  1. Apparently I'm now ranked as a Mentor! I think they've missed the De off the beginning!

  2. Imo it depends on the site you play at, there's no point in us telling you to zero at a certain range if engagement ranges don't get that far or your gun won't shoot that far. Mine is set for about the 40m mark at the moment. Also it's worth getting into the habit of checking and rezeroing your sight in the morning before a game as knocks from transporting etc can cause the point of aim to shift, especially with the cheaper optics

  3. Good thinking. Trying to get closer to the site limit would be a waste of time as you could easily go over and that extra 6fps will make bugger all difference anyway

  4. In total agreement about not worrying about showing up on your tod. If I may plug as someone who's played there multiple times, might I suggest REDCON-2 at Dalton Barracks near Abingdon since you're looking near Oxford? It's run by RIFT Airsoft. Good marshals, varying playing environments, convoy vehicles to be escorted in, really fun objectives and gameplay, reasonably priced food and drinks in a captive market, prizes to be won with White Sphere Tactical. The player base is usually friendly and welcoming.

    Side Mounts

That's an M-LOK rail. It has picatinny rail at 12 O clock and you can either direct mount an accessory (like the pictured vertical grip) or mount rail pieces to the M-LOK cuts to mount stuff to. Obviously direct M-LOK is preferable. More streamlined, aesthetic etc.

  11. Strongly recommend RIFT at Abingdon. Large open site often with vehicles to commandeer. Welcome to the hobby and as said - rocking up on your todd is never an issue... Just throw yourself into the games and ask about people's pew pews - very often they'll let you have a go too - one chap let my son and his mate fire off his £5.5K minigun. Put a massive grin on both their faces.

You would be best off posting in the Appraisals section here: https://airsoft-forums.uk/forum/151-appraisals/

Sounds promising, does it have a regulator and if so was it of any use?

  16. That was with the hop completely off for the .2g BBs. I usually use .25g BBs, the M100 is giving c.310fps @ 1.02j with the hop at its usual level at that weight. So yes, does feel like there's some wiggle room with the hop on.

A Sig 320 discharging by itself? Sounds like it's real-steel accurate.

    M16A1 low fps - theory?

Nozzle length isn't dictated by barrel length, but by the hop design. Sounds like you have a Hop Unit to Nozzle incompatibility which is very typical for bitza builds. Get an adjustable length nozzle and start working out what the ideal length is through trial and error.

  21. Welcome. As Rogerborg posted, don't worry about turning up on your own. You'd be surprised how many people do. If you're looking for a site have a look at https://playairsoft.uk/

  22. Ahoy and welcome. We'll see if anyone chimes in, but the great thing about airsoft is that it's a very welcoming hobby. It's absolutely fine to rent and show up alone, and super easy to get talking to people. Just ask anyone about their gun or the site and see if you can get them to shut up.

  23. That must be nearly 10mm. Are you sure a tic-tac or smint hasn't gotten in there somehow? Lol. Somebody on the forum did some in depth bb testing a while back and one of the tests was to leave different brands soaking in water for some time. As I recall they didn't increase in size. Not sure if he tested bios though. But even so I have read that bios take years to break down completely.

  24. Most bio BBs don't swell up, or at least modern ones don't (although their "biodegradability" is questionable). In any case, don't use poor quality BBs, bio or not...

  25. Yes, I have no idea how, or how long it's been in there. Reasons not to use Bios I guess...
