AAP on its way.
Now, Arezzo (lovely town btw, if you ever come to Italy, make sure to check it out) is a couple of hours drive from me.
Hopefully it doesn't take a week to travel 200kms..

judging by the last time you spoke about the italian postal system it'll take about 14 hours to get 199.5km and 2 weeks to make it the rest of the way.
tbf i get a similar issue with one particular shop in ireland, for some reason stuff takes exactly a month to arrive and turns up smelling of fish.
i don't want to say the irish postal system involves chucking the package on the first lorry that looks like it's going vaguely the right direction, but i'm gonna insinuate the hell out of it.

Hot glueing netting.
Please kill me.

Yes, your assumption is correct.
I could have used shoe glue, but I didn't have any around.
I found hot glue to be quite fast too compared to my old method of attaching netting (tons and tons of zip ties).
For my next project I'll make sure to have some shoe glue around, so I can experiment with that as well

Heh. I had a prime subscription, then cancelled it because of two reasons:
Don't like how Amazon treats workers (especially here in Italy, there have been reports of almost slavery conditions) and I don't use it enough to justify the fee, even if it's small, I order maybe once or twice a year from there. 2019 has been an exception as some of the products I got from Amazon I couldn't find elsewhere..

Which colour for a FRV belt?

https://frvtailoring.co.uk/collections/shooters-belt
Those are the ones without the D-ring (which I honestly don't need).
Colour choice will be hard (or not), because I actually mix match my stuff.
I mostly wear green bottoms and A-Tacs FG top for tournaments and M81 or whatever is clean when playing regular skirmishes.
Nylon is almost always A-Tacs iX + either a OD or genuine MC pack.
The pouches that will go on the belt are in genuine MC.
-
Green every time for me then. It just tends to go with "everything" best and will never look out of place.

One week before a fun 21h event and my ankle decides to commit sudoku.
Feels good to be a wreck at 30yo....
Edit: of course the good ankle, not the one with 30 tons of titanium still in it -.-

Bottle and bag. Luxury 😂

Unfortunately not, our role is to hike around the place doing shit.
I do feel much better than yesterday to be fair, at least I didn't wake up cursing every deity known to man like I did yesterday.
Ankle is still swollen and looks like a melon, I have no idea how it happened, I just woke up like that. I guess I strained my Achilles's tendon because rocking my foot back and forth hurts like a bitch.

FRV has just shipped my order.
Which I made yesterday.
What the fuck?

Is Maple Airsoft still alive?
Been looking for some gen 2 SuperFeed springs but they seem to be out of stock pretty much everywhere bar Amped and a couple of canoodian shops.

Wow.
Found it.
G&G arp style drum for M4!
€60, thought it would cost over €100..

Quite surprised by the price as well!
I really thought it would be some overpriced piece of junk, considering the 9mm version goes for €80/90 in "local" shops.
Gonna take my M4s there as well and try it. If it feeds, it's mine.
If it doesn't, well, I'll stick to flash mags
good for tournaments because it's one less battery to worry about (and less weight to sling around, as my current drum mag feels like it's made of lead lined granite)

Packing my gear for tomorrow's long range tournament.
Roughly a 25km hike through various objectives, including recon, assassinations and stealthy stuff to do.
Now, what rig do I pack? 😕

It is gonna be fun.
Weather forecast says it's already heavily raining up there, and it's gonna rain all day tomorrow xD
I wonder if I should prepare my scuba gear as well..
I just don't know what chest rig to take with me, considering I will bring my 2300bb drum + one spare lonex flash mag (which will stay empty in my pack), a multitool, compass, short 10cm ruler, pens, pencils, some gardening shears aaand a lot of butt paper..
So it's either my Mini Mav or my TMR
-
Alright.
I'm soaking wet. Even after a spare change of clothes.
Hasn't stopped raining once, the trail was difficult to begin with, the rain just turned it into a mud and slippery rocks madness.
I had to give up at three quarters of the event because I was getting terrible leg cramps, the rest of my team carried on for the last 2 objectives.
But it was damn fun, this kind of events allows for objective recon rather than doing stuff basically blind. We spent about an hour observing and sneaking up on one of the objectives, and when the HQ gave us a green light we "closed" it in less than 3 minutes, eliminating the whole defense in a matter of seconds and completing all the tasks.
Results aren't out yet but I'm pretty confident we got another first place.
Gear wise, the kit I chose turned out to be way too heavy for the terrain, especially my gun, which turned into a slab of granite with that drum.
Next tournament will see a belt + pack kit with the arp9, hopefully the weather won't be as shit as it was today, further eliminating the bulk and weight of waterproofs.
On top of that I probably need a new pair of boots, my current Crispi ones are getting a tad destroyed and they don't grip that much anymore, along with Gore-Tex slowly giving up on life.

Five parcels making their ways towards me.
one stuck in customs, zero information from the other 4 apart from the respective sellers stating they've been posted.

Is it me or eBay prices have skyrocketed?
Plus many items I was following can't be shipped to Italy anymore.
The fock's happening?
-
Is it me or the specna arms website has disappeared?

I have four V3 tappet plates.
All four have different lengths and each one of them pulls the nozzle up to a certain point (only one pulls it all the way).

@Rogerborg I miss old TNG trek, new stuff doesn't do anything for me. Sniff.
-
So, did some troubleshooting.
The Maxx feed tube is definitely too thick and doesn't insert into my magazines unless it's really forced in.
The same applies to the knockoff old gen unit.
Now, do i sand it down?
- Show previous comments 1 more
-
I checked every magazine I have. They all get stuck to the chamber (I'm testing with the units on their own, not inside the gun).
I have measured the diametre and:
Maxx ME: 9.25mm
Maxx TE: 9.25mm
SHS/Specna chambers: 9.02
Need to shave off 0.1mm all around the tube, will do it by hand as soon as I find a decent piece of sandpaper (or a very light pass with a dremel at the lowest speed possible with a stoney tool)
-
i'd say sandpaper is gonna be your best bet, trying to get an even surface with a dremel is gonna be a right pain when doing the outside of a circle.
it's a tricky one, the split feed tube seems kinda weak but also seems to work quite well, when i was running mine it'd feed every last round which was odd at first having to pump a bunch of rounds into the dirt to be sure it was clear.
-
So, ended up using a file in an arcing motion, which didn't turn out too bad.
I almost royally fucked it up because I went a little bit too deep on the rear part (which engages the bb retainer on the magazine) but I managed to fix that...sort of...
I'm at 9.08 now, I'll give it another pass at the front and sides (working on the Maxx sport which has a "fixed" tube instead of the leverage thingy, I have also removed the dumb tiny bb retention spring in the process).
Worst case I'll ask the guys at Maxx to send me another feed tube.
-
I give up.
Either SHS springs aren't what it says on the package or I got everything wrong in my life.
229mm barrel, 3/4 cylinder, great air seal. Two teeth removed from the sector.
SHS m100 chronos at 1.25J
What the fuck?

Yes, I bought an SHS M100 a couple of years back from some cowboy outfit, M42AK, or similar, and ended up getting 1.3J (humblebrag) out of a stock CYMA piston, 3/4 cylinder and a 229mm 6.02 ZCI barrel. Ouch.
Mind you, a Kyou M90 spring dropped it to 1.1J, which is about what I'd expect, so I'm not sure of the SHS was that much over, or if it was just my awesome, accidental air-sealing skills that did it.

Pdw.
Bang on. Trigger response is absolutely fantastic.
But 25 rps are a little bit too much for my taste, I might tone it down somehow.

New helikon Competition pouches arrived.
Holy shit batman the retention is fucking unreal 😮

Grippy liner, similar to the one in WAS pouches. I expect it to wear out eventually, but the pouches still have two more retention "systems" in form of traditional bungee top and an adjustable shock cord going through the middle section of the pouch.
All in all, for €18 per pouch, they are really, really well made!!
I also got two pistol pouches but can't test them because I forgot my pistol mags at home -.- but they're basically the same thing, without the top bungee, scaled down.
I'll try and get sum pics
-
Yep they are standalone pouches

Imagine going on a bike holiday with your old man.
Imagine having the worst luck possible throughout the trip.
Imagine him crashing in the most retarded way ever, completely destroying his right knee ligaments.
Just when we reached the best places..

Sometimes I hop onto the old italian forum to see if anyone's still posting.
Every time I get surprised by the human stupidity.
-
Just a quick one:
My AK does 24/25 RPS on a 7.4v battery, it has a 36k warhead + SHS 12:1 gears.
What ROF am I looking at with 18:1s?

Is anyone in the Sniper Ops Facebook group?
If so, is it me or the content posted in said group is getting lamer and lamer every day?
-
Move your ass G&G and release the SSG-1 drop stock and handguard already!
Fuck's sake, I need to build my stupid tournament gun!

Can't you get a drop stock adapter 3d printed?
