GraniteFraggle - uk airsoft game footage. Not another Kicking Mustang!
Adolf Hamster reacted to GraniteFraggle for a topic
So I've finally made time to learn some basic video editing (Davinci Resolve fellow nerds) & after being blown away with what you can actually do these days from the comfort of your living room I've started to unleash some unasked for & unwanted in game footage. You won't find hit markers, "elite sniper" setup shots or "cheaters exposed" here, just real, in game footage from longer more cerebral games. Sorry speedsofters, or Kicking Mustang fans this probably this isn't for you. Its more the sort of thing I'd like to see, but isn't really out there.1 point -

I meant a big warning label, one similar to those "FRAGILE" or "THIS WAY UP" or other supposedly easy to see labels. Although the precise wording is still up for debate. "Pro-forma" RIF declaration: There is a UPS version of RIF declaration form somewhere in this forum you can search for it. I tried to put together a better looking version but I have yet to finalise the format, but essentially it is the same form. Find the UPS version and use that one if you need to fill in a copy. The UKARA# should go in the declaration form. But additionally putting it in the address cannot hurt.1 point -

Considering Magpul has been making them for probably 15 years by now (rough guess), the UBR stock is like hen's teeth in airsoft comparatively. There's a million guns with Geissele Mk16s in DDC though, so it's a good balance in a way.1 point

Tokyo Marui Price increases
ruskitseller reacted to rj1986 for a topic
Didn't they already do this, or announce this a while ago? Or is this a new one? Also, i don't think i ever saw a box fresh TM item out there for RRP. I got a NGRS SD6 when they were barely in the UK for about 70% of the RRP at the time, which was about 50% of the UK price. What this means for the UK and the distributors is a whole other thing.1 point -
I really don't want to come across harshly (I genuinely don't). The used market for two-tone is quite unpredictable because of the smaller buyer base. It's just gone Easter so it's more of a buyer's market than a seller's market until the middle of next month going through summer when things might be more favourable for sellers. There are more airsoft boot sales being hosted these days. Depending on where in the UK you are and the cost of your travel and pitch to sell from, that might be an option for you.1 point

Played the Invicta Black Site evening CQB for the first time. Very different to woodlands, fast, tactical and very close (as it should be for CQB). Used my upgraded Cyma MP5K which was perfect, 3 x mid cap mags and my battle belt, it was far to hot for a plate carrier. Plenty of very interesting looking kit taken into the game, lots of HPA, mostly very rapid and accurate pistols. Got shot more in this 4 hour session than I have in 5/6 woodlands full day events I've played, but also got more hits. Covered in bumps and bruises but had an amazing time. 5x 20/25 min games with a cool down in-between. I was unsure how the 300 round ammo limit (per game) would work out but with no full auto, the games being very short and all the walking back to re spawn I only used 100 to 200 rounds per game so pleased I chose the mid caps. It was dark when we started, around 7pm and was pitch black but the time we finished at 11pm. Great fun trying to understand watching the shadows and tactically using a gun mounted light. Lots of room clearing pyro and tracer BB's added to the experience. The safe zone is small and tight so it was really fun discussing the last round and how it played out then as soon as the game started it was full on no mercy, then back to mates agin. I've found woodlands is a bit more spread out so everyone splits off into their own groups so you don't get the same level of chat.1 point -

It's a smart move to make them from 18650s, they're ubiquitous in pretty much everything from electric shavers to electric cars - if you pop open a car battery, thousands of them will spill out. However, it also leaves you vulnerable to bad batches or bait-and-switch by suppliers, or ham handed construction. I note Titans claim to be "made in the USA", which isn't the flex they imagine.1 point

I'm going to defend the lad here, that looks very much like a genuine aimpoint. It's not an M2 obviously but it's genuine, new price of one of those is about 800 at the low end and about 450 used. Just a heads up for anyone with a Tokyo Marui PX4 that wants a threaded barrel, the WE PX4 internally threaded barrel is a straight drop in.1 point

Not me, the wizard @Anonymoose again. He worked some of his spellcraft yesterday, started by trimming down the side locating tabs on 2 different AR AEG outer barrels that weren't quite compatible with the 2 upper receivers in question (noq sit in beautifully), then also fixed some of china's mistakes and drilled some new holes in a QD attachment lever for a PTS Unity Aimpoint micro mount. The big job was converting this real Geissele bolt catch to fit on to an AEG lower (and obviously not protrude inside so there's room for the gearbox). There were MANY steps to this, far more than I've shown, and he also made a custom little piece to sit inside and secure the lever, since a real one would have its' internal segment and a bolt carrier holding it in place.1 point

Happy Easter all. Apologies for the necro, but there is no better thread for me to run in a panic to when I inevitably balls this up. My beloved completely stock M906C gave up the ghost earlier this year, and after cracking it open I (rightly or wrongly) determined that the Falcon ETU was just broken, refusing to turn the motor (and only beeping after a lot of coaxing from me. Its been a while and I foolishly didn't write down what exactly it was doing). All other parts appeared to be in good working order, nothing stuck or caught. So I'm sticking a Perun from @ak2m4into it, new bearings (cos why not), new XT 6.02mm stainless barrel (cos I like the colour and I had a new G&G hop up unit that I wanted to pair with it) and a new m105 spring. Motor I'll sort out later. Please pray for me.1 point

The RIF I wanted so bad, that when I joined these forums 20+ years ago, my username was 'Bison Hunter' 😁. I got a custom made from a TM Beta Spetsnaz but it wasn't really skirmishable. Then I quit the hoppy and came back 15 years later to find that Bizons had basically been and gone... until Patrol Base got some stock in at the same time I got a work bonus. I've had it 3 weeks and decided I wanted to remove the stock completely and cover the exposure at the back. This required an adaptor that itself required some angle grinder attention. But now with the RK-3 grip, B-13 mount (both with funky Russian language on them), and PBS-1 can, it's almost my dream RIF. In lieu of a decent Kobra sight, I have a C More sight on the way, so the nasty one on here is a placeholder. First game on Sunday and I just can't wait! 😁1 point -

ruskitseller reacted to Pseudotectonic for a topic
We should be able to come up with a set of best practice to streamline the process. To ease the process for customs and minimise risks of seizure or police visit, we need the parcel to be very clear about what it is and what it isn't. 1. We can make or fill in a declaration form ourselves, and tell the overseas sender to attach it to the parcel. This saves time for UPS to email you asking for it. The Tracking Number field can be left blank so the seller or UPS can fill it in themselves. - Since there is no official format of such a declaration, essentially it just needs to says what the parcel is and what it isn't. - To make it extra clear what the relevant rules are, the declaration form can contain small paragraphs to explain this is a VCRA controlled import, and the declaration is made for such control i.e. providing defence. Meaning, it is NOT firearms or other stuff requiring some sort of license, but an RIF or airsoft adjacent goods that are relevant to VCRA only. - The form made by UPS should do this job fine at telling what it is and isn't, but it is very basic and can confuse or spook a customs officer when they see some checkboxes for firearms, leading to them wrongly follow the procedures for firearms. So there is potential for a better version of a declaration form made specifically for RIFs and airsoft goods. 2. The parcel should have clear markings of "VCRA IMPORT SEE DECLARATION" and "UKARA NUMBER", to eliminate any excuse for customs officers (or police) to not look at the declaration attached. - As suggested by others some people are doing it in a hacky way like putting it as part of address. But if it isn't a big and bold and obvious label, it could be missed. It should be identifiable at first glance, like any other warning labels on other types of parcels. With 1+2, overseas retailers need to update their procedures for sending to the UK. We can probably draft some basic leaflets or paragraphs explaining what a new best practice might be. Which can then be copy pasted or emailed to the overseas shop. For example...1 point -

Give as much information as you can, regarding quoting the law, be careful how you explain it, you'll never meet an "official" who is prepared to be told how to do their job, especially if they've been rumbled for doing it wrong. So explain your toys should be covered by your ukara, a defence recognised under the violent crime reduction act, & that you've imported rifs previously with no problems. Maybe try to ascertain exactly why they've been held, & if so where the fault lies, because if they dig their heels in, better to be able to prove the seller or the carrier is at fault, in order to pursue a refund or replacement. & whatever happens, remain polite & respectful, don't raise your voice or swear, even in a lighthearted context, these days there are so many triggers that can be invoked if you enable them.1 point -

Selling an Airsoft gun.
Mr Dellski reacted to Galvatron for a topic
The harsh reality is that two-tone airsoft guns depreciate much worse than than their RIF equivalent when all else is equal since the market for two-tone is mostly those without a defence to buy a RIF. 60-70% of current retail (not what you paid) is your typical going rate for used RIFs in good cosmetic and functioning condition to nigh-on pristine and perfect functioning condition. Two-tone will often fall below 60% because you have a smaller market of people interested in buying them since most people with a valid defence to buy a RIF will buy a RIF over two-tone. As EDcase said, to make the most money is to sell separately but it takes more effort and it will take longer to shift all of it. If you want it gone quickly, a bundle with a few deal sweeteners such as mags, ammo, batteries, a case, etc. will be your best option but expect to take a bigger loss than selling separately. I know I'm twisting the knife in saying this but G&G's GC16 and CM16 series with ETUs/MOSFETs are among the worst airsoft guns to sell & resell because they're not price-competitive any more. You can get M4 derivative guns from Double Eagle and Specna Arms with integrated ETUs/MOSFETs that have more programmable features at a price that undercuts G&G's offerings massively.1 point -

Generally its better to sell everything separately but of course its more work to take pics. You'll probably have more luck selling here as its more busy. Make sure to put things in the correct category and don't forget to include a paper with your forum name and date. EDIT: I see you listed it already but you did not include the paper with name and date. Best to add a pic with that so it doesn't get deleted. Good luck 👍1 point -

Customs police came to my home
ruskitseller reacted to Mini airsoft for a topic
Today the customs police came to my house. The gun I bought two months ago has not been updated since it arrived in the UK a month ago. I suspect it was lost or seized by customs. Now I know that it was the customs that seized my gun. They mentioned that it was illegal for me to import a RIF, but when I said that I had a ukara defense, they simply said that they didn't know the specific reason for the seizure. They just checked the guns I already had at home. I asked the seller in Taiwan, and they said that the ukara was written on the commercial invoice. Maybe they didn't notice the ukara on it? They mentioned that if I import it again, it will be a crime and I may be arrested, but I already have a ghk akm on the way and arrived in the UK. It seems that it has not been updated for several days and it is likely to be seized by customs again. What should I do? I am pretty sure this pistol FPS is under the limit0 points -
