  4. yea the tommy is a fiddly brute to take apart and i really wouldn't recommend taking apart a brand new gun, get em to do it for ya then you arnt invalidating your warranty. it is a lovely gun like and i was able to get mine in a sale and has served me well too. taken a few bangs that im pretty sure would have snapped my other guns with barely a scratch on it. just when you get it make sure the main body screws are tight to reduce wobble. id probably recommend looking at the wooden furniture version/ looking for the furniture in the future as it would really make the gun. oh and it can take large battery quite comfortably in that massive stock space...

As you can see, it's battered, had a lot of use! The silencer is an FMA quick detach tracer unit that I can highly recommend if you're wanting to play CQB, since you can clip it on and off in a second when you need it. http://www.ebairsoft.com/full-auto-tracer-silencer-tb631-p-6773.html Cheapest place I've found to buy it is ebairsoft, the flash hider that comes with it is for a KWA/KSC MP7 though and doesn't fit, but if you pack out the inside of the silencer with a bit of electrical tape it fits snugly over the stock marui flash hider. Sight is a DYTAC aimpoint T1 replica, it's the only one I've had so far that hasn't died from the recoil, this one's about 6-7000 shots in and still going strong. Torch is an element replica of a surefire m300 scoutlight on an offset mount, gets in the way of the folding grip a little bit but the on/off switch sits exactly where my thumb needs it to be. Have a PEQ15 as well to go on the top, but it's only really for night games as during the day I've no use for an IR laser and illuminator!

    Silencer Help

do you foresee yourself needing to remove the mock-doesn't-actually-do-anything silencer in a hurry? £60 is a lot to spend on the ability to clip it on and off!

  8. Flecktarn ProAirsoftSupplies Flecktarn have been brilliant every time I have used them, possibly the best customer service I've experienced yet. ProAirsoftSupplies are the same, as well as offering a MASSIVE G&G range and providing technical info on every weapon that leaves their doors- mine came with a sticker on the box stating it had an average FPS of 324, and I got the same figure from chrono testing at my local site. Firestorm Kit Actionhobbies FK took 3 weeks to send out my order despite me living 30 miles away from the company's registered address. Took incredibly long to reply to my emails as well and every phone call went to answer phone. I like Actionhobbies a little more because it was more of a misunderstanding I had with them than anything else; back when I had my MP5 I ordered an ACM hi cap mag from AH. In the product description it clearly stated that the mags were compatible with Cyma MP5s, and a google search brought nothing up about compatibility. When I received the mag it didn't even stay in the weapon when fitted despite appearing to be the same dimensions as the mag that came with the gun. I got a quick return and refund anyway, so my experience wasn't that bad.

  9. Personally, my approach would be to finish my Witch King of Angmar helmet, and command the forces of the dead to do my wishes. What? Mixing up plot lines? Pff.

  10. i have the 1928 typewriter by ka, is an awesome gun and has served me well. however i do advise getting your mits on one before you sink your money into it as its a very awkward gun to use, mag catch is not in brilliant place(specially if you change hands for firing, definitely avoid if a lefty) and the plastic does creak a bit. but all said and done i still love mine. mags though are expensive, but you can get drum mags, which mine came with, and i increased the capacity of mine to 8/900. but yea does shoot hot outta the box so downgrade needed!

  11. You'll need a spring downgrade since I've seen one of these hit 370 fps with the stock spring. Other than that they're fairly sturdy but you will be very limited with regards to upgrades and magazines. On the other hand you can turn it into a pulse rifle from Aliens with the conversion kit which makes it look a lot more badass

  13. That's the thing though isn't it, overheads! Staff/utilities/rent/insurance/tax etc over here are all MASSIVELY more than they are in Asia, not saying that all UK pricing is 'fair' but I can't imagine a situation where the prices here and the prices in Asia will match up to any extent. That said, for smaller stuff I'm willing to pay the premium to buy it from a UK seller, the convenience alone is worth it, Fire-Support are my go-to retailer for anything less than £100. I just wish that UK stores would stock more of the obscure stuff, especially parts.

  14. yes i know and the problem if you do your research you can definitely save a lot of money. so long as you know about the import charges because some may see it as hidden charges. I know this only helps reduce our economy by buying abroad. As a retailer myself it also affects us too, but if you had a local shop who ok stocked it at the standard UK price and you could have it the same day would you prefer the extra to be able to just pick it up the day you paid or to save money would you be happy to wait?

While wearing a cup, that's the best way lol. Back on subject, tiger stripes aren't allowed as the secondary colour has to be a block of colour, and I've always found that the blues work quite quite well, and as am added bonus most training weapons for the military/police tend to be in blue.

    Pyro's

Thanks for the info guys. I was just curious as I figured the rules for them would be weird. I'm not going to be purchasing any in the near future as I will just use the ones supplied at the mill for now, just wanted info. Thanks!

    Pyro's

Do you need ukara/ a defence? NOPE, you must be +18 to buy, and most sites will require you to be +18 to use them. Can you buy them sites? Yeah, some sites do good deals on them, many don't. Can you buy elsewhere? Yeah, its possible, you often get better deals this way. But beware, postage will be quite high they are explosives so there are restrictions on who will carry them, also some sites have silly rules like you must only use their pyro or a specific brand of pyro on their site, for the most part I cant find a real reason for this other than a money making scheme on their part. You get what you pay for, so better quality is good, I generally buy about 10 flashbangs and 5 smokes at a time, but I've had varying results from different companies. One set called Xplode had a 50% failure rate. TLSFX and Enola gaye have better reputations, in my eyes there is a reason for this, less than a 5% failure rate on these. I class inconsistent burn times as failures ie just the same as one that fails to detonate.

AKS-74U all the way. If you're looking for light, you don't want the ICS one - it's about the same as the real steel. The CYMA is probably not much lighter, but has the benefit of being on sale from gunfire.pl for £130 - for a light one you'd be best off with the D-Boys from taiwangun.com / get them to downgrade the spring to a Guarder SP100 and then use it until it breaks = after that just drop in a whole replacement CYMA gearbox for <£50 (although I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts a couple of years, you just can't tell with D-Boys stuff / some of it is made of dog hair matted with chewing gum, some of it is pre-formed popadoms, some is good). You can get plastic or aluminium RIS handguards for them, but you'd have to check exact compatibility (actually if u r interested say so b/c it's info i wouldn't mind having myself but i cba to go looking right now) - ehobbyasia.com have them iirc.

  23. ^ the last paragraph here, if not the whole thing, should become a 'sticky' on all airsoft forums.

  24. Just bear this in mind: the police have got far better things to be doing than chasing up someone who may have painted a toy gun 3 days before they had a definite defence against prosecution for having done so, which defence they gained by turning up to an airsoft site with said gun, especially since the intention to do so is the defence, in this aspect of the law, but also since the Association of Chief Police Officers have said the law is unenforcible (hence our hypothetical coppers would have a bit of explaining to do when their arrest record for the week was scrutinised). Plain and simply, nobody who understands the law can take it seriously and, by definition, anybody who attempts to give you grief about it doesn't understand the law so fuck 'em... Just don't be a dick with your AEG, whatever colour it is, and you'll be fine. Naturally, should you decide to test the limits of what "being a dick" entails, it will not be contravening the VCRA for which you will be arrested, but any of a string of firearms and/or public order offences which existed before and will exist long after the VCRA has been quietly superceded.

  25. Mr Cheesewright has a point, for the sake of ease, though bear in mind that there is no law against owning a RIF. If the police are speaking to you about your gun it shouldn't really matter whether it's an IF or a RIF - what really matters what you were doing before that in order for them to turn up!. The problem is that what the law actually says and what the police officer that is speaking to you thinks it says are not always going to be the same thing.
    1 point
  26. You're right that it is a sort of legal 'grey area,' in as much as nobody who wrote the rules really thought this bit through (sounds very familiar to most of the VCRA). Essentially it is illegal to manufacture a RIF, for example by removing the paint from an IF ('two tone'). However, you can avail yourself of a defence against prosecution if you have done this for the purposes of playing airsoft at a site with third party liability insurance. There is no specific age restriction on this, so it doesn't matter whether you're 18 or not. So, long story short, anyone who is going to use it for playing airsoft at a proper site can manufacture a RIF.
