  1. Tough question. As others already said, it's a matter of actually fielding stuff. I'll take my sniper kit as an example, I've been working on it for 2 years, have tried all sorts of different configurations, yet I'm not satisfied with anything I've tried. There is always that pouch getting in the way when going prone, or that fucking MK23 burying itself somewhere, or lately not being able to have quick access to what I really need like gardening shears to cut holes in vegetation and/or attach natural veg to the rifle. Don't be fooled by youtubers and celebrities. Everyone was using belt+harness kits until some famous thundercunt said "go buy Vipurr spiritus knockoff iz gud rig", then EVERYONE started using it. Even if it's a bit shit.
  2. On the subject of inner barrels, I do swap them over ONLY to fine tune the energy output (say I'm running 1.01J and I can't be arsed to nip the spring, so I go for a wider/shorter barrel to go back below 1J, it's mostly a matter of a hundredth of a millimetre in diametre or a centimetre in length).
  3. Don't worry, I've fallen into the trap too. When I got my Honey Badger I bought like 4 different hop chambers (including Retro Arms, Madbull and almost bought a MAXX too), guess which one is in my gun now? Yep, the stock Ares with the arm from the Madbull one
  4. Those who change hop units deserve their own ring in hell.
  5. Big game on Sunday with all the teams from the region.

Field looks seems to be really open.

Shall I take the sniper or sling 0.32s in my AEGs?

Ahahahah, I'm afraid our adventures with the cheetah club are over :(

After "stealing" our worst members (literally, they took in a guy who doesn't call his hits unless he bleeds and another who thinks he knows it all lol), we decided to never invite them on our field again.

With that being said, I think I'll bring the AK, although I have to check the shimming as it's a bit of a whiny bitch, if I can't fix it in time then it's Honey Badger time with the specna as a backup.

I have ML rubbers in all my guns, so hopping them rocks isn't really a problem..

      Referrs to .32's as rocks

*Looks at several bags of .48's*

Got more Intel on the field I'll be playing at.

      Seems good for sniping..

Okay, gonna take the sniper BUT I am also taking the AK + smersh combo, just in case shit gets real and I need to fling many BBs over there in a short time.

  6. Ares grip I guess... Had the same issue with it (on an Ares M4 btw), motor sits at a stupid angle and chews on bevel gears/pinions.. What the fuck were they thinking..
  7. I do the same, along with swapping the battery connectors to deans. My specna didn't fire a single round in anger before being upgraded so I have no clue about the stock performance
  8. I am currently working on strapping my DTD to a Helikon TMR (using a few zip ties), so I can carry the MK23 with my AEGs. On my sniper kit I'm using a simple universal fabric holster ziptied to a backpack's left shoulder strap. EDIT: https://i.imgur.com/lMfG9nN.jpg This is a very old kit I built 2 years ago. The concept is the same. https://i.imgur.com/Z0dvR0e.jpg https://i.imgur.com/nkVf1Nx.jpg A more recent kit, this time the holster is ziptied to a chest rig, but the result is the same.
  9. I would advise against hip carrying the mk23. I found that having it under the armpit on your weak side is much more comfortable, plus if you need to draw from a prone position you move less, thus decreasing the chances of being spotted. But hey, if you're comfortable with the gun on the hip, carry on
  10. They are equivalent. These shorter ones obviously have the advantage of keeping the whole thing "compact"
  11. Don't remind me when I bought mine some 2 years ago M81 wasn't available yet Fucking Helikon really

    (Nice clickbait huh?)

    for real tho.

A mate of mine has an Amoeba CCR for sale, externally it's OK but internally it's utter shit, all grindy and runs at sub 20 RPS on a beefy 11.1...

I have a Honey Badger, internally it's great but I want a super short rifle with a folding stock.

Would it be worth to swap bodies?

I just rebuilt the HB in its stock form, with the super unbalanced and heavy OEM 9" rail. It's uncomfortable but it does look good, especially with the FF carry handle (which I bought FYI :P).

also chronoed it, 0.96J (good) and 16 RPS on a 11.1 (meh).

New motor's coming in next week (debating whether or not putting the ifrit 25k or the incoming SHS high torque in there, any tip?).

I've already seen that AY thingy, what bugs me is the metal receiver.

Not because of the weight (2070g vs 1930 of the Ares and I can still send it to a friend to be skeletonized and shave some grams off) but because after a while all the metal body guns I've seen turned into wobbly cunts. Definitely inviting for the price (apart from the weird gearbox shell).

I'll check on another teammate who has a CCR, it's been rebuilt recently and runs somewhat smooth.

      Sitting Duck

      Ifrit is more expensive

25k and main point is it has an " O " type pinion

The SHS HT is 30k (ish), has a D type pinion

To me it falls to performance/price and ease of pinion replacement. Even if you got a pinion puller, if you can get or already have spare pinions that some might mesh with bevel being used

SHS do both type of pinions anyway

If you got a puller then it boils do to the price/performance & availability I guess

      Both are good motors

If you got an ifrit in your gun then you don't HAVE to change it like you would if you had a later STD 18k G&G grey motor

If people find the 25k Blue "Powerful Motor" ferrite motor

or better still the Orange Ifrit in their new G&G then they don't really need a new motor is what I mean

tough call but price performance I'd probably go for SHS

but if a Ifrit came in gun or lightly used one came along for a cheap price I'd consider it

as said think price/availability along with pinion etc...

will dictate which one is better - but both are decent

Asked because I already have an ifrit (it's in my arp at the moment), since I'm getting another SHS HT/13:1 combo I thought I'd slap the SHS stuff in the ARP and use the 25k on the Ares.

I'll give it a try tomorrow and see what happens :)

Not looking at 27 RPS/7.4 type of performance tho.

but ffs 16 RPS on a 11.1 is just meh :(

  13. His shooting tests are hilarious though
  14. Thanks for calling me a cheater btw, tonight I'll curl up in a corner holding my drum magged arp9 crying all night as I said, I just keep the trigger pulled until he/she either raises a hand or starts moaning about the pain. Yes it's a bad thing to do, but it's effective, after all this time I've come to the conclusion that a) it's not worth ruining your day (getting mad at someone) b) some people learn only when they get hurt (physically-pain- or economically-shit broken by endless streams of bbs-) It's a very Mustang-esque line of thought, now that I think about it lol.
  15. I don't get why people leave games early Just use the fun switch and make 'em bleed
  16. @Sitting Duck I used the red/black AlphaWire 16AWG Pete sells on his site. I was amazed when I saw the chrono results, it did run a little bit too fast for my expectations when I dry fired the thing after reassemby, but fuck me that thing is FAST now. I have to be honest though, I didn't do the shimming entirely by myself, my team's tech helped me a lot with that.
  17. Another SHS High Torque motor and SHS 13:1 gears from @ak2m4 Motor will go on the honey badger, the gears will go on the ARP-9
  18. Judging by their design, not much, especially at the gun end.
  19. @L3wisDwant some abortion pills in Abu Dhabi? :D

  20. Young (teens/early 20s) refs aren't a good idea. I mean, as long as they deal with same age or younger players everything is fine, but once they have to deal with cocky older people it all goes to shit.
  21. Not if you short stroke. Although I'd recommend to either check my "wat am bset gnu" thread or actually create a dedicated one, TL;DR 13:1, SHS HT and a 7.4 on my specna are giving me 27.5 RPS, on an Ares it takes a little more effort as there are magnets to glue onto gears lol let's try to keep this one tidy-ish
  22. I'm buying another SHS high torque specifically for that gun. Maybe you should too
  23. Another great day! The specna M4 performed flawlessly, sending 0.28s way over there and took full advantage of it throughout the games, at some point a few of the younger players questioned the legality of the gun. Opted to leave the AAP at home and only take the mk23, should have left that one too as I used it once. But anyway. We invited a club we really enjoy playing with, bunch of players who play well but don't take airsoft too seriously, 14 people on the field in total. Games went well, got some long range kills and in the last game I single handedly wiped the whole attacking team. Well, to be completely honest it was almost impossible to dig me out of the hole I found without doing a WW1 style trench charge. Downside: gotta rework my full kit. Again. Fuck me.
  24. This. If my club's president didn't care about such issues, or about hit calling or anything, I wouldn't be playing there for the rest of my life.
