trouble zeroing in
Tommikka and 2 others reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
Imo it depends on the site you play at, there's no point in us telling you to zero at a certain range if engagement ranges don't get that far or your gun won't shoot that far. Mine is set for about the 40m mark at the moment. Also it's worth getting into the habit of checking and rezeroing your sight in the morning before a game as knocks from transporting etc can cause the point of aim to shift, especially with the cheaper optics3 points -

Which spring to use to stay under 350fps?
Rogerborg and one other reacted to Cannonfodder for a topic
Good thinking. Trying to get closer to the site limit would be a waste of time as you could easily go over and that extra 6fps will make bugger all difference anyway2 points -
In total agreement about not worrying about showing up on your tod. If I may plug as someone who's played there multiple times, might I suggest REDCON-2 at Dalton Barracks near Abingdon since you're looking near Oxford? It's run by RIFT Airsoft. Good marshals, varying playing environments, convoy vehicles to be escorted in, really fun objectives and gameplay, reasonably priced food and drinks in a captive market, prizes to be won with White Sphere Tactical. The player base is usually friendly and welcoming.2 points

Genuine Ops Core Fast SF Bump Helmet XL in Multicam

THIS ADVERT IS 'UNCOMPLETED' - THIS MEANS THE ADVERTISER HASN'T BUMPED THIS LISTING, BUT IT COULD STILL BE WORTH CONTACTING THEM.

- As new
Originally bought 2 of these back at the start of the year both in Multicam as I fit between size large and XL. I decided on keeping both however since decided the Large is a better fit for me. very light and comfortable to wear whilst also being sturdy and offering a genuine level of protection against impacts to the head. fits approx 59-62cm These retail for approx £600 off endeavour tactical. Only worn to test and play with the retention system leaving light scratches on the Arc Rail screws while trying to dial the fit in better. Has been sat in its box since the first few days and still comes with all tags attached etc. Please note this is not a ballistic helmet but will happily protect you from airsoft projectiles. £10 for RM special delivery postage Any questions please ask.£490

That's an M-LOK rail. It has picatinny rail at 12 O clock and you can either direct mount an accessory (like the pictured vertical grip) or mount rail pieces to the M-LOK cuts to mount stuff to. Obviously direct M-LOK is preferable. More streamlined, aesthetic etc.1 point

One working pair of camo pattern UV5R Radios with hands free speaker and push to talk remote. Includes 1x docking charger. Both radios working perfectly with good battery life and excellent range. They have been used independently so mostly have different frequencies programmed, however easy to dial into specific channels to use them together, or dial into your team frequency. £35 posted, PayPal or bank transfer fine, please add fees if paying via goods and services.£35

Strongly recommend RIFT at Abingdon. Large open site often with vehicles to commandeer. Welcome to the hobby and as said - rocking up on your todd is never an issue... Just throw yourself into the games and ask about people's pew pews - very often they'll let you have a go too - one chap let my son and his mate fire off his £5.5K minigun. Put a massive grin on both their faces.1 point -

Which spring to use to stay under 350fps?
Rogerborg reacted to FelipeFlops for a topic
That was with the hop completely off for the .2g BBs. I usually use .25g BBs, the M100 is giving c.310fps @ 1.02j with the hop at its usual level at that weight. So yes, does feel like there's some wiggle room with the hop on.1 point -

Low fps could it be cylinder related?

So the paper moved a fair bit so I’m guessing air is escaping 🤦♂️ IMG_3676.mov1 point -
Update: The spring on the hop unit was making the hop unit sit at a slightly funny angle. Removed it and the fps is up to 271 (.25g again), which seems to be the average if Gavins JG and my other m16 is any indication.1 point

Nozzle length isn't dictated by barrel length, but by the hop design. Sounds like you have a Hop Unit to Nozzle incompatibility which is very typical for bitza builds. Get an adjustable length nozzle and start working out what the ideal length is through trial and error.1 point

Headed to a reenactment event last weekend and picked up an original fibreglass heat shield for an M14 (Been looking for one, for years) but sadly no M14 as I broke the Cyma one trying to upgrade it (Oops… may make an appearance as a boneyard project soon 😂) Popped into my local shop yesterday and was informed the G&G M14 could be acquired with some magazines (Regretted selling my veteran but couldn’t get mags at the time) - Collected it from them today and it’s so beautiful 😍 Sadly plastic stock but it doesn’t feel that bad.1 point

Welcome. As Rogerborg posted, don't worry about turning up on your own. You'd be surprised how many people do. If you're looking for a site have a look at https://playairsoft.uk/1 point -
Ahoy and welcome. We'll see if anyone chimes in, but the great thing about airsoft is that it's a very welcoming hobby. It's absolutely fine to rent and show up alone, and super easy to get talking to people. Just ask anyone about their gun or the site and see if you can get them to shut up.1 point

That must be nearly 10mm. Are you sure a tic-tac or smint hasn't gotten in there somehow? Lol. Somebody on the forum did some in depth bb testing a while back and one of the tests was to leave different brands soaking in water for some time. As I recall they didn't increase in size. Not sure if he tested bios though. But even so I have read that bios take years to break down completely.1 point -

Most bio BBs don't swell up, or at least modern ones don't (although their "biodegradability" is questionable). In any case, don't use poor quality BBs, bio or not...1 point -
