  3. Hey all! I can't say I'm new to airsoft (well I am compared to some of you lot), I've been in the field about two years now, but I am new to the forum (which I finally decided to join after hours of guest browsing 💀) A bit about me, i'm terrible at airsoft! Maybe have amassed 20 kills and about 300 deaths... But makes it more fun for the rest of you I suppose! I have been noted to take it very unserious, running around with a 3ft by 5ft Polish Flag with coat of arms is one of my signature tactics, that and blasting metal music through the woodlands (Though ABBA and "Its a long way to Tipperary" have both had more than a few plays)! Currently i'm salivating over the thought of FBS mortars, and RPKs, and SVDs, and G3's That's all about me, can't wait to hear from you all and hear all the brilliant advice i'm sure i'l get from you, Thanks for taking the time to read this, Regards - GruntInfantry

  5. The social media handles all used to be REMF Tacticool as I am very much a REMF (POG, Fobbit, nonner) and love all that is tacticool. That name fit the format of '3 or 4 letter acronym/abbreviation - Tactical' as so many shops, training companies and other internet groups tend to use. I was finding most people didn't know what REMF meant though and always getting questioned on it when walking around SHOT show so I started looking around for something new. Wanted it short, punchy, somewhat familiar to folks and not too cliche within the realms of guns, gear and airsoft. The origins of the phrase 'the full 9 yards', 'give em the whole/full 9 yards' are widely debated and entirely unproven with tons of theories out there, but some years ago Forgotten Weapons posted a video telling a story of a small group of British soldiers in WW1 that using plunging fire to suppress an area they wanted to deny to the enemy; they did this using a few Vickers guns and fired constantly for something like a day or 2 days, with runners doing round trips to bring more ammo, more cooling water and changing barrels when required (Maxim type MGs are capable of doing this sort of thing). I think in that video he states that this event is the origin of the phrase, but evidence I've seen from Vickers experts suggests that's probably not case. I picked the name as some years ago there was a variant on the story that said the RFC/RAF in WW1 had a specific variant of Vickers belt which was 9 supposedly yards, which again I think has been debunked but people associate a lot with a name so I'm not changing it again.

Thought I may share. There is a great price on both AliExpress and Amazon for pre-cut form hard cases for various pistol and magazine storage. This air-tight surplus .50 container and pre-cut pistol magazine foam all together came to £15.

  12. I don't think that makes you a bad player. It shows you to be a player willing to go out there for whatever objectives and risk being hit instead of obsessing over having at least a 1.0 k/d ratio so I reckon most players will respect and even admire that. Welcome!

  13. Yup, that. Just cut a thin rectangle of pencil eraser or your material of choice, the same size as the hop window, and lay it on top of the hop rubber before putting the arm and nub back on. Another good call. Heck, the stock nub on my XR-5 was a tube of hard plastic. And glued into the hop arm. Very peculiar, but it did actually work (before I immediately binned it off for an Omega and Maple Leaf). On that last point, what bucking did you fit? Maple Leaf buckings generally do a decent job in most hop units.

  15. looks very combat union inspired, although that's by no means an insult. i suspect the issue is the arm length, on the cu's you get an equivalent linear movement from the pitch of the spiral but the arm on that well looks about a third longer. ofc limited travel isn't entirely a bad thing, it's trading fineness of adjustability for range of motion. one option is to pop some packing under the nub, as 'borg says pencil eraser although i tend to prefer cutting strips off a normal bucking into rectangles as they give a consistent thickness. the nub is the part that's actually pushing the bucking through the barrel window and into the chamber. they're usually round cylinders of rubber nestled in a little cup in the hop arm but can be in all sorts of wacky shapes or even moulded into the arm itself. another old school mod is if the nub is particularly soft, replacing it with a snippet from a biro ink cartridge which is much stiffer and doesn't deform can also give motion at the expense of making the hop more sensitive (ie the gap between no hop, good hop and jamming is smaller)

Hey guys Decided to give airsoft a rest atm so won’t be needing this. Got from Sixmm a few weeks ago. Great trigger compared to the mws and the v3 mag hold tons of gas. Light also * Watch Explosive enterprises on YouTube to find out about the v3 vfc system* Fired a good dozen times to check out the bolt lock etc. paint is thin and on the general rifle. The bolt has a few bits of paint worn off but nothing crazy. Any other pics or a video just ask 👌 parcelforce 24/48.

  17. Do you mean that there's barely any movement in the hop arm, or that it moves, but you can see that it's still barely pushes the bucking into the barrel? Either way, it sounds like you'll just have to find a way to put more pressure on the bucking with a larger nub. The pencil eraser is a good shout, just cut it larger. Or use thin slivers of eraser, Sugru, or even pieces of electrical tape in a pinch to shim out between the nub and the bucking.

  18. A man's lived with his wife for 25 years and all that time he's told her never to look in the safe, but one day the wife gets curious and while he's at the pub has a look. In there she finds £40,000 in cash and three eggs. Upon his return from the pub she asks him about it and he eventually agrees to tell her. "Every time I've slept with another woman I take an egg from the chickens and put it in the safe" Well three affairs in 25 years could be worse she says .... but what about the money? "every time I get a dozen eggs I sell them"

  22. Great day at Red Alert yesterday. The threat of bad weather seems to have put a lot of people off but numbers were good enough for balanced teams and good gameplay! The rain didn't actually appear until around lunchtime then promptly buggered off just as we were going out for the first game of the afternoon. So that was nice.

  23. Airguns and airsoft are two completely different things. If you're after airguns, you're in the wrong place. The Umarex Legends M1A1 is an AIRGUN not an AIRSOFT gun.

  24. Played at Survival yesterday. Combination of weather and recent road closures which had only just been re opened kept numbers down . About 28 of us, but what a great day ! . Now i Iove low number days 'cos it's way more tactical , add in a decent number of first timers and no snipers and it was bloody great. The rental guys all got stuck in and played well. Proper hit calling all round and fair play from everyone. We wone the first 3 games, and although we did probably work better as a team, the other team never gave up , none of that 'we're going to lose so meh' attitde, they kept coming right till game over. Pacey games using only part of the field each time , teritory game, raise / lower the flag in the village and get the barrel from the centre start point as close to the other teams HQ as poss. That one involved running into a hail of BBs ! Game 4 was interesting . I was made team leader (probably based on age 😂) and got to pick 4 other guys. We then had to rescue a casualty ( manakin on a stretcher) from the medic station and get him back to our start point. Other team of everyone else were already spread out covering th earea when we started. We seriously didn't think we'd do it, the casualty was so well covered, but a concerted push just before the end got him out with 2 of our guys running him back up the hill to base . At that stage i was completely soaked as it had rained pretty steadily most of the day and various body parts were complaining, so I called it a day. Ran my L119 A2 and G3 GBBR's , they both got stashed in the airing cupboard over night to dry them off before a strip and clean today.

  30. The retailer needs to adduce a defence. Selling a RIF to dad to gift on to son to use for playing airsoft at insured sites would seem to satisfy the letter and spirit of the law, and no offences would be committed by dad or son in either case - if buying within the UK. However, importation is an offence, and you'll need to provide more evidence than calling up BBGnuz4U and saying "Aw, go on, mister, I've saved up all my 50ps, I'll be ever so careful, honest, mister." Don't risk it, it's likely to result in seizure or possibly even criminal charges - people have had knocks on the door from police over importation. So, anyway: Would I be wrong in assuming that the answer is "I'm thinking about playing, honest, mister."

  31. That needs qualified. Guns will run hotter on 11.1V lipo than on 7.4V lipo or 9.6V life. However, when it comes to battery C ratings, higher is always better - the battery won't supply more current than the motor wants to draw. And the ARP 9 2.0 recommends 11.1V, so it shouldn't be an issue. We'll need to know more about what "motor overheating issues" actually means, and the use being made of it. Running it like a support gun, or constant semi-auto trigger spamming will put heat in the motor. What are the symptoms we're talking about here?

Now with the ready availability of 3D Printed impacts that run off cap gun pellets, these are hard sell. I can have reliable one shot impacts for less than £5 a pop. They have to price it low, as otherwise they can't realistically compete any more. 92g in weight and 48 caps for £2.99.

  34. I was looking through the forum and I haven’t seen a thread dedicated to people’s kit bags or cases. Personally all of my stuff if organised into several Nuprol cases, Peli cases, max cases. Recently shadow foam have been doing a purple foam which looks quite nice 😁 My magazine case is a max case with laser cut inserts (comes like this from factory so it’s fairly cheap).

These are my cases: most of them use shadow foam. however I found a company called max case that do factory fitted generic laser cut foam. So that’s where all my short mags go!

  36. How can you be under 18 but have a defence?
    1 point
  37. If you purchased it new from a retailer, you might be best advised to send it back; there may be a fault causing the motor to overheat. However, it is worth asking what you mean by "overheating issues"; what are the symptoms?

  40. Played at Special Ops HQ - the fireplace in Milton Keynes on Friday night. It was a rare opportunity for a night game as I’m not normally in area on a Friday night. I spent the whole night trying not to get shot in the face, thinking about the wedding photos for my friend… instead of getting shot in the face, someone got a good angle and I was shot in the “two veg”… I was then shot a few more times because my hand wasn’t raised 😂 Anyway, it was an awesome night and a good indoor venue - I’d highly recommend giving the site a visit. I ran my GHM9-G and a few TM glocks - I’m very impressed with the GHM9 and loved that one type of magazine serviced both RIFs 👍🏽
