Sorry for the double post, but the timing worked out this way. I know it isn't period accurate for all you stitch counters, but new harness arrived for my Vietnam belt kit and it was £12 well spent. The period accurate one is simply not made for 6'5 individuals. Even at the max setting it was just too short and held the belt up too high. This new one is longer and actually fits me comfortably, keeping the belt where it should be. Also I added a knife sheath because knife kills are always amusing. Fits everything I need for a good time hunting GIs with their own kit3 points -

Went to South Coast CQB for the first time in about 8 years yesterday! Overall a good day, but.... Marshalling was pretty woeful, several times the two marshals assigned to our side spent the entire game sat at spawn pissing about with their phones. The other two seemed to be a bit more on the ball so there's that. Lots of whingeing about hit taking but personally I didn't see a problem. I think there's a lot of people whose guns aren't as good as they think they are! The site is a LOT smaller than the last time I went. The whole back half of the site has been fenced off by the landowner (presumably because the buildings are less fucked and able to be rented out). Teams were massively unbalanced and there was no attempt to address it. We got our shit pushed in and spent most of the day within about 100yds of our spawn point (that's on us, I am aware). On the plus side, my SCAR full of @ak2m4's upgrade bits performed excellently, although my MP9 managed to get a BB stuck under the nozzle and went through a kinetic disassembly. Good day overall, not in a massive rush to go back though. There's other sites that are the same/less distance that I'd rather spend my time at.3 points -

Lol An elderly man rear-ended a guy driving an expensive European sports car. Enraged, the guy hops out and confronts the old man. He yells, "Look what you did to my car! You're going to give me $10,000 right now or I'm going to beat you to a pulp!" "Oh my…" the old man said nervously. "I don't have that kind of money. Let me call my son.” he said with hope. “He trains dolphins and he will know what to do." "Dolphins!" the other driver huffed, while rolling his eyes. The old man pulled out his phone, dialed his son, and just as his son answered, the irate man snatched the phone away from the old man. "So, YOU'RE a dolphin trainer, huh?” The irate man yelled, “Well, your old man here just rear-ended my car and I need TEN GRAND right now, or I'm going to beat you AND your old man to a pulp!" "I'll be there in 10 minutes." says the voice calmly on the other end. Exactly 10 minutes later, a Jeep pulls up and a guy hops out and proceeds to pulverize the bully, leaving him in a heap on the side of the road. When he finished, he walked over to his father and said, "For the last time dad, I train Seals… Navy Seals. NOT dolphins!”2 points -

When me and my brother first started Airsoft I bought a Classic Army M4, and he had a G&G. My rifle would only feed from Classic Army magazines, and his G&G.. and a single Nuprol PMAG. I think it's really hit and miss as I know other people have said their rifles will feed from any magazine! So I'd say buy a few different types and see what feeds best. Failing that buy a TM Recoil and never look back .. ?2 points -

What have you just 3d printed (for airsoft)
Egon_247 and one other reacted to HuttArmouries for a topic
So a while ago I started to build a hk21e machinegun based on a jg g3 but the gun was a bit screwed and I made a bit of a hash of upgrading it so That rather killed my motivation for working on that. I recently sold off that gun as part of my process of swapping entirely to gbbrs. Having watched a few explosive enterprises vids I decided to give this another go. This time the base gun is a we gbb g3. It came to me with the barrel shortened and Ive just picked up a proper hk21e style clubfoot stock for it. Im planning to model and print most of the bits for it in plastic and then send them off to be done in aluminium when im finished. This is just the first step. 1 new sight block that just sits on the cocking tube and dosent go down to the barrel. 2 front handguard cap with a block hidden under it which bolts to the handguard pinhole to keep everything rigid 3 a sleeve to go over the barrel to give it the proper machinegun profile. I have sanded and painted this bit since the proper barrel is tapered and making one of these in metal would be a pain. will probably leave it plastic. It just screws onto the outer barrel nut and gets pinned in place by the flash hider. next up is to make the rear handguard cap and order some steel or aluminium tube to make the actual handguard. Ill be building a pinhole into the rear handguard cap where the belt feed mechanism attaches. This would normally be on the reciever instead of the magwell but Im trying to make this in a way which requires as little modification to the base gun as possible. Once the belt feed assembly is made ill be making a box mag to slot onto it, fitting the guts of a 249 box in there, hpa tapping the original mag and drilling a hole in the front for bbs to feed in from a spring tube. Im not really a fan of hpa but for a gbb lmg like this its simply the best option.2 points -
Have you tried it on a different battery ? The exsting one, could possibly be losing power under load. G&G are usually pretty solid, but dud's can always happen. I'd try a different battery , if that still doesn't work then send it back again.2 points

Yup, ordered the gearbox & a tan grip for my HB, was a bit confused by the candle. after a few emails/messages to sixmm & a trawl of their website (no candles for sale) I concluded that customs mucked it up when checking the contents. I assumed someone's Grannie got a pistol grip for Xmas, hope they wanted a tan one.1 point -

Yes I agree it's not feasible with my setup. I think the chrono is wrong. I do remember couple of years ago it was around 30 rps.1 point

I think your chrono is telling fibs. Even if you didn't suffer from mech issues, your still going need a motor with a no load speed north of 60k1 point

Another possibly obvious question - noting that the gun contains a mosfet, there may well be a drain on the battery when it is connected. Are you leaving the battery in it, and connected? If you have done that, even for a few days, it is possible that you have drained the lipo to a voltage that has caused damage to the battery - i.e. it won't really take charge any more. When you buy a replacement battery, as per the suggestions above (i have found Turnigy batteries, purchased from Hobbyking good and super cheap), ensure that you never store the battery connected, and ideally store the battery at a 2/3rds charge (a so called 'storage charge' if you aren't using it for a month or so,1 point -
Welcome to self teching! Clean out all the shit grease that came in it from the factory and relube it with some half decent stuff. Not loads either. Shimming from the factory will be the absolute bare minimum. Do it properly and it'll run smoother, be quieter and last longer.1 point

Appreciate it, but I'm going lowwwww. I had a LPVO on it before on very low rings and it felt great, so I'm going for the same here (just with a better LPVO with a 1x instead of 1.5x minimum)1 point

Yes, they do usually come with some shims from factory but quite often just a basic level which can usually be improved.1 point

To be fair, I think the site is only about 100 yards across That sucks though, unbalanced teams sometimes happens, but no attempts to fix it is poor management. And shame about the hit callers. 95% of the time they aren't hitting a damn thing, but they're always so sure they are.1 point -
Just to be clear, I don't mean the entire setup, just the suspenders! And sorry, I lied. £14. Still, it's a great price. Alice kit tends to be pretty cheap and I love it. https://www.military1st.co.uk/13501001-mil-tec-us-lc2-suspenders-olive.html1 point

To throw something else cheap into the mix. I've got a Redwin Torero 1-6x24 and the glass quality is very similar to, if not better than (imo), the VisionKing 1.25-5x. It's $103 (right now on their own site) with a one-piece mount and you can pick from two different reticule choices. I haven't actually used the optic in anger yet as I still haven't finished my DMR build in favour of turning around some boneyard items... 5 months ago. I should really get on that.1 point

New 'inexpensive' DMR build. Base gun is a polymer GE 417, for weight and low price. Out of the box it was pretty horrid , but tbf for what it cost I wasn't expecting much. Gearbox is a long V2 with a mosfet and some sort of electronic full auto set up, no COL and a micro switch whitch enables full auto. I'm not realy a fan of mosfets as I see it as adding unnecisary electronic crap, ( and I'm normally running GBBR) but I'll concede that the lack of COL is handy in a semi locked pew. I've replaced the piston head and added a slightly longer double o ring nozzle, compression is now awesome. Switched to a ZCI rotary hop and inner barrel, along with a M/L rubber and Omega nub. Also a high torque motor. Now running at 1.78j on my home chrono on .36BBs. Quick blow over with Halfords paint to make it look a bit less plastic and added a few spare decals I had. It'll get a run out next game to shake it down, but happy with that.1 point

Stuck choosing between LPVOs
Tactical Pith Helmet reacted to Impulse for a topic
I wish I had a chance to look through them both, but the only place near me that sells optics is a real gun shop and their optics are a bit too pricey for what I'm looking for. I've heard good things about both Visionking and Vector Optics stuff, which is part of the reason I've looked at them. Honestly, the main reason I don't want to go Vortex is the price; the LPVOs that Vortex offer with a reticle that I like are £500 £330 at the cheapest with the new Venom series, which I think is still just about too much for me to spend on this one, and the larger scopes with the same requirements are outside my price range as well. Reticle type is very important for me, as I enjoy long distance airsoft archery, and a good reticle can really help if you set your gun up and know exactly where on the reticle you need to aim to hit those longer shots. Unfortunately, those ones listed don't quite meet the requirements I need. The Nikko 1-4x24 is close, but I don't like the reticle Hard requirements for me are: - Reticle I can use for longer shot archery - 1x minimum variable optic, as I will be taking this to CQB (because I'm crazy) as well as using it for woodland - Illuminated reticle as I will be taking it to night games as well (ties into why I also want 1x minimum) - LPVO aesthetic. I don't want a mid or long range looking optic as it would look a bit weird on this build - Low scope rings Maximum magnification isn't too much of an issue. I'd be okay with 4x, but ideally 6x or 8x as a maximum as I like to use my optics to spot targets and radio movements to my team. Doubt I'd be actually shooting with more than 4x or 5x. It's funny to me to think that my hard list of requirements is so strict on a gun that I won't actually be using all that much, but I think that's actually why. It's a backup gun that I will be using for times when my main guns are either not viable options or something has gone wrong. It's also why I don't want to spend too much and honestly I think that reason alone is why the Visionking one has been the front runner for me for so long. It's not that expensive and does everything I need it to.1 point -
Excuse the picture angles. my attempt at an impression based on 2nd Infantry Division 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team Iraq 2003-2004. All genuine kit besides the PRC-148 radio as the genuine ones are encrypted and restricted. The M4 is still a work in progress as I’d like to add some more genuine parts to it. I’ll then post that on the gun pic thread. The base uniform is the CCU Close Combat Uniform in 3 colour desert. These were trialed between 2003-04 by the 2nd ID and 25th ID SBCT in Iraq along with some 173rd AB.1 point
