Tell you what gentlemen, if anyone on here who has had an RIF seized and destroyed by RM, if it was not a gas gun with a mag with the valve fitted (ie just any old AEG), wants to sue, I for one would be willing to donate a few quid towards their legal expenses.2 points -
Achieving maximum range under 350 fps with a bolt action rifle
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies and one other reacted to Ian_Gere for a topic
Unrustle_Thine_Jimmies runs something similar. Without having tried it myself, I'd tend to agree with Hef: PDI 6.01mm barrel and the softest rubber you can find - either a Prometheus Purple or maybe look into one of those 40 deg rubbers they were selling on ehobbyasia.com and yeah, I'd probably go for R-Hop too, set up for .28g BB Bastards. + Wrap the forward part of the rubber in PTFE tape to get as tight a seal between the barrel, hop chamber, and rubber. & Use a very good piston head O-Ring - Lees Precision Engineering are good (they have an eBay shop) + plenty of CT-2 Teflon grease on the O-ring and inside of cylinder (£4/50g search fleabay) Adding weight to the gun also increases its inertia, which ought to improve accuracy by lessening involuntary movement while pulling the trigger...2 points -

F2000 I kind of want one but to modify the body like this one if possible; https://www.flickr.com/photos/53780996@N08/5601577033 Yeah P90 is another ugly gun. Good ergonomics though.2 points -

Kit is in the UK somewhere so hopefully get that monday/tuesday as planned. while starting the strip down of the receiver, noticed a slight problem with installing a IGL... A lack of holes ! Looks like a vice and drill will be my next best friend! Bit tricky to drill any hole while preserving the thread and the strengh of the grip. Will be much easier to gauge once it all comes.1 point -

I still like the Kris. I remember being blown away, metaphorically of course, when I first saw one being put through its paces. It is designed well, fits its mission spec, and whether you find it pretty or not is an impressive weapon. Of course, it will never steal my heart away from the MP5.1 point -

TM Recoil, good or all hype?
Jedi_Master reacted to Randymanpipe for a topic
I was handling a TM shock recoil 417 yesterday at combat south. Oh man it truly is a thing of beauty. It's got all the looks and Hk branding with the knowledge that it has the quality internals to back it up. The 416/417 are far more impressive to look at and handle than the scar-h o L in my opinion. If I was to buy another aeg it would be the 417 fo show1 point -

Can't see a BB getting through a bike visor. They're small round bits of soft plastic going not very fast.1 point -
I've got a few bits that might help: First off, the best thing to do is to upgrade your power source (the magazines) here's a few bits: Magazine shims, these'll help with gas efficiency. http://www.leesprecision.com/products/laser-cut-mag-shim-pack-of-4-tokyo-marui-pistols A better quality gas route seal will also help with efficiency, and is easy to install. http://eagle6.co.uk/shop/catalog/product/view/id/573/s/laylax-nineball-magazine-gas-route-seal-aero-packing-2-pcs-for-hi-capa-p226-series/ This tool is essential when replacing o-rings on the gas inlets/outlets incase the magazine happens to leak after a while. http://www.milspecsolutions.co.uk/we-gas-magazine-valve-key-tool.html And we do love o-rings. These are probably better quality than the WE o-rings. http://www.milspecsolutions.co.uk/gas-blowback-parts/Tokyo-Marui-Magazine-Parts.html/Lees-Precision-Tokyo-Marui-Pistol-Magazine-Repair-Kit.html Now, parts for the pistol: The WE bucking is ok, but there are better one's out there, like this one. http://eagle6.co.uk/shop/catalog/product/view/id/570/s/laylax-nineball-wide-use-air-seal-chamber-packing-for-vsr-l96-gbb-series/ Replace the barrel with a tightbore, you'll get a bit of a fps boost and some slightly better range / accuracy, remember to clean it before you put it in your gun. http://eagle6.co.uk/shop/catalog/product/view/id/1479/s/laylax-nineball-6-00mm-power-barrel-97mm-for-g17-g18c-p226-gbb-series/ A stronger recoil and hammer spring will make the gun a lot snappier, if you're not sure about taking your gun apart then avoid this. http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?products_id=3660 Hope that helps.1 point

Best M4 on market?
Jedi_Master reacted to Sitting Duck for a topic
or get it built by a mofo best M4 - wow if there was just one clear winner for price, looks, performance, reliabiliity, sex appeal to women THEN WHY THE HECK DO WE ALL KEEP BUYING ALL SORTS OF GUNS ??? to put it another way - if anybody is happy with their particular gun, then to hell with what others think (reality - us big kids will never be happy & truely content, hence the "ooh that looks nice" problem arises time n time again)1 point -
My own personal opinion is that the best m4 is an ICS M4, I'm sure people will comment to the likewise, but my reasoning is that the stock hop unit is really good, the turbo 3000 motor many people seem to "upgrade" too, but they come stock in the newer (I believe post 2008, correct me if I'm wrong) guns. And having owned and abused 3 of them (granted I have sold all of them) the gears have shown literally no sign of fatigue, and I don't think I've ever seen a broken gear set. The split gearbox is just the icing on the cake making repairs a total doddle. My 2p1 point
-
Pros: They are shoot well (hop units are very good) and the externals are pretty good (except the plastics on some of the models), generally reliable out of the box. Cons: They are over priced, especially when you add in the cost of mags. The sop mod batteries are shit and massively over priced. For me the recoil is a gimmick as its more of a tickle. They are a pain in the arse to tech. Spares are expensive. Lack fps out of the box. For me, on balance I don't think they are worth the money, but each to their own.1 point

Randymanpipe reacted to TheFull9 for a topic
Pretty cool to see somewhere like that in such a well-done film. They dressed the place up nicely. Though watching that was one of those occasions I do kinda wish I wasn't in to airsoft and firearms. Recognising the chinese-made Ops-core clones, GPNVGs, Viper UBACSs and vests as well as all the RIFs etc does kill the illusion a little bit; doesn't stop it being a good short movie though ofc.1 point -
