1. Title's kinda self explanatory. I was looking at my ARP-9 the other day, great little gun, nice trigger response, nice ROF (around 22 RPS in its stock configuration), compact size and somewhat lightweight. But it has a few niggles, namely the hop chamber being a bit meh, the stock bushings being brass, the gearbox (as with all G&Gs) lacking a QC spring and having the screws on the other side and the magazines. Most of these cons aren't really an issue, bar the last one. The available magazine really kill the gun's potential.. The stock high cap sucks, can't feed more than 10 bbs before needing winded again, needs to be bashed often (bbs get stuck inside because of the slim design) and the winding mechanism itself is crap. The G&G midcaps are shit, €30+ per mag and they only hold 60 rounds. Absolutely impossible to find. The Classic Army X-9 mags are about €25/30 per mag depending on the retailer, hold 120 bbs but 3 out of 3 mags that I have come with springs so weak they feed the first 10 bbs and then don't have enough tension to lift the other 100. Also really hard to find here. Then there is the drum: that thing is marvelous, feeds everything, is rock solid and being mechanical it doesn't require extra batteries. Very little that can go wrong with it, props to G&G for making it good (also available in 5.56 form which I have, mp5 version and others). Don't get me wrong, the gun + drum combo lets me run really lightweight loadouts (belt, small pack, that's it) which is fantastic for summer games, but sometimes I feel like I'm missing something by not having to reload. So I'm here questioning the permanence of the ARP-9 in my "armory", ideally I should just buy some superfeed springs but, just like them magazines, they are hard to come by. While browsing the internet I've come across a few neat looking PCCs, namely the KWA QRF series, specifically the MOD 1 with its curved MP5 style magazines. The thing is way out of my league though, retailing at €350+, being out of stock everywhere and has the same issue of proprietary magazines. Following that style, I have found the King Arms PDW 9mm series of AEGs. They take regular MP5 mags, opening up to a whole lot of different mags (high caps, midcaps and G&G drums) for much less than say G&G/CA/KWA mags. From what I've seen online they are mostly polymer, feature a weird 7mm QC gearbox and a somewhat basic mosfet, along with a supposedly decent 25k motor. Oddly enough they come with an older style gear hop unit. Price wise, they aren't the cheapest, being mostly unavailable in Italy (can get some from the UK for roughly €210/220 posted). A few variants available, the shorty with a 5" ish front end, the long that should be around 7/8", the M-Lok and the SD (M-Lok variant with a suppressor). I'm particularly interested in the Long version, it has that MP5A5-esque look that is very intriguing, plus it's of decent length. But I've heard mixed feelings about these guns, some say they're great, others say they're shit (as with all things really), some complain about the magazine wobble. I don't care too much about the internals, if I end up buying one I'll be doing the same shit all over again (13:1, HT motor, good FCU, blah blah blah). What should I do? Halp pls 😢
2. Yeah, doesn't look too shoddy. I'll see if I can fit it to the ARP-9 tonight to see what it looks like, but it'll probably go on my new specna whenever it is delivered.
3. My super expensive €20 Geissele knockoff from AliExpress just arrived. ('kin hell now it doesn't show images but links ffs) https://i.imgur.com/0uGdCS9.jpg https://i.imgur.com/MQ7dt3E.jpg https://i.imgur.com/kcPp95r.jpg

Alright let me make a thread.

AK47frizzle

I still have my review posted in that section. Great gun imo for £160 when I got it.

What got me interested is the fact that it's stupid light and that takes regular mp5 mags.

Aight making the thread.

5. You still won't hit anything, but at least you'll look cool
6. My fingers keep slipping. I think I have just ordered a Specna C-08 from gunfire, whoops
7. Great job Graham! @L3wisDwould you mind taking a look at my last message (about the PP scam) and see if you can pin it somewhere?
8. Idk if I should make a dedicated thread, but there is a quite simple scam going around these days (especially in WhatsApp/Telegram groups). Basically the buyer comes up with a screenshot from PayPal in which PP asks for a code. In the meantime the buyer receives said code from PP via SMS. DON'T give that code to the buyer, it's basically a payment request from the buyer, he'll take the money and disappear, nothing you can do really as it seems to be registering as a F&F transfer. Posting because I'm seeing this shit coming up at least twice a day in the telegram groups I'm in. Idk if it's a purely Italian thing or if it happens elsewhere, so be careful guys. It's in Italian, but you get the idea of the screen you're being sent.
9. Yep, although the model I'm interested in (907E, same as yours but with a regular buffer tube) is now out of stock -.-
10. NEVER pay by F&F unless it's someone you can find and kneecap easily.
11. Let me guess, Friends and Family payment? Who the fuck still pays with F&F in 2020?
12. It looks like I just bought a split front TT MAV for €42 posted
13. The stock barrel is perfectly useable, the hop rubber I found it to be a little too hard, there's a 50° MR-Hop in mine and works like a charm
14. Boots are a huge giveaway, especially if they are black. I suggest splashing some blotches of spray paint (if they are cheap boots, you may not want to do that on €200+ boots lol). Bolts are easy to camo, a simple piece of bdu glued on top of the receiver does the trick and prevents dirt and shit to get into it. Mesh is good, but if safety is a concern then Lenskin are lifesavers just remember to keep the centre of the lens (where the eye looks through) clean so you still retain vision.
15. I feel you, my job is similar, I do get to move a bit from time to time (surveying is fun /s) but mostly it's about sitting in front of a PC drawing crap on AutoCAD -.-
16. You weak fuck jk I'm 29 and I'd totally do the same, just because I'm fat Anyway, I have mixed feelings about yesterday's game. Invited a couple of clubs, great guys to play with, they call their hits and play fair. Started with the bolt action, got a couple of kills but that part of the field still has too much vegetation to make bolt actions useable, so after 2 games I switched to the ARP-9. The usual 2kewl2die member of our club kept being 2kewl2die until I dumped half an ARP drum mag onto him. He did complain a bit about being overshot but then he behaved for the rest of the day. Glasses kept fogging because of the OneTigris half mesh half cloth mask, need to come up with a more breathable solution. no biggie though, it was a warm day (16 to 20°) and I made the terribad decision to run long sleeves -.- that's on me One thing that absolutely pissed me off was the MK23. I had it setup on the left shoulder strap of my backpack (I ran just my belt and pack) but due to the massive size of the thing it kept flopping about and kept getting in the way.
17. Stock and rail set arrived And I just realized I didn't need the rear small rail
18. Skirmshop stuff arrived
19. G&G high caps have weird shapes and bulge out in the middle for some reason. Also, trigger reponce
20. >Chronoes the arp, does 0.5J

>Opens the gearbox and finds the spring snapped clean in half

>Puts SP90 (around m100) in, chronoes at 0.7J

>Puts M110 in

>1.3J

Yeah I know.

But still pisses me off..

Btw the arp spring guide has a spacer, not a proper thrust bearing but does the same thing.

Oh well :D at least I got to clean up the mess created by the plastic king arms piston I previously had in the gun.

There is an air leak around the nozzle, but I'll wait to rebuild the whole box to fix it.

Steveocee

Beat me to it, was going to suggest of course obligatory broken spring replacement but whack an 0-ring nozzle in there whilst you're at it.
On my Ares 008 I'm using an M90 with spring and pistonhead bearings with a 128mm 6.01 inner and it sits just about on 1J, really shouldn't need an M110 to get you there.

Piston Spacers...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-Nylon-Plastic-SPACERS-Standoff-Washer-M3-M4-M5-M6-M8-M10-or-M13-12-PACK/332366408497?hash=item4d6294eb31:g:9p4AAOSwUMpeH5Hx

15mm O/D

5mm & 10mm thickness

Alas the 5mm thick has only a M5 hole

so you may need to widen it a bit depending on piston head fitment

a 3mm tooth equates ROUGHLY to M05 or 16.4fps

so ROUGHLY a 5mm spacer adds up to 27 fps

& ROUGHLY a 10mm spacer adds up to 54 fps

Or a 5mm spacer will offset most of power lost from SS 2 teeth

& a 10mm spacer will offset a smidge more than SS 3 teeth

APROX - it kinda works but airsoft physics never works out

exactly in every case - but along those lines somewhat

One word of caution though...

If using a 10mm spacer, double check some longer spring guides

do not bottom out on spacer at full 101% stroke

it is very rare but one spring guide just kissed the 10mm spacer

at full retraction

Not really an issue for me as I SS quite a few boxes

but on say a full length AK 455mm where you keep full or most of stroke, then it is something to remember if trying to boost power

(either a m80 spring to get 350fps or a m100 spring for DMR use)

Then if boosting the spring compression/power with a 10mm spacer

just see if the guide/spacer come close to bottoming out...

FUCK IT - pics say a 1,000 words...

variation in spring guide lengths:

5dEG568.jpg

(no they are spring guides not collection of "other toys")

and some instances where a longer spring guide might bottom out

fJweAFG.jpg

Now admit that is due to the collar from bearings being used...

PcQy4i3.jpg

but you get the idea of what to watch out for

(and why you should not push it with longer 15mm or 20mm long spacers inside piston)

So I use 5mm or 10mm thick 15mm spacers

and wtf as i revisited my old imgur account

here is 007's view on which gears to use...

@Skara - Yeah I don't really get what the supply chain issue is. Even if you pre-ordered yonks ago you won't have one in your hands for another four months.

3. Skara

Skara

Speculation in the SniperWorks discord says that this delay is because he's making them on order (from what I've seen they actually machine the uppers in house).

Although pre-ordering seems to be the standard now for new guns/gear/everything.

@Skara - That's one way to ensure healthy cash flow!.....also I may have accidentally ordered one but thinking of cancelling it in hindsight. I've just ordered another SSX23 and that shoots about as far as I would need it to. Plus, really struggling to compute having only 24 rounds in my primary magazine (plus those MK23/SSX23/SSX303 mags are a bitch to load).

22. So I found this telegram group.

People are buying/selling airsoft kit.

There's enough material to post once per hour on Macks for the next 15 years!

I've put a few items in there too (at reasonable prices, 65% of rrp yallayalla), I'm getting some dumb offers, didn't know I had "charity" next to my name.

Skara

I don't care :D

I want to get rid of the stuff I'm selling so I can fund other projects (like my new tournament M4)..

oh man.

"Selling my old KWA G19 as non functioning due to a slight leak at the magazine base, €50 posted"

"hey, is the gun working? what's the price?"

5 seconds after posting the ad.

The fuck?
