what load out am I? :)
CaptainSwoop and 3 others reacted to Tariq for a topic
Random Airsofter??? I don't see the need to label a "loadout". I don't even like that term.. Kit is kit. If you've gone to copy something from the real world that's fine but if you've just thrown stuff together you're just going to get stuck with the PMC (operator / contractor / mercenary) label. Once had a guy tell me that my kit was wrong since Italy don't use the pistol I had and my chest rig was completely wrong. Had to explain to him that I wasn't copying an Italian soldier, just Vegetato works great in the UK and the rest of my kit does too. I feel that too many people think in that way, especially those at F&O4 points -
I DO have a Black Mesa Security Force kit from the Half Life series. Had one guy at The Mall shouting "BARNEY" on the other team all day2 points

Crossdraw vest! Must be a n00b!! Just kidding, it's good to copy a loadout, but some people take it much too seriously. For example there was some team of blokes who turned up at Halo Mill a while ago in full MTP gear. Wouldn't be bad at an outdoor skirmish - but for a CQC like that it's a bit unnecessary. If something works well for you, use it. You shouldn't needlessly over-encumber yourself or use equipment that you don't like for the sake of authenticity. Modern day operators focus on speed and cutting down on weight for a reason. One thing I don't understand are vests with the magazine pouches on the right. Unless you're left-handed, I'm pretty sure it would be better to have them on the left.2 points -

Double the fun: turn up as a video game character or talk to a serious milsim airsofter (you know these guys when you see them) and ask if their load-out is inspired by call of duty. Fun always ensues haha All joking aside (since I play at F&O sites), if the kit works then it's fine. It doesn't need to have a label. Granted some people (like myself) like to strive for a particular look (mostly eastern bloc style loadouts for me) it doesn't make you any less of an airsofters than those who go full milsim - something a lot of "serious" airsofters overlook. P.s. The kit looks great mate, what weapon is that?2 points -

While in Hong Kong I treated myself to an early birthday present of a GHK G5 and some extra mags Being escorted by 4 armed police men to have it security checked was kind of cool, and if I did not know better, two of them may well have been airsoft players themselves as they had a brief discussion on the G5 while checking it was not a real gun.2 points -
As I said, emotion vs logic. If you feel that the risk of tripping over something because you can't see properly and being injured by falling onto something sharp is less important than the risk that 1/18th of a BB could hit your eye and somehow do so with sufficient force to hurt you (and think about how much energy the whole BB would have to have if 1/18th of it can hurt you), then that is your choice to make. My main point here is that shooting glasses and mountain biking eyepro are not suitable for airsoft.1 point

Well Ian someone certainly had their weetabix this morning. As for the glasses simply read the article that turned up in Airsoft Action this month (MAY 2014 issue) page 71, "READ AND TAKE NOTE" if you haven't seen it or can't then the main thrust of the article describes a player from the Shadow Stalkers who was shot with an AEG from 15 to 20ft away, a round hit the rim of his mask and ricocheted up under his glasses hitting the underside of his eye and then eyebrow, his eyebrow was bruised by the impact. The impact to the eye caused a bleed into his vitreous humour (liquid filling they eye) and damage to his retina, this led to being completely blind in that eye almost instantly. With proper medical care (luckily his nearest hospital had a specialist eye casualty unit, he is regaining sight but it has taken over a year and he cannot do any physical activity at the moment because he may detach the retina. He will require yearly eye tests as there is now an increased risk of eye damage. Moral for me, I will probably invest in some better eye pro, I have a set of ESS V12 goggles but they fog badly on me, my main set are cheap goggles from Hong Kong and realistically I'm now not convinced they are up to the job.1 point

If you pulled off a 360 no scope in that get up I think most people would overlook your noobishness as you obviously have 1337 skills1 point

I just load from the dump pouches into a spare mag pouch during a quiet patch or something- allows you to reload quickly and stops excessive rattle1 point -

I've gone off dump pouches. While they're good for really quick tacticool reloads (provided you have open mag pouches and can actually reload quickly) they normally rattle around and make one hell of a noise.. if you have individual mag pouch or even divided ones I find its often quicker just to put them back in the pouch1 point -
There are no plans to redevelop the area, mainly due to the high costs involved, we have all we are likely to get. Mainly as the rest of the site is used as an enterprise park.. How long we will have it obviously depends on the council, but we hope to sign a long term lease very shortly...1 point

If anyone feels like flexing their art-bone, I'm looking for a design featuring a Grim Reaper but instead of a scythe I want him aiming a bow. Cloak hood up, face on -ish, turned slightly to one side so the perspective makes the arrowhead pretty big / 4 colour: black (cloak & hood), white (skull, skeletal hands, arrowhead), chocolate brown (bow, arrow, background), dark forest green (cloak/hood highlights, background) - feel free to use any of the colours for high/low-lights / to make features contrast / as lines/pixels that could be embroidered to make colour shades.1 point

Thunder B's are great IMO - I have 2. Not cheap though - 1 x 12g CO2 capsule and 1 shell per bang (you can get the shells from Bullseye for a decent price, but all the same it's still not cheap). Like so much in life they need a bit of TLC and lube to work correctly...1 point

Question, Shooting in the home?
Dutch reacted to Airsoft_Mr B for a topic
I try to go outside and shoot but there are all these houses above us on a hill, and they always come out onto their balcony to chill so it's kind of offputting. I don't think they really see / care though.1 point -
Just the front end of the 14.5" Avalon BCM gun. Waiting on a chance to take full shots.1 point

Its a moving diagram of a typical (vers 2) AEG gearbox. The only important bits missing is the magazine, which is fed using a long spring in a mid cap or a wound spring in a hi cap and the hop up, which is the part that adds back spin to the BB as it gets shot up the barrel. Its this backspin that gives the BB its range (due to Bernoulli's principle if you want to get really geeky).1 point -
Whats the best way to stop your goggles from Fogging?
jeffery7466 reacted to M_P for a topic
Shhhhhhhhhhh, don't tell people!1 point -
Just to point out CatCrap is a type of antifogging you can buy not actual cat faeces. As for the things that work/don't work, pretty much everyone on the forums that uses goggles will have tried many of the stuff on the list, between us all they have probably been tested extensively and the main point is that as far as I can tell nothing actually stops it from happening it simply delays how long till it happens. That includes using fans like those chromatosphere ( ugh cant use the p word) guys use. Or just go for mesh, if you wear glasses maybe try contacts just for game days perhaps. It cuts out that issue altogether. If you solve the problem let us know so we can all do it!1 point
