A good evening game at Driver wood last night - £15 for 4 hours of quite closely packed game play which i thought was very reasonable. We used one of the paintball fields, so more open terrain, small buildings and towers and artificial cover interspersed with trees. A good choice, as the dense packed undergrowth of the rest of the site would have led to boring and uneventful game play, as well as a significant amount of blue on blue. Aside for one particular game where flashing pucks needed to be collected from around the field by our team - and where the opposing team hadn't heard the Marshalls whistle to start the game (!) culminating in them leaving their spawn 5 minutes in, it went off smoothly. It was nice that there was some flood lighting dotted around the field, randomly changing colour every now and then to add spice. Still plenty of dark corners to hide in, but it was just enough so that players weren't forced into the tedious dilemma of using a torch to try to spot the enemy whilst simultaneously giving away your position. At least, not all of the time. The games were chosen to work well on the field, and meant that it was generally fairly predictable which rough areas of the field the friendlies and the enemy were in, reducing the annoyance of constant blue on blue. Reaffirmed my view that tracer units - whilst undeniably fun - have more negatives than positives in the dark, literally highlighting your location to all around. A decently dialled in red dot did me proud last night, atop my L119a1ish. Oh, and, following on from the (rather accurate) posts earlier in this thread about the green team always winning - nice to see the Orange team winning each game last night!2 points -
Work in progress, BRT CAR15-SD 300 blk replica. This gun encompasses all the best bits of various guns imo; Its a sub-gun / PDW - my fave size. MP5SD vibes - just love MP5s. Retractable stock - again MP5. AR controls - ergonomics. 20rd mags - easy to shoot when prone. 300 subsonics - cool as F in real steel.2 points

Thor the Norse warrior is killed in battle, he arrives in Valhalla and is greeted by Odin the great god, after a while Thor is sorely missing the pleasures of a woman and keeps on pleading with Odin to allow him to go back to earth one last time to satisfy himself, finally Odin agrees with one condition that he does not tell the woman his name, Thor readily agrees and after a night of very passionate lovemaking he is very pleased with himself and decides when the lady comes back from the bathroom he would tell her who he is, "I’m Thor" he shouts beating his chest, " YOU'RE THORE?" she exclaims "I’m so thore l could hardly pith"1 point -
Appreciate the responses fellas, thank you. For no other reason than curiosity, my futures purchases are likely to be: Jaeger Titan nub Jaeger bolt weight set SixG HSB (they in stock @Davegolf?) and possibly the HAO Geissele bolt and steel weight. I blame @SSPKalientirely for sparking this curiosity, and both hate and thank him in equal measures 😂1 point

I have settled on the stock TM bolt with: HAO steel bolt end, AG alu buffer and 110% buffer spring - this is great in warm weather, still lets me get 70+ shots from a mag and gives a nice kick. Winter set up is the stock bolt end, stock plastic buffer and G&P buffer spring (comparable to TM stock) - this gets maximum from the gas efficiency without removing all feedback and turning it into a glorified NGRS with extra steps. Unless you have shares in propane manufacturers I would steer clear of AG steel buffer and / or 130% buffer spring. It still isn’t close to the feel of a 5.56 M4 plus you will never have the “fun” of the 10” barrel fireball 😂 My MWS came with the Laylax hop arm with inbuilt nub so not played about with other options as happy with it. Think there is a ML MR hop in there at the moment, stock TM and Modify Tan are both good.1 point

Re bolt weight, it’s all relative to buffer spring strength, and how real you want your fake gun to feel. Honestly a heavier bolt has zero performance benefits. You using more gas, slowing the cycle rate and wearing things faster. Lightweight bolt is the way to go, paired with correct buffer spring The only true hop upgrade from SixG Super Nub is Rhop1 point

I'm using it in my build at the moment and it works very well with a ML MR hop rubber, but was awful with an autobot rubber.1 point

It's been a long time coming, But I bought what I consider my holy grail of guns since I first started back in 2016. Daytona AK105 with my WE Desert Eagle, ran it at my local CQB site, they may not be what people consider Meta but god damn is it fun firing these two guns1 point -

Few upgrades from AK2M4, delivered next day as promised. Perun and XT 22TPA for the boy's G36. Another XT 22TPA, plus a ZCI hop unit and ML bucking for my Double Eagle. . Had a few mins spare tonight, so out with the old motor from the Double Eagle... ...and in with the new Not a night and day difference over the stock motor, I stupidly didn't do a direct before and after comparison but the trigger response is a bit quicker. Suspect they are both in the same ballpark windings wise. Magnets on the stock motor are no match for the new XT though. Expect it will prove itself when I run it on 3S instead of my current 2S.1 point -
Can't beat a classic; will probably run this combo this weekend, especially since one of my m14s needs converting to deans connectors before I can use it. I've found myself moving away from gucci rifle wraps and adopting a more realistic approach to camo. Elastic bands for natural veg on the day and making sure nothing interferes with the operating parts of the weapon (my expensive wrap has a tendency to obscure the scope picture, leading to me having to manually move parts out of the way). I could paint it, but I don't want to because I love how it looks and don't want to potentially ruin the aesthetic of the mk12. Literally some donor scrim net I got for free held on by cable ties and elastic bands that I will pair with either a £25 uncrafted cobra hood, or my £60 ghillie cape. Don't need to spend out masses to be a bush!1 point

Been working on this. Still a work in progress. It's a close representation of the actual minimi's used by the ill fated "Bravo two zero" (as pictured) It's a basic Mk1 minimi, but was fitted with a gpmg flash hider. Mine started as a TOP M249, but has external upgrades, Replica flash hider Guarder steel gas block Guarder steel centre block Guarder steel cocking lever Guarder steel body parts. G&P steel bipod ANGS top cover, This is being worked on to actually have a working round indicator. Genuine rear sight Genuine box mag (period correct) Genuine stock (not fitted yet)1 point -

Had an amazing day at Red Alert last weekend. Great marshalling team and a really well put-together site. Everytime I’ve played RA there’s been a good atmosphere and a distinct lack of poor sportsmanship, very happy to say this was the case for this game too. Got snapped a few times as we were attacking the “embassy”. Cheeky sidearm kills are always 10x more satisfying than primary kills Ran a HPA tapped WA Salient Arms AR and WE MP5k for the day, made a lot of noise and thoroughly enjoyed myself.1 point -
New MWS build. I've been startingly original and daring in building another URG-I, but in long boi flavour, to join its schtumpig sibling (points if you get the film reference there!) Mostly HAO and Magpul externals, with a couple of BavTac bits inside; Zet plate, nozzle spring and hop nub. I've put a waaaaay too long description of the parts and the build experience in the MWS thread because clearly I had too much time on my hands when I was on leave.1 point
