    airsoft blowing up?

We get a lot of new airsofters down south- the facilities are there as many sites round me do U18 game days- however because of this influx there are more kids who turn up with JBBG special 2tones, who then need re-education in professional airsoft consumerism.

    airsoft blowing up?

It's all The Mighty Jingles fault for me. He does World of tanks and War Thunder videos mainly. He does the occasional video about airsoft and I ran out of War thunder videos one day...

  4. If your keep your questions about the guns to your original thread, you're more likely to get an answer. No one wants to have to go through a load of different threads for the same topic.

  6. Annnnnndddddd moving on swiftly. Nothing special, but I won't be airsofting for a month of two *cri ,_,* so i thought id take some proper photos of my scar before she's put away. I usually use a pressure switch for the T6 light and use a green laser PEQ box, but I was too lazy to mount them on and wire them up. (Excuse the dodgy photo quality and the floppy magpul) Here are some close ups of the EoTech 552 I laser engraved but never got round to posting.

    Samoon.com.tw

Official reseller of GHK everything. Anyway, I was in dire need of some proper green gas mags, and apparently their gen 2 ones are proving to be pretty competitive (apparently hands-down beating reliability when compared to the ProWin mags, anyway). So I initially made an order, and, being the idiot I am, I managed to buy 5 of the wrong magazines. Realising my mistake the next morning, I immediately rattled off a PM and has a reply back from Samoon himself after 3 hours saying that they'd cancelled the order and that it had all been refunded. Anyway, I then went on to re-order 6 of the gen 2 M4 magazines - the order came to $365 shipped (so that's $65 postage - not cheap, but not expensive given the weight of the order). Dispatch was fast; the package was sent out within 6 hours, and, I'd been told that they'd thrown in a t-shirt and some high viscosity silicone too - the combined value of which would have been ~$15, so it was a nice thought. It was shipped with EMS and although I initially couldn't get any shipping information to display, a quick e-mail to Samoon revealed there was a 2nd, more reliable tracking website that was well updated and showed every stage of the journey (including the customs process). From the checkout to my door, I'd say it was exactly 6 days (two of those being the weekend) - on something that did require duty payment, I was pretty chuffed. The whole thing was packaged nicely too. All in all, a big thumbs up from me. I know of people on Gasguns who swear by this website for various GHK replacements (ask Samoon and he'll provide prices for every last bit) and although I was buying for my G&P, I'm pretty content with the knowledge that if something goes wrong, I'll have somewhere to easily buy replacements (something I cannot say so easilly about ProWin or G&P brand mags).

    Soldier of fortune

Ordered a few bits coz the prices on them were very good, and delivery reasonable. Realised the next day that I'd messed up (ordered non blowback pistol but wanted blowback. Phoned them and they said they'd hold my order whilst I decided what to do/email them. Turns out they don't sell the blowback model I wanted so they refunded me - all very quick and painless. I know you could argue that this is no more than they should do, but at the end if the day I had made a mistake on my order by not reading the description properly and they made it very easy to correct with excellent and prompt customer service, so they get a thumbs up from me. I've since ordered more stuff from then and would happily do so again.

    Charger problem!

Pictures obviously show a lipo and a balance charger, all as expected. No magic going on this is just how the technology of these batteries works.

  12. He seems to get a very healthy K/d ratio and he certain shifts when he is moving up. The games are usually exciting and he has good cameras. But he is not the right person to listen to about guns as he doesn't show any knowledge of the internals etc. His loadout video is useful just for the discussion of sights, scopes, mag pouches and chest rig but its not the best guide either. He is fun to watch rather than it being informative.

  13. A custom gun includes but is not limited to:Full built from scratch. Custom body kits. Custom gimmicks. A custom gun is not: A gun personalised with aftermarket parts. These are great as we all know, but not custom guns.

    airsoft blowing up?

Last nights game one of the players was really young, possibly 12-14. That was a surprise to me, by far the youngest player I have come across. He was actually pretty good according to my team mates, although I must admit I barely saw him all night. I don't know how relatively popular the hobby is, I suspect a retailer might tell you if business were up or down year on year if you asked nicely. My local site got a lot busier in the last couple of weeks but then the second closest site shutdown so that has caused an influx in refugees. I found the sport after I saw a game from levelcapgaming (he plays Battlefield 4 mostly) on youtube, that was what convinced me it was for me. But really the push for me was a trip to Nevada USA a couple of months ago where I spent an afternoon in a range firing lots of real steel guns, fired around 800 rounds from 9mm pistols all the way up to an M60. On the trip back I decided I was definitely going to retake up my shooting hobby after years of not doing it (first law change in the 90's stopped it the first time) so I found out about local rifle clubs, looked into what guns I could own and use and also came across airsoft probably looking at pellpax (real steel guns but they also do airsoft guns). I do play CS /COD/Battlefield/Arma and have done for many many years, but that isn't really where the interest started. So I can't say that in my case a few key gamers converting to airsoft was what kicked it off, it was actually my own trip to the USA. But certainly good quality and well edited gameplay videos from my local site and the gamers in the USA sold on wanting to do it pretty quickly.

Keep seeing more and more people turning up at sites like Section 8 and The Fort than I did when I first started. That said, ScoutTheDoggie does film there frequently, so they get a lot of free advertising!

I've ordered from these guys before and had mixed experiences. A recent purchase, however, has made me never want to use them again. So I ordered a G&P M2 red dot. The first problem arose here: I didn't receive a single e-mail after paying for the item. I've had them before, and thought this must be in error, so I sent them an e-mail and - after 3 days of waiting - they got back to me with a tracking code. These things happen, so it was fine. Fast-forward 10 days or so, and I've got the aimpoint: I take it out of the box, throw in some batteries and nothing; it's broken. I try different batteries, and make sure I've got the batteries in the right way around - nothing works. I send them an e-mail, and after a few days of waiting, they say they'll send a replacement. Excellent news - a free replacement without the need for returning mine. I ask them to check the packaging this time as the aimpoint was rattling around in the box a lot and that that could have something to do with it. I get the replacement, and it's not working either. I also notice that, again, the damn thing is poorly packaged and has been rattling in the box through its journey. I take pictures, and record a video showing that the thing isn't working. I also provide some instructional images on how to pack the optic without it rattling around (it just needed some bubblewrap). I send this all off, and they - this time - request I return the products before a refund. Well, it cost me $44 shipped, and shipping it back would perhaps cost me another $15-20. I really didn't want to end up paying $60 for a half-guarantee that they might send me one that's working. At that point, I'd rather buy one from the UK at a massively inflated price. I offer to pay the shipping on a second replacement; they agree. I ask them to take a picture of a.) how its been packed before its sent and b.) the optic working before they send it I get the second replacement and surprise surprise, it's another lemon. It's also been rattling around in the box the whole way here... again. I requested the images I asked for of it working before they send it, but they never took any. I've now been sent three of these optics and none have worked; G&P make some of the better aimpoint clones, and I don't believe for a second that all three were busted before they left their factory. Either they were aware that they were sending me a broken product (or just didn't test it as the claimed they had) or the packaging was responsible for it breaking in shipping. So, as you can imagine, that's the last time I'll be using these guys for any purchases. It's a shame, because their shop has some fairly nice stuff in it that's hard to get elsewhere.

    Where to buy

From what I've heard and read, I'd have to agree with two zero. A lot of people I've spoken to don't have much good to say about it considering it's price. If it was priced at the £150~ mark it would be a great buy but it doesn't justify it's higher price tag due to some issues it has (can't remember the exact ones at the minute) which you wouldn't want in a £350+ rifle as for the same price you could have your pick of practically any Tokyo Marui rifle. Like I said - this isn't first hand knowledge, just what I've seen on forums/YouTube and heard at game sites amongst airsofters who heard it from a friend who knew a guy who had a cousin whose dog had one.

  27. I have a thing about emails and response times. Email is a staunch part of modern businesses these days. People will readily answer a phone and take your money. If they cant be bothered to sit and write a reply to a sensible email, then it usually means they have the wrong kind of staff, they have too much business already, don't have time to attend to you or they are very disorganised. None of these things are good for the aspiring consumer. In Airsoft, many of those behind shops and sites are relatively young so they don't have the excuse of not being up on modern technology. Thats just my thoughts on the subject, but I like email as you get written transcripts of both sides of the conversation. Its easy to get it wrong with phone calls. Ive found that shoddy companies will answer the phone and tell you anything. The measure of them is how often they will return a voicemail message that you leave. There is a fine line between hobbyists and business people. The trick is spotting the ones that differentiate.
