid condensed sweat in them, which did become intolerable for my role on the field. In conclusion I'd say that, if you sweat like a demented ex-nazi wearing a dress when confronted with a choir of children, then they're only good for CQB or anywhere you don't have to spot hidden camouflaged targets. For sniping/counter-sniping they're no good.

    Element Airsoft

Quality of gear/looking the part does not make you a good airsofter. Playing hard and playing fair make you good. Can the hate. I would however agree with everyone that you will find more support on international/US forums. ArniesAirsoft have a strong US membership so I'd recommend you try there... I was going to close this to avoid the inevitable 'UK site u n00b' posts that are sure to follow, however I'd be interested to know, you mention using airsoft to bring your community together, specifically younger group, what sort of things did you have in mind? Here in the UK, most people are like 'DERP. GUNS R BAD CUZ DEY KILL PPL. BANBANBANBANBANBAN' so if you have any ideas that could be applied over here that would be interesting!

  40. Personally I'd go for the propper since it saves you a bit and both look to be near enough the same quality (from reading the descriptions/looking at photos). £7 is very low postage from the US though. I'd double check if it includes any customs charges you may incur (some sellers do this through a third party).

    would this be OK?

you do not require UKARA yourself to use a RIF. UKARA is simply to buy one nothing else. So if your dad bought it you can use it all day long on a site. Look at it this way when you go on a site and have a rental that is a RIF and you don't need UKARA for a rental BAC are pointless you mustn't have read my recent investigation thread about BAC also to note that BAC has nothing to do with UKARA what so ever. Also using someone else's UKARA is all fine and well but if you add your details or even their details and use a different delivery address you wouldn't receive the RIF as it'll only be posted to the address in which the UKARA is registered to so if you on the sly used your mates UKARA it would be delivered to him.
