Egon_247 and 4 others reacted to HuttArmouries for a topic
so recently I designed and printed this little smg / pdw that uses glock internals. Its very snappy and works well though I will be tweaking the aesthetics a lot. Here's also another bit from the new thing im prototyping. Im sure you can guess what that is for.5 points -
Tokyo Marui Scope on GBBR - Great Idea or Expensive Mistake...?
Nick G and 2 others reacted to JimFromHorsham for a topic
Someone offered me a TM PSG1 scope for my VFC and whilst it’d look the part I do like to shoot the things too and I don’t think the TM one would last 5 minutes on there , optically it’s shite as well 😂 for not much more money I picked up a Schimdt & Bender 6x42 (£125 vs £175) so not exactly clone correct but you can’t win them all 🤪 , dressed with the classic yellow front cover and a rubber eye cup if you squint it looks the part . if I can find some Stanag ring mounts and lose the Picatinny for a fair price I’ll be a happy boy3 points -

no , had to source that from overseas , it’s a clone but absolutely spot on , steel legs , fully adjustable and takes down like the genuine/original LOGA version . Once the kit is complete I shall refoam the case to be a bit more like the original issued set. RS: good read here on the real one , https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/new-to-me-hk-psg1-very-detailed-overview-inside.222325/1 point -

Brushless motors will keep the current draw down, even when they are on stiffer springs. Mechanically they are quieter and with only the bearings as a wear item, likely to last forever. They have bags of torque partly because they are electronically commutated (probably variable timing) and partly because there are more poles and room for more copper. The bit that makes the heat is on the outside so they run cooler and the magnets are better shielded from the heat. You battery will last longer in a day but also have a longer lifetime. Ther are expensive only because few people use them. I'll be looking at ak's when they are in, I have an adv one I haven't used yet.1 point
-
Personally I'd rather get a lower power spring or cut some coils rather than take out the bearing.1 point

Depends why you want it really. They're great for turning over any spring, getting the most out of batteries, etc. I've not had any issues running 27k on 7.4v, but depends how many RPS you "need". The only point worth noting (other than worrying about soldering wires onto an expensive motor so it'll go in an AUG), is that there are lots of options for making a slow motor faster (16:1, 13:1. 12:1 gears, which this will have no problem turning over) or 11.1v batteries, but there aren't as many at slowing down one that's too fast...1 point

Egon_247 reacted to Pseudotectonic for a topic
Ok that is quite a standard build so there is no crazy torque requirement to worry about which is good With 18:1 you can estimate your "paper ROF" with 27000 x (8.0/11.1) x 1/18 x 1/60 x 78% = about 14 RPS max (8.2 is because a fully charged 7.4 we can assume around 4.1 V per cell give or take) (The 78% is a universal constant for efficiency loss I find pretty spot on for all the Warheads) So you still have plenty of headroom until PME which is say just below 30, say 28+ RPS In reality you can try the Base 45k which will draw about the max amp your 7.4 is able to power anyway which should give you in the region of low 20s RPS which is still plenty of headroom below PME ceiling so the 45k would still be fine with your setup1 point -

Little update.... Went by Bespoke Airsoft this morning and was greeted politely by staff saying "were closed for aa few weeks to relocate to High Wycombe " Fair enough. They also said they'd look at my pew once they've settled in. Also fair enough. I have a skirmish day planned for near there anyway. Jury is still out, but I'm still prepared to give the benefit of the doubt.1 point -

A good rule of thumb for most of life i find. Unlike the selfish twat currently hogging the car charger at Cobham services at 90% charge and only 20% charge speed (because that's how batteries work) My hangover agrees. Why the fuck was I mixing Rum, Jack Daniels and Corona last night? I feel as rough as all balls at the moment. 🤢1 point -

Having taken an impact grenade to the face (fortunately I was wearing a GSR replica which took the brunt of it) I can't agree enough with only allowing them to be thrown underarm and below waist height Personally I wouldn't bother with an impact grenade in woodland as they're so unreliable on soft ground. I tend to go with a mix of timed BFGs for posting into doorways and paper pyro for yeeting1 point -
Been spraying kit for a while. Thought id share a few tips ive learnt over time. Halfords camo spray paint is top quality for price, works just as well as higher priced brands like krylon and EC paint. Best way to make stencils is put a laminator sheet through the laminator to get a thin perspex like sheet. Then trace the camo patterns off the back of a shirt and cut with an exacto knife. Gives nice clean lines. Stencils held away from the item you are spraying gives less clean edges which actually work really well for camouflage. Using a light colour spray far away from the finished product to create a light dusting that dulls all the colours youve sprayed. Airfix/ modelling matt sealents work well to protect the items from lots of chipping Dhobi mag/netting works ok as a spray template, but can look bad as a finished product. Using a net with bigger holes works a lot better to break up shapes. Appreciate most people probably already know this stuff but hopefully helps someone.1 point

The dark alley treatment is too good for that piece of lowlife scum! I’ve also reported his channel. I cannot for the life of me think what goes through some people’s heads that makes them want to do anything like what he has done/said. A lot of mental health issues out there! Don’t comment or react to his video, as that’s what these pieces of shit thrive on! Just a nice silent report to YouTube and hopefully he gets removed, until he makes another channel. Hopefully karma issues him as awful a fate as poor Ollie has been dealt.1 point -

Version 1 is more or less done. Im probably gonna change around the grip texture and the non reciprocating charging handle needs something to hold it forwards while the gun is running but its fully useable as is. Minus the fact its missing a few bolts but its too late at night for me to want to fire up the soldering iron and put the threaded inserts in.1 point -
